Leaving the choice to my daughter and her boyfriend, The Lazy Frog, being the new place in town,…read morewas chosen as the place where where the traditional "meet the parents" summit between the aforementioned couple, his parents, and me would take place. Yes, my ex wife was there, too. The hostess greeted us pleasantly, and easily seated all six of of us, in spite of there being a fair number of others, several of whom were seated at the bar. The warm, but muted, lighting was consistent throughout the dining area. She took our drink orders, promptly serving them, in the same way, albeit, incorrectly. Then, we waited, with cordial small talk filling the void. We continued to wait, as the small talk, now punctuated with laughter, continued. Finally, the waitress took our orders, although no less than two of our party had to resort to second, and even third, choices, due to the unavailability of their selected menu items. For my part, I chose the eight once sirloin steak, with mashed potato's and fried okra, at $13.99, along with their signature appetizer, Frog legs, at $16.99. The sweet tea, which had been refilled several times up to this point, was $3.15. The small talk and laughter resumed for another twenty five minutes, or so, at which point I felt obligated to remind everyone that our children had chosen this particular dining experience, generating more laughter. Just as the laughter began to fade, the appetizers were served. The lightly breaded frogs legs were, were quite tasty, with an appropriately firm texture. A horse radish based dipping sauce, adding a slight "kick" to the legs was served on the side. Shortly after the appetizer plates were empty, the entrees' arrived, mine initially lacking the fried okra. It did come later, though. Now, I want to take a moment to address presentation. An eight ounce steak, sitting alone on a large plate, really doesn't look like much, even though I found it to be properly prepared (medium rare, of course) with the right texture and peppery seasoning. The creamy, whipped, potatos were served on the side, as was the better late than never, breaded and fried to perfection, okra. If placed all together on the plate, I may have had to break etiquette, and pull out my phone to snap a picture. Let me emphasize, it didn't look like much; but, it certainly left me feeling full. A few others in our party did request take home boxes, which seemed to confirm a general fullness of stomach. In closing, if you have all day, and favor an adquate meal, it may be worthwhile to give The Lazy Frog a try.

This is good, consistent, local Gray, GA restaurant and bar. Service is always good, food is good…read more Great fillet and pork-chop. Pork-chop is huge! Good happy hour items as well.
