There is so much coordination involved with a wedding so it worked out perfectly that Kyle was a one-stop shop for the music and progression for the wedding which saved me a lot of time. To start the process Kyle will distribute forms to the couple that are very comprehensive and tells him everything he needs to know to tailor his coordination to your needs. This is then followed by a phone call with Kyle so that he may familiarize himself with you and go over the completed forms. Kyle was very personable on the phone and very easy to talk to. Next was the rehearsal in which he provides a very efficient workflow that is easy to follow which left everyone in the wedding party confident of their movements on the big day. We used Kyle for our November wedding. He was referred to us by the special events coordinator at our venue (Lawry's). Kyle was very helpful and professional right from the start. He met us at a Starbucks that was convenient for us. He gave us lots of information and gave us a questionnaire to fill out which helped him to get to know us better, and to give names of the members of the wedding party, etc. My husband and I spent many late nights making up our playlist, with many very specific songs. Kyle was accommodating as far as our special requests and what songs to play when. We used uplighting and purchased what is called a "gobo", which is a lit sign that projects onto the ceiling. The whole effect was very nice. While we weren't present during the seating or the cocktail hour to hear what music was played, we did note a couple of things during the reception. Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond started playing at one point...my husband and I looked at each other because neither of us had put this on our playlist. We weren't sure if maybe he played this to get a feel for the crowd (if it might get them on the dance floor) or what. During much of the reception, the volume of the music was fairly low. I heard from one guest that they liked this, because they were able to easily talk with the other people at their table. For us, the low volume meant we were unable to hear what songs were being played while we greeted our guests. There were a couple of important songs that we didn't hear at all, and we aren't sure if it is because they weren't played or because we just didn't hear them. The only big negative was there was audio feedback at the beginning of our ceremony, but it was fixed right away. I will also note that Kyle was our most expensive vendor, aside from the venue itself, due to the uplighting and the gobo. Overall, we were happy with the services he provided. read more

We met Kyle (KSDJ) at a local bridal show. It's funny that they call these bridal shows, with so many guys there. I'm glad I went and had a chance to see the different types of djs that are out there. Some seem like real douchey attention whores that like to hear themselves on the mic (like YOUR wedding is THEIR night). ...Then there's Kyle. As a salesman myself, I've gotta admit, Kyle has a great pitch. He hands out flyers asking you to take time out of your schedule, so he can take you for a coffee at Starbucks and discuss your needs. Even if you end up walking away, at least you got a cup of coffee. You walk in thinking the DJ plays the music and emcees the night's events, and then Kyle educates you...or well, he educated me anyway. He told me how important it is for a good dj to communicate with wedding coordinator, photographers and so on so that everyone was in place, aware and ready for things like the father-daughter dance, the cake cutting and more...he's doing far more than just playing your music...he's helping to choreograph your perfect night. He told us of how he'd be there to help put out any fires that may occur and referred to a previous wedding where there was a power outage and he literally went to Home Depot to get generators for power. A quick peek at a previous Yelp review and the story is confirmed by the bride. Fortunately for us, there were no disasters, but he was still there offering my bride and I the even the simplest of services, making sure we were good on drinks, were happy with the schedule, etc. Me, I only had one real request...I wanted to hear some Snoop Dogg.
