They were really nice, with a clean subtle flavor - way better than bland grits I've had at diners in the past. The highlight of my meal was the golden waffle, though! A real highlight of our meal was when the owner stopped by our table to check on us and chat about the restaurant. That kind of genuine hospitality makes a huge difference. These tamales are made with yellow corn meal and simmered in a WELL seasoned broth! These tamales were so seasoned, warm, and good. I only wish it had a little more meat. But overall they were perfect. I got a half dozen for $9.99. The menu had other items as well. I ordered a mango lemonade. My lemonade was so tasty! The service was fast and friendly. While we were eating, the people sitting behind us called the manager out to complain about the employee and when he asked us how we were I asked him if I could change out the item I didn't like for the item I wanted. He didn't hesitate and didn't even ask me to pay extra, which I offered. The food was hot and fresh. Great value for the price. We would definitely return not only for the food but for the manager. When we left, the employee who had been taking orders was no longer there. The restaurant was clean.
