I had the amazing opportunity to go on vacation with my nana but my puppy Milo was on crate rest in recovering following his surgery, so I was nervous in having him stay during the day while my dad was at work, however I will absolutely be using Kryder Kritter again! They took such care in offering my sweet Milo enrichment, sniffing time, and cuddles. Truly, made me feel okay being away from him! Also, I looked forward to the report cards each day. Update: I heard from kryder kritter hotel and they were very apologetic about the below negative experience. They remedied the situation right away and it was handled very professionally. I wrote up the entire situation below but I figured I'd offer a TLDR; for anyone who doesn't want to read the whole thing: During Thanksgiving we boarded our corgi for 6 days at Kryder. When we picked him up he had a bladder infection due to a bladder stone blocking his urethra, causing a lot of pain and making him pretty lethargic. The stones were not caused by Kryder, but the infection and micro-tears in the bladder due to the amount of urine being stored were brought on by the neglect and indifference of Kryder's staff. Our dog could not be picked up and his stomach was very hard due to these issues. We trust these people with our pets and pay them well for it- they should at the very least make sure that our pets are healthy and attend to their needs. Kryder will not take any responsibility for this issue or for the financial burden that it has placed on us. Full information: My wife and I boarded our two small sized dogs here over the Thanksgiving holiday- from Tuesday to Sunday. Our corgi came out of the kennel when we picked them up walking slowly and was very lethargic. When we went outside he peed (well, he stopped to do so) and then got in the car. That night he laid around panting heavily for several hours, which we chalked up to being exhausted, we noticed that he was dripping urine whenever he did get up, that his stomach was hard, and that he was in severe pain. After taking him outside to use the bathroom we confirmed that he was unable to relieve himself and we decided to take him to the ER vet in Mishawaka. Kryder didn't notice any of his issues. According to Dr. Merced @the ER vet (and confirmed by our regular vet,) he had a bladder stone blocking his urethra and as such was unable to express himself. The doctor let us know that he had clearly not relieved himself in days due to the blockage and that he was going to require a cath, an overnight stay, and potentially surgery due to the issue (surgery would not have been preventable by Kryder- we haven't needed it yet but may need it in the future.) They could not get the cath in while our dog was awake and had to sedate him. After putting the cath in it was discovered that he has a bladder infection and "micro-tears" in his bladder that cause heavy bleeding in his urine. He was cathed from late Sunday through Tuesday afternoon and his urine was blood red the entire time. He has been placed on antibiotics. Our stay at Kryder Kritter Hotel ended up costing us a total of $1,652.24: Kryder Kritter Hotel: $216.00 ER Vet: $1,197.70 Our regular Vet: $238.54 Some of this money would have needed to be spent regardless of Kryder's negligence due to our dog's condition (the bladder stones), but it would have only been a fraction of the cost (the boarding fee and a portion of the vet fees.) I called Kryder to bring this issue to their attention and to request that they cover some of the costs for this incident. I spoke with Hannah over the phone who, after checking with the other manager, simply said "sorry, not sure what we can do. We didn't notice the issue and it existed before your dog came here." I'm amazed that a company like Kryder doesn't have staff in place to identify these issues when they arise and to act on them. Their negligence in this situation resulted in us paying a lot more in vet bills than we would have needed to pay otherwise. read more

I don't usually write reviews but I feel like I should in this case. We took our dog here on a Tuesday and picked her up on a Saturday. She looks to have lost about 10lbs and won't eat anything. Now I can't get anyone to answer the phone. We will never take our dog back to this place! read more

Very nice clean facility. My dog is well taken care of and love playing with the other dogs. The staff is friendly and very attentive I highly recommend boarding here. My German Shepard has happily stayed here when I travel and we are so relieved to have a safe place to leave her, where she is happy and well cared for! read more

You cannot trust these people to take care of your animal. Over priced and my dogs both had kennel cough when they returned home. They do not clean their facility enough to prevent disease. Find another kennel that actually cares for your animal. read more

I've used Kryder for boarding my 85 pound German Shepherd several times over the past 5+ years and I've never had a problem! Their drop off and pick up times can be a bit inconvenient (closing at noon on Saturdays and only being open from 4-6 for pick up on Sundays), but more often than not it comes in handy when I'm out of town and can't get there at the crack of dawn! Thinking back, there was a time or two that I noticed my dog being a little hoarse, but I know she's a barker, so I was honestly not that surprised. With her most recent visit, I picked her up after the long Labor Day weekend (I couldn't get her until Tuesday since they weren't open on Monday), and was told she had a slight case of diarrhea, but they gave her a bath to clean her up and a few packets of probiotics for free to get her on the path to feeling better. I was so grateful for that extra step that they took! read more

