A lot of companies say they're open 24/7 but a lot of them couldn't get us until Monday or later. B&L was able to send a tech out Sunday morning. The weekend trip rate is $139. Nate came out and was able to get our hot water working but the valve needed replacing and so did another older pressure valve connected to the city line. Instead of charging us weekend fees they were able to schedule is on Monday for regular rates and no additional trip fee. Regular M-F trip fee is $89. All work is trip fee plus the repair. Rick showed up on Monday and rock starred the repairs. According to my plumber friend their rates are reasonable so we'll be saving them for any future work.

Technician wants to cut a hole in the wall behind the shower to try to get into the pipes another way, for another $400+. They cut into my wall and find that the piping isn't what they expected and they can't find the vent pipe they were looking for. Thankfully the extra $400+ charge was cleared from the invoice, but I'm told they'll need to run back to the office after taking pictures and alluded to the need for a complete removal of the enclosing shower walls to take out the shower pan. Said they'll call me back to go over the next steps. A week goes by and I've heard nothing. After spending more than $300 and *still* having to put up with a clogged shower drain, I try taking matters into my own hands again. One pump with a plunger, and the clog is gone. Wish I'd tried that before I asked for a plumber to come by. The pricing isn't outrageous and the technician was polite, but the lack of follow-up for what turned out to be a simple fix has cemented a poor experience.

They sent me an invoice for 1 at $250, which seemed like a flat rate, which is how plumbers prefer to get paid because it is effectively a higher bill rate. I called to clarify the bill and Sean called me back after about a week. He seemed peeved from the start that he had to talk to me. I asked about the time and materials vs the flat fee and he said, "Oh well it took 2 hours and the pipe was $50." Which may be true but seemed very convenient. I told him the tenant said they were only there for 20 minutes. He raised his voice and said they must have gone to the store to get piping, which was true. He then raised his voice more and said "You told me you would pay and you better." I said, "Let's dial it down, Sean, you sent me a bill with incorrect details and I am sorting it out." He said, "You better pay and that's it. Give me your credit card right now." I was driving in the snow and hung up on him. I paid the bill when I got home. Sean, if you would be more careful with your paperwork, then none of this would have happened. Yell that at yourself or your staff instead of losing your cool with customers. The very next…read moremorning, we contacted Ace at Water Heater Pros, and from that point on, the experience was exceptional. Ace arrived at our home within an hour of our call. We texted pictures and specifics of our prior water heater's failure which helped him have our old water heater removed and a higher-quality Rheem water heater installed in about 40 minutes. It was incredible to watch how efficiently and professionally he worked. We were amazed to have hot water restored so quickly. What impressed us even more was that Water Heater Pros' pricing was right in line with--or even less than--several competitors we contacted. The difference was that those companies couldn't schedule a replacement for anywhere from two days to nearly a week, while Ace had us back up and running the same morning. Ace was professional, knowledgeable, honest, and took the time to answer all of our questions. He also discussed our home's high water pressure and made recommendations to help protect the new water heater and extend its lifespan. It was clear that he genuinely cares about doing the job right, not just getting in and out as quickly as possible. The installation was neat, clean, and professionally done, and the entire work area was spotless when he finished. If you're looking for a company that offers fair pricing, exceptional service, rapid response, and quality workmanship, I can't recommend Ace and Water Heater Pros highly enough. They turned what could have been a stressful, days-long inconvenience into one of the smoothest home repair experiences we've ever had. Five stars all the way. Thank you, Ace!

They also installed two new faucets. He was friendly but very overpriced. I was desperate with no sink and I think he sensed it. Charged me $800 and was at the house for 2 hours. When I asked him why he charges $400/hr he just shrugged and said that's my rate, knowing I had no other convenient options. (BTW, I bought the garbage disposal and faucets myself at Lowe's. He only installed them.) This was enough to make me never use him again. However, in the past several months two of the joints on the line from the disposal and the other sink have literally come loose (as in come apart) because they were not adequately tightened) causing water to flow suddenly from the cupboard into the kitchen and the utility line in the basement. I wish Nate no ill, but he needs to adjust his thinking about quality and value if he is going to stay in business.
