He was super accommodating and told me to let him know when we were finally allowed in our house and he would come over. Fast forward to the day we closed, he stopped by at 4:30 pm and was extremely friendly and attentive to our needs. He had to rekey 5 doors in total in an almost 100-year old house. Not an easy thing to do! He was at our home for about 3 hours working away and we were grateful for his service and for allowing us to feel safe in our new home right away. As new homeowners who just dropped a lot of money during closing, we were a little sticker shocked at the total cost, but he was well worth it and he put in a LOT of time and effort re-keying our doors...so we expected to pay a little over $300 anyways. When Tom and Ben arrived, they introduced themselves with handshakes and smiles, and then Tom proceeded to not miss a beat: he roll on the ground under the partially open door, assessed the situation within minutes, popped up standing on the other side to explain what he and Ben were going to do. The door was bent, the track was bent, and several wheels were dangling. We, for sure, thought we had to replace the whole door. Not at all. In less than an hour, the two remarkably trained, seasoned technicians, had our door repaired with 10 new wheels, 2 new sets of cables, and 2 new metal corner door plates for an exceedingly reasonable cost! Mike called around 10 AM to tell me he was on his way. I had a problem with the opener not always closing; and, of course, it was working fine that day. Mike checked the sensors which were slightly off line which meant the eye sensor did not always connect. Mike adjusted the sensors, checked the connections, lubricated all moving parts on door and ceiling unit. Everybody was efficient, professional and cordial. I have been doing business with Action Door since the early 70's for residential and business. I have always been treated with excellent service. I don't know what other companies charge, so I can not compare. I know when I have a problem, it will be taken care of.

Me: "No, don't cancel." AD: "But you said you were gonna call someone else. I need to free up the appointment if you're not going to show." Me: "I will call and cancel IF I find someone else." AD: "If you're just going to cancel again, I'll cancel you now." Me: "I DIDN'T CANCEL THE FIRST TIME. KEEP THE APPOINTMENT. I WON'T CALL ANYONE ELSE." He sounded offended that, after a scheduling error on their part and waiting two weeks for an appointment, I would look around for something earlier. I've had good service from them before. Owner came out March 22, 2026., The door opened up for about 4 days with his 5 minute repair and charged me $65.00. I called him back out 3 other times for the same reason, as the eyes on the door would not allow the door to open or close correctly. The last time owner came out he stated he could not fix any longer, so I requested my money back. He basically stated just pull up the eyes, and the door should work. (uh). that lasted about a day or 2. I called him the 3rd time and i asked for the owner because the door would not close correctly because of the eyes on the door were not correct. The person who answered the phone stated he was the Owner, and he hung up the phone.., (WOW). I called Steel Valley Garage door 330-459-6522 where I found them on Facebook, and they came right out, ASAP., adjusted and moved the eyes on the doors and put oil in the door and corrected the problem and only charged $59.00.

The guy who answered the phone explained that the control board was bad and that they would not repair it, rather they suggested that I buy an new unit from them for about $600 dollars. Instead I called another more professional garage door repair company and all it took was about 20 minutes of work and they got the door working better then before it stopped. Cost was about $90. I would advise being careful when contacting East Side Garage Door for service; my experience was that rather then scheduling service they tried to upsell me a way too expensive solution to the rather simple problem.
