Kume is a hole-in-the-wall that you don't want to miss out on if you're looking for quick, cheap hibachi. This is a go-to on busy evenings. The portion size is good. Only leaving 3 stars because we have received clumpy rice several times. Wouldn't recommend the noodle options. read more

I went there with my son and we had an excellent meal. The restaurant was far from busy , which allowed our waiter to tend to our needs with fast and friendly service. The sushi was magnificent with some flavors I had not tried before such as the lobster mango roll and the American roll. The Kani salad was delicious; a crab and cucumber combination. This is an excellent choice to some of the "drive thru" type sushi places. Defiantly a second visit. read more

What a great Resturaunt to replace the old Mr Gatti's! My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful soup, salad, and entree for only $25. She had the chicken hibachi with fried rice and I had the chicken and steak hibachi with fried rice. The server was quick to get our drinks and order and the food was out very fast! I have to say that now we will no longer travel out to Knoxville to get the Japanese steakhouse experience, this to me was much better dining experience and so was the price!! Brand new place but same old stuff for Oak Ridge. The sushi is good so I'm not going to take that away from them, but the hibachi is just bland and didn't stand out to me. Although it's a decent place there are better in the area and I won't be coming back to this one. I'll recommend for sushi for a quick lunch if you work in the area but that's as far as it goes unfortunately. read more

Me and my mom always go here to get either the Chattanooga roll or a bento box. My mom doesn't like seaweed, so the Chattanooga roll not having seaweed is a nice touch. We love food like this and to us this place is our special place to go in Oak Ridge. The people inside are always super nice and we have always liked their food. read more

Tried this place for the first time tonight. Very satisfying experience. Ordered the California Roll and Steak and Shrimp Hibachi for an entree. Staff kept check on us in a very timely matter and were attentive, polite and competent. The food was very good. Not quite as good as a couple of other Hibachi places I've eaten at, but it was very satisfying. All in all a great experience. Not the best Hibachi place I've eaten at, but by far the least expensive. Will definitely try it out again soon. read more

Not bad. Their dumplings were light and tasty. The service was on point. I had the sushi plate and it was all good and fresh. The sushi was just a wee bit warmer than I'd like but nonetheless was fresh. The proportion with rice was good and the eight piece was filling. Came in to eat sushi only. It was very good. Ordered Kume roll. My visit was during early afternoon so no one was here but service could have been better. Since this was first visit I had questions and couldn't get any answers regarding menu. I will come and eat again. I had heard it takes awhile to get your food which is fine but, I wanted some xtra wasabi and ice for my drink by the time someone came out to check on me I was finished. So I'll give it another chance and hopefully will get better service. Sushi was definitely good though. read more

This place is great! I was in from Nashville for work and saw this little place right behind the mall, checked out the yelp 4.5 stars, and decided to give it a try. They did not disappoint. Great under $10 option for two rolls soup and salad for lunch. Everything tasted fresh. The service was outstanding. I asked the server what he liked and he recommended the tiger roll very good. My water and green tea were always full. This will be an Oak Ridge stop for me every time. read more

Pretty solid place. Was staying at the Comfort Inn in Oak Ridge for work at ORNL and decided to give this a try because it's right up the street. Got the hibachi chicken dinner for $9 plus tax. Came with a soup and salad which were small but about what you usually get at a hibachi place. Then on the plate with the chicken came some veggies (mushrooms, onions, zucchini, and broccoli) and I got fried rice (steamed also an option). Just FYI I heard them tell another person they don't have brown rice. Veggies were pretty good and not frozen from what I could tell (possible exception of broccoli), rice was average, and chicken was good but extra saucy. Tender and had nice flavor but could have done with less sauce, as they give you plenty of dipping sauces on the side. Waitstaff very courteous and attentive. Good value at $9. Bento boxes seemed like a good deal, but too much food for one sitting (what I got plus a sushi roll and 2 spring rolls for like $11-12). Would like to try the sushi, but an overall 4 star first-time experience. read more

Had an excellent lunch. The ginger dressing on the house salad was perfect. I ordered the chicken and shrimp hibachi, my friend ordered the filet and chicken hibachi. Both of us got fried rice and it came with vegetables that included zucchini onions mushrooms and broccoli. The glaze they used was really really good and then they also give you plenty of yum yum sauce on the side. You do have to wait a little while but the salad comes out very quickly and the food is so good that the wait is worth it. read more
