Driving along Krome we decided we needed something to eat. Not in the mood for fast food,he pulled up to this gas station. I thought maybe he was just grabbing some jerky or something but nope,he walled out with a pork sandwich. We devoured it in the parking lot and that was it for me. This was the Best pork sandwich I've ever tasted. Maybe it was the freshly baked Cuban bread,the chopped raw onions or the slather of mayo BUT this roasted pork was tender, juicy, and Perfectly seasoned and it all went so well together! We shared one sandwich and were stuffed. Next day we headed back to Krome just for the same sandwich. Best damn $5 I ever spent,lol. And we still share just one sandwich because it's so overly stuffed that half is all you need. This is a gas station and a popular stop for truckers so there's a lot of people here. There are two sides to this gas station. On one side is where you can buy plates of food, sandwiches, fresh natural juices, and fruits and veggies. Other side is the convenient store side where you can pay for gas, soda, juice, beer, and other beverages. They also have your typical snacks, ice, tobacco products, gums etc. They also had plain color T-shirts, tank tops,hats and even boots for purchase. On the food side there are tables and a counter in case you want to eat here but I suggest grab and go so you can devour the food as you please. read more

Anyone who has a bad experience here probably is not working class and definitely a goodie two shoes. I've traveled across the country and the place is a five. Come see for yourself and enjoy working USA. I love the people that come here and the staff. Definitely a diverse culture. The line was outside wrapped around corner waiting to get in. This place is truly a jewel,!!! a well kept local secret of homestead. LOL if you are into ambiance this place is not for you. however, if you are a foody or into great, homemade fresh food do yourself a favor and stop here. there is limited sitting is more like a Latin truck stop or farm workers heaven very low key, a sit in the counter or take out type of place,although there are like 3 booths . the food is amazing. I had to laugh at that other review that said this is a hit or miss place..there is such a quick turn around with the food is always fresh. I moved from homestead to WA, and i am craving s their chilidron de chivo as i sit here writing this review...amazing. This place is hit or miss! One dAy you get a delicious pork or steak sandwich then the next time you go back you try the chicken or rubber steak or the congri that's rock hard from sitting in the window heat so I can't really predict if I'm going to have a delicious meal or one that tastes 2 days old, plus if you're picky the ambience is totally not the right place! My boyfriend is a truck driver and every time we go to the Florida keys to deliver a load we stop in this little "truck stop". Our last trip we stopped 4 times in 3 days and this trip, twice in 24 hours. They have amazing Cuban food. Definitely a must stop if you're in the area! Hidden treasure in an Exxon station. After tasting a friend's pan con lechon from the cafeteria hidden in the gas station, I drove miles out of my way in rush hour to secure the sandwich for dinner the following night. I could eat these every day. The other food looked incredible, too. A huge cafeteria-like selection of all cuban delicacies and it's for sale by the pound. Clean little operation with huge selection of breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. Cuban bread for sale, too. Great cuban coffee. This little gas station spot is my find of the year! read more
