I have three words for OCG Detailing - Do Not Hesitate!…read more I did extensive research on ceramic coating and PPF (paint protection film aka clear bra), and agonized for weeks on getting both done. I read all the pros and cons, the process, maintenance, and the cost, until my eyes stung! We even met several detailers to see their work, and gain a better understanding. When I called Ivan to arrange a time to meet, he told us to come and have a look at a car that had both processes done. First off, Ivan is extremely experienced, knowledgeable, patient, and passionate about detailing. He is humble, non-judgmental and unfazed by reviews. He feels personal references and word of mouth are more important, and I totally agree. We were excited to see the car he was near completing, and were blown away by what we saw, the meticulous detailed workmanship that goes into applying PPF and ceramic coating. I thought I was detail-oriented, until I met Ivan! He sees flaws that most people do not with the human eye. He is very particular, and takes great pride in detailing. I knew he would take care of my husband's baby - LOL! Ivan's auto shop is clean, modern, and spotless, with bright spotlights in the working areas. More importantly, cars are kept inside, and there is ample space to work on each one. I had done my research on the top three PPF products: 3M, XPEL and STEK. I thought I had narrowed it down to XPEL, but after discussing it with Ivan, we chose to go with STEK. For the ceramic coating, Ivan uses Opti-Coat, and is an authorized installer. I have to say, we felt very reassured with Ivan, but I was still nervous. I had a gazillion questions, and Ivan always answered all my texts. He even called us to ask if we had time to stop by; there were a few spots on our SUV that were questionable, and he wanted to let us know. He kept us informed throughout the seven-day process! Yes, you heard right! Ivan worked on our SUV for one full week! He sent us videos of the progress, and on the day it was finished, it looked unbelievably stunning. He went over what was done, explained the care, maintenance and warranty, and had us inspect our SUV once again, in broad daylight. The two processes are very pricey, so it is best to understand the maintenance and commitment required. I know we made the right choice, but more importantly, we found a fantastic detailer that put 110% percent into making us happy. Thanks so much to Ivan and his team!

The wash took 1 hour for each car and we were so surprised at the quality of exterior clean the basic wash had! Of course the outside of the car was very sparkling clean, but the details like within our tires and door jams were also extremely clean. I loved that they dried the car thoroughly to ensure there were no watermarks or drips as you would drive away - mainly happens in the trunk or mirror cap area, but these areas were really well dried and cleaned. His prices are fair, I've made the mistake of going to the dealership and those shops where you sit in your car while they change the oil and don't tighten the drain plug that then leaks all over the driveway, or round over the head on the oil pan plug. Andrew's dad is there in the morning in an emergency and may be able to drop you off at home/Go station. ( A very nice thing) We don't always know when our vehicle will be unco-operative. They also have comfy chairs to wait and work on your laptop from, or Mo's restaurant makes a great breakfast around the corner within the complex. (I know, that's why I'm this size.)

RED FLAG FOR TESLA OWNERS…read more I selected this body shop because they claimed to be a Tesla-approved facility. I explained from the start that I was not at fault in the accident and that insurance would be covering the repair. They told me to let insurance handle it, so I did. They never gave me any estimate, invoice, or notification of any out-of-pocket costs. They went ahead with repairs without my approval for anything not covered by insurance. After nearly 45 days of delays--saying the insurance company "wasn't responding"--I was suddenly told that I now have to pay whatever the insurance won't cover or they won't release my car. This was the first time I heard about any personal charges. Very poor communication and zero transparency. Tesla owners, consider this a major red flag.

Keep your car far away from these people. They will act one way before you drop off your car & then…read morewhen they have it will just string you along with their ridiculous repair process. They have you sign paperwork before they give you an estimate for work, say they will have to take apart your car as well, before even giving a rough cost. They will tell you there's hidden damage when there clearly isn't. Once the paperwork is signed and your car taken apart good luck getting out the situation. I suggest getting second third opinions before taking your car here even if you just walk in somewhere else with photos. They don't do body repair only replace every single part even if it can be repaired with complete disregard for cost and environmental effects. They claim it's to return to factory specs however I've seen other shops repair to perfection while maintaining cost efficiency. They will submit a ridiculous amount of work to your insurance company & when the insurance company refuses to pay such ridiculous amounts, they will hold your car for months (not even joking) to get the payment from your insurance. They will tell you to pay thousands of dollars if you want your car back and then tell you to ask your insurance for money back, which you most likely will not get. They will tell you your insurance company is taking too long to come see your car, and place blame on appraisers however I've seen other body shops complete many major repairs in just 1-3 weeks, return your vehicle and receive payment shortly after repairs. They have problems with payments because instead of repairing and billing according to industry standards they will go out of their way to bill your insurance a ridiculous amount before work is even complete, feeling they are superior to every other shop. This is not normal. This includes charging abnormal labor rates for the industry, lots of shops will repair according to the maximum labor rates approved by insurance companies. They will not be upfront about repair time, they will tell you 3 weeks and take 3 months. A normal shop might tell you a couple days and then end up taking a few extra days which is common as there may be unforeseen circumstances. They will not check the status on parts before bringing your car in. Your car will sit there waiting for parts with no one working on it. Don't trust a word from reception as they are completely out of the loop and lack knowledge of repair processes and parts status. They will send you updates that are far from accurate giving false hope of timeline. When you text them you can tell different people are answering as some put no effort into their replies and often misspell simple words. They will not even give you an estimate to respray a brand new part as per your request. They will advise the part will need to be installed and other panels blended and then refuse the work rather than just advising their opinion and following customer directions. They advise you to send photos of a brand new bumper for a spray and install quote??????? Clearly avoiding any work that they cannot exacerbate pricing. This is not a customer focused body shop, they will scam you right in front of your eyes. You will end up with thousands of dollars in rental if you have an at fault claim. Once all is said and done, your car will continue to go back for minor repairs and rental will be out of pocket. Their office staff is rude and seriously lack customer service and morals. They don't even care to spell your name or company name correctly on formal paperwork. When you raise any concerns or call more than once or twice you will get yelled at and disrespected. They talk negatively about customers in front of other customers. They talk negatively about each other as well. Beware of positive reviews as they will pick and choose who's repairs to expedite depending on your vehicle, insurance company, or relationship to staff. Doesn't matter who referred you, insurance, a dealership; if you own your car you can fix it wherever you choose, please look elsewhere.

Dealing with Modern Automotive Technology on Confederation Pkwy in Concord, Ontario (owned by Maxim "Max" Voloshin) has been one of my worst experiences. When I went there I told them that the problem was probably the radar unit because another mechanic had told me that. The initial problem was that multiple warnings were constantly being displayed on my dash. They tried to repair the problem without replacing the radar unit and charged me hundreds of dollars. It worked for two days. I brought it back a second time and at that point they said I needed a new radar unit. I decided to go ahead with that. After spending another few hundred dollars the problem was still not fixed. At that point they told me the windshield had to be replaced because there is a camera in the windshield. I did not trust them to continue working on my car so I had the windshield changed with another company. The problem still was not solved, so they were wrong about changing the windshield. I finally brought it to Markham Honda and they said the radar unit was not installed properly, was damaged and would have to be replaced again a second time. They also said the harness was damaged by the previous shop (Modern Automotive). It is working now but they said the damage to the harness might need to be repaired in the future which would cost $5800.