Really wonderful people, they take great care of our dog Murphy, he is always happy to walk in and hang out with the care-takers and the other dogs. When we pick him up he has had a bath and he's ready to come home. Plus the Sunday pick-up hours are wonderful. We arrange our schedule to be back in town after a week-end to get him home with us on Sunday night. Thanks to everyone who works in this wonderful facility. read more

I had never borded my dogs (2 of them) at this particular place before, but was told it was a decent place so we decided to try it out. I called to inquire about prices, was given a quote and made my reservation. Bad decision on my part. When we dropped them off, I gave the attendant my phone number, my husband's number and the number of the family member we were visiting. I also left their shot records (that the facility requires to have). When I picked them up (at 5 pm) their blanket tht we had left was in the washing machine. We were told that we could pick it up the next day, which is quite an inconvience since we do not live close by (about a 1/2 hour to 45 minute drive). They also lost their shot records (but insisted that I had not left them there, of course). We then asked if there had been any problems at all, and were told no. When we paid, we were charged a day extra, and when I asked she said it was policy. I didn't argue, just happy to have my dogs and I just wanted to go home (it had been a long holiday). When we arrived home I noticed that my smaller dog had a bloody nose. When I called to inquire about it, I was told that they didn't know there was a problem and they would have to call me back. They then called me back and informed me that she had scraped her nose on the bars, but they didn't feel it was an issue and so didn't tell us about it. I asked to speak to a manager and was informed that there wasn't one available. I wasn't asked to leave a message, nor was I asked to call back. When my other dog began eating twice the amount he usually does I had concerns. I ended up feeding him 3 times that night and twice the next day before he started acting normal. I understand that some dogs eat very little when seperated from their family, but this was ridiculous. We had never had that problem with any other kennel before. Again I called and again I was told that there was no manager available for me to talk to. I was again not asked to leave a message. Today I called again and asked to speak with a manager. I was told that the manager was not there (again), but this time they took my name, phone number and the issues I was calling about. About an hour later the same person that I spoke with earlier called me and told me that they "couldn't reach the manager, so she was taking the issues in her own hands". She then made excuses for every single issue I had. I made it clear I was not trying to get a refund, I simply wanted to express concerns to the management. I was told that they would try to reach him again. I still haven't heard anything, and I am still very upset that I was never told about the problems the dogs were having and that they acted as if nothing was wrong, let alone the fact that they didn't feel the need to call me and tell me that my one dog was injured and the other wasn't eating. I would highly suggest finding another kennel. Yes, Kryder is cheap, but obviously you get what you pay for in that place. I will not be using them again, nor will anyone in my family. I will not give them a good recommendation to anyone. read more

I would not recommend this kennel for you pet. They have several younger rude girls working the kennel. My dog was there for two days and she was never got her dog bed and she came home with ulcers on her elbows plus after we returned home we found out the had kennel cough and she brought it home to my other dog as well. Love this facility. The staff is amazing and they really pay attention to detail and know my dogs names when I walk in. Have always gone above and beyond to accommodate my pets needs. My 2 Beagles have stayed here several times and I have never encountered any problems. Yes, as one reviewer noted, their dog came home with a hoarse bark. My younger Beagle does the same thing, but I know it's from separation anxiety. They have always treated my dogs very well, and although it's a little pricey, I feel that my dogs are in good hands when they are at Kryder. read more

Basic but good boarding for all sorts of pets. You won't find TVs in individual cages or dog beds that look like miniature people beds, but if you want your pet well cared for and having a pretty nice time while you're gone, Kryder Kritter is great. The facility is clean (you can see into all the areas where pets are kept, including the cat room, reptile room, and don't miss the pen with the heat lamps and giant turtles!). My dog is always super excited to get there, running right into the open arms of the staff, and then super excited when I pick her up--exactly the way it should be! read more

I had used Kryder Kritter Hotel for many years but that ends now! After picking my dogs up from a three day stay, I phoned Kryder to find out what had happened to my dog as he was not himself. The girl answering the phone said nothing happened. After two more days my dog was whimpering every time he moved so we made an appointment at the vet for the next day. But when we woke up the nextorning my dining room was a mess, diarrhea with lots of blood, very scary. Find out at the vet that he has whipworm. So I called Kryder again and the owner wasn't in. Took him another day to call back. In all my encounters with people who have animals they are always compassionate about their pet and all other animals. Well, this is not the case with the owner at Kryder, he could have cared less, said it wasn't from their kennel. Did I fail to mention that my dog has not been anywhere else that he could have contracted whipworm? The owner at Kryder did not care at all. Do yourself a favor and do NOT take your pets to Kryder Kritter Hotel. Unless of course you want to spend hundreds of dollars at your vet. read more
