Classes are hardly ever open, majority of the teachers have really bad ratings and you have no choice but to get stuck with them just so you can graduate on time. This school is growing too fast. There aren't enough teachers for the amount of students that go here .. I do not regret making my choice to go here, but I do regret living on campus worst decision ever.

After the session, I asked what advice he would give a KSU student considering transferring to SCAD. Before I could even finish my question, he interrupted me with, "Why would you do that?" He then spoke dismissively about SCAD, including its transfer policies and cost, while acknowledging that he didn't know its current credit requirements. What bothered me most was that, rather than focusing on what would be best for the student and their education, the conversation seemed to become about defending KSU by diminishing another institution. There is absolutely nothing wrong with explaining the strengths of your own program, but students deserve thoughtful, objective guidance, not an attempt to make another school look inferior. I'm a SCAD student myself and transferred from a two-year college, with nearly 90% of my credits accepted. When I shared my firsthand experience, it was brushed aside. Academic leaders represent their institutions. This interaction felt dismissive and unprofessional, and unfortunately left a very poor impression of KSU. My son watched it all and was shocked about the lack of professionalism. For that and other other reasons, he won't be attending KSU.

Kennesaw Mountain is a recognized award-winning school with many success stories after graduation…read more You might start here because of those accolades, but you'll finish with the view that Mustang family is a unique experience. Four kids in gives us some perspective, and starting with academic rigor, to community service opportunities, with extra-curricular options galore, KMHS is an incredible experience. The Magnet program is a shining star for STEM prep, consistently producing students who succeed and excel at top universities. The Magnet crew is stellar all-around, and our kids made long-term quality friendships lasting beyond high school. We've had our runs but never been an athletic powerhouse, partly due to being the smallest 7A school by far in the state (moving to 6A in '20). Despite that Mustangs have frequented state tourneys/meets, and enjoyed great developmental coaches. From personal experience, the swim coach is the best in the state. Beyond the classroom the service opportunities include Mane Link, an outstanding servant leadership organization. The Special Needs Dance and Shop With A Mustang are two examples of how amazing this group is. Good teachers, supportive parent network, happy students are what you'll find at the Mountain.

Just got my private pilots license! After taking discovery flights with six different schools and…read moretrying out two separate ones, I learned two things. 1) Saving money doesn't matter if you're dead and 2) This is the only Part 61 school that actually turns students into certified pilots. Seriously, every other school is amateur hour. If all you want is to get to the solo and get your video or photo or whatever, then fine, go to the steam gauge place with the overweight and apathetic or geriatric and incompetent instructors. These instructors and planes are TOP NOTCH. The Cessna 172's have traffic on the screen! This matters b/c you will not see a plane until it's a mile away. Seriously, it takes time to spot traffic, and I like knowing where planes around me are when I can't see them. Basically, you pay for what you get and aviation has an EIGHTY PERCENT wash-out rate. Therefore, getting your PPL will take longer and cost more than you think. But if you're serious about being the twenty percent that make it to the other side, this is the place.

It is a gamble,I know. People are SO picky about who is 'qualified' to touch their mane. Put me in…read morethe category of folks who firmly believe that it is just hair,if I do not like it,I am free to wash it out & start over again. I know just as many folks who have paid a lot to get their hair done as I know that did not pay much at all. So,I have NO problem with going to a school to have my hair done. If you go during the week,it is a LOT more like a school. One client, one student, getting it done. If you get there in a timely fashion, you will typically be assigned right away & will only be there for as long as it takes to get your hair done. The teachers are constantly roaming, offering advice, gentle enouragement & stepping in when necessary. The teacher who assigns will usually match you with a person who has the skillset to get the job done, carefully watching if they need help. There was a recent increase in prices that I have yet to see. The conditioner is no longer included in the basic $5 wash with style. So,it will cost you $8. Still not breaking the bank. If you go on Saturday AM,it is much more like being in a salon. The students only come if they need the hours or have nothing better to do. This is usually the better talent, but you might have about 2-4 other folks being worked by the same student. I have waited hours for someone to do my hair. The teachers are still attentive, though. What can get annoying on Saturday is that you can arrive shortly after 9 when they open & the teacher at the counter tells you they are already full. But,students could come in later, but she discouraged you from waiting. Another person comes a while later & are welcomed to stay. I wish they would implement a system to text you when someone is almost ready for you so you do not.lose your Saturday waiting in an area not suited for the volume. If I had a daughter, this would be her spot for hair,no point in stressing myself to do hair when I can give her bells & whistles for $5! When they take you back, they go ahead & take your payment so it is not a scramble at the end. Frustrating because if I am uneasy about the skill of the person,I will sometimes switch what I want them to do. But,refreshing in comparison to the way it is handled in the Perimeter location - if it gets late, they just come & tell you 'gimme yo money, its time for us to go'. Several of the other hairschools have gone up exponentially over the years,I have seen them all do it. This is one of the last that is still school prices.

I wanted an affordable silk press for the holidays and Kianna from Empire Beauty School delivered…read more It has been about nine years since I came to this location. They currently offer nail services and hair services such as perms, color services, silk presses, loc retwists, roller sets, sew ins , natural braids, natural twists and shampoo and blow dry. This location offers walk ins for services every other Saturday, so you should call in the day before to ensure that students are available for services. The pricing has been updated but is still very budget friendly. A silk press is $35 (or $45 if you add on a deep conditioning service). It is the luck of the draw that will determine your student stylist, but you can request a stylist if you like how they've done your hair. You just need to know their schedule. From my understanding as of December 2025, they offer services Tuesday through Friday from 9 AM to 12 PM and in the evening from 5 to 7:30 PM and they offer services from 9 AM to 12:30 PM on rotating Saturdays. They accept walk-ins only which is great for those who want to spontaneously come and get a style. Early arrival is recommended because of that system and services being dependent on student stylist availability. Remember this is a Hair school, so part of their day is focused on instruction or practice of certain skills and then they also get to practice on real clients that walk in. Based on my recent experience and my experiences in the past, I think you can't go wrong with a simple service such as a silk press or a shampoo and condition, especially for the price point.
