I highly recommend Richard (DJUK)! Richard was our wedding DJ at the Dana Point Yacht Club on July 25th. Richard was easy to communicate with, and really guided us through the reception song choices and schedule. Through the planning of the reception, Richard customized our genre of songs and truly got a good sense of the type of music we wanted to play and the environment that we wanted to create. We met with Richard a few months before our wedding, and he explained to us how we can achieve the (most) perfect reception that would reflect our music taste and style. In the months leading up to our wedding we stayed in contact via email, and slowly filled out our customized consultation form which included all key details of the reception. Richard guided us entirely through the whole reception timeline. He helped develop a reception schedule, highlighting each special event time. In the midst of planning a wedding, it was extremely helpful to have someone help with making these decisions. I credit this to Richard's expertise. He has a great grasp on what works, what is successful, and what creates the best wedding reception party! He even helped remind us to sit down and eat dinner! Once the reception party began, it was calming to know that Richard coordinated each part of the reception. We had a corporate event tonight (Holiday Party) and we utilized the services of KSDJ. I myself had to show up an hour or so early to set up for the event and it was refreshing to find the DJ already there - setting up well ahead of time. Our DJ was Barrett - a very clean cut professional who was well mannered throughout the evening and very good at his job. The night went without a hitch. Barrett kept the music tasteful for each segment of the night. He was very low-key throughout the evening - which was the perfect temperament for such an event. Further, KSDJ was very easy to deal with in setting up the event. It actually caught me off guard how simple the process was. It was evident from the first few minutes on the phone that they are a professional DJ service that knows their business well and is capable of delivering on their promises. We have interesting mix of cultures in our company. About 30% Spanish Speaking, 30% Country Music fans and the other 40% more into current pop/R&B music. Barrett did an excellent job of keeping everyone happy - a tough challenge with our crowd. The quality of the equipment (speakers and lights) was very good as well. The music had a great high quality sound and the lighting was super cool and caught many of our employees off guard (as this was the 1st year we've had that sort of thing). Everyone loved it!! We came across Kyle at a bridal show and love his attitude. We also research him here on yelp. He had many positive reviews so we decided to meet with him. We met at a Starbucks close to my work. He was very prompt and professional. He's very accommodating and made it very easy. He provides you with a word document where you enter all the information needed for the big day like names of bridesmaids, father of the bride, mother of the bride, etc. The document is pretty thorough. I also provided him with an excel spreadsheet of songs I wanted to hear during cocktail hours. Brides, when it come down to selecting songs, it's not that easy. It might be best to just go with what Kyle recommends. I had also hired another emcee who was multilingual for my family and husband's family so they would be able to understand. He was very accommodating and it made it less stressful. At one point, I cut off the the other emcee and he stepped in nicely. He selected a few great classic songs for my guests to dance to after the dinner. I enjoyed his picks. Then he transitioned in to hip hop/dance later on. Overall, I had a great experience with Kyle. I heard about Richard from KSDJ from a friend who had him DJ her wedding. I did not attend her wedding but decided to give him a call. He was very attentive and offered to meet for a consultation right away. He met me at the church where my ceremony and reception was going to be and he gave me his insights on where he thought everything should be set up. He has a great knowledge of these types of events. He was very thorough in asking what my fiance and I wanted, what music we liked, what types of dancing we were going to include. He was up-front with all pricing, fees, and information. We ended up also renting uplighting from him and it completely transformed the reception hall. He set up everything and got to the church hours before the reception. While he cleaned up, he left the music going so everyone working on cleaning up the hall would have some background music. From beginning to finish he was excellent. He is very charismatic and detail oriented. He kept the reception going at a wonderful pace and kept checking in with my mother, myself, and the photographers to keep us on track with the events of the evening. He asked for detailed lists of any songs I want played, any songs I for sure wanted to avoid, and any family relationships that may be worthy of a heads up. On March 26, 2016 me and my fiancé of three years tied the knot. Kyle was the DJ we chose for our special day. Planning a marriage and working with vendors is stressful enough, but that wasn't the case at all with Kyle. We met Kyle 10 months prior. My wife and I live in Orange County, but that didn't stop him from driving 50 miles to meet us in person. He was personable and professional. He asked some general questions to get a feel of what we were looking for. We provided him a reasonable deposit to guarantee his availability for the day. We planned on having our wedding at two venues, which could have been a logistical nightmare for some. Not for Kyle. From the point in which guests arrived to when my fiancé and I were introduced as husband wife, Kyle transitioned from one song to the next (17 songs total) following the lead of the officiant. The reception was held at a second venue. It was here that Kyle took the lead. Not only did he continue to play the preselected music that my fiancé and I chose, he acted as the MC doing all of the necessary introductions. On a side note, the day before our wedding my wife and I visited the second venue to assure that our laptop was compatible with the projector and to avoid any technical mishaps. We intended on sharing a video and a slide show with the guests. At the time everything worked. Unfortunately on the day of the wedding, although our laptop worked fine, there was no audio and eventually the projector completely died. My wife and I were quite frustrated to say the least. If Kyle wore a cape, I would call him Superman. Kyle came to the rescue with a projector of his own! Everything plugged right in and we got to share our video and slideshow. My wife and I are so happy that we hired Kyle. We had such a great experience working with him and we cannot thank him enough for coming to our rescue. Both Richard and ourselves had busy schedules initially, so it was a bit difficult to coordinate, but on the day itself he more than came through as a great vendor. We had him contracted for 5 hours, but given that many of our guests showed up earlier than we expected, he immediately took charge and began playing music prior to our ceremony to help set the mood. Our dinner also went a little longer than expected, and began overlapping with some of the events that had we had planned - he noticed this as well, and helped us do a quick reorganization of the order of events, and got the party back on track. This company was absolutely amazing to work with! We originally met with Barrett and he signed on to be our dj. Barrett, however, booking an acting job and was unable to dj our wedding. Kyle called us as soon as he found out and we arranged an appointment with another of the company's dj's (Sal). Sal was great.
