Instacart! I had an order on Sunday for 10-12 , I suddenly opened my emails around -10-10:30 and an email from Kroger that my order had been canceled no explanation why! I called Instacart #, they could not reach person who was supposed to deliver. Just said Store closed???? It opens at 7 AM. Irresponsible person I'm sure did not pay attention to DAYLIGHT SAVINGS!!!! for this service (Instacart) not so much for Kroger in general. read more

I was at Kroger for a few items '7' to be exact.The self checkout stopped and said I needed a employee? Turns out I was being accused of shoplifting. The employee had to rewind tape,Then count my items. I was embarrassed and upset because the line was long in self checkout.They never have enough cashiers.As you can imagine I was upset with the whole ordeal especially having to explain to my 7yr.old grandson what was happening.I don't truthfully think I will shop Kroger again.I really did like this store sales,gas rewards,fresh great produce. I will go where I can shop without fear of being called out for something like this. I can't be the only one this happened to. Kroger get your act together and treat your customers better and hire more cashiers !!! read more

The. Worst. And not even the first, second, or third time. Because of this I try to get pick up in Harrisonburg now and it has NEVER been even close to this bad. I know my order is ready, because I have been charged, but I am still waiting a half an hour later. The absolute worst and I will never shop here again. Horrible. By the way, my pick up time was supposed to be between 5-6 pm. It's 6:15. The worst. Edited to add that a young lady has now come out twice to encourage people to pick up their groceries tomorrow. I asked if I could just come in and get mine because I knew the order was ready. She said I could go in and shop for my order. It seemed like a huge waste of time, to me, for her to talk to every car rather than help get the orders ready. The only positive was the young lady who brought our order to the care, Chadee (sorry if I misspelled) was efficient, friendly, and apologetic. Lesson learned. I will not shop in Staunton anymore. read more

Re Staunton, Va store: The new carts with the locks on the wheels are a bad idea. No signage to tell you you can't take the carts to your car, if your car is not down the south side of the parking lot. Once locked up, the cart is immovable. Good luck saving money when the clerks responsible for bringing the carts back quit! read more

I specifically go to Staunton Kroger for the boars head meat in the deli but I can only shop on Sunday afternoon. Website lists deli hours until 7 pm but when I got there at 3:45 pm was informed deli was closed. WTF ?? Update the website if you're gonna close earlier than posted hours !! Also do not like the organization of the store and narrow aisles. Looks like Food Lion will get my grocery $$ in future !! read more

I had no issues with this store whatsoever. I went in, they had everything I was looking for, and the checkout process was smooth. They had a good selection. Some of the items I was looking for in the produce section were low in stock but that's okay. I was still able to get what I needed. The parking lot is actually pretty easy to navigate as well. I found that the lot directly in front of the store looked packed so I parked off to the side and I was still very close and I was able to park in some shade. The employees were friendly. read more

Adequate grocery store- I was able to find everything I needed for my stay. The bakery is lacking, hubby grabbed a loaf of Italian Bread & it was a brick of dense bread- nothing like it should be. read more

Regarding the pharmacy: absolutely terrible experience every time I need medications filled. When I call in prescriptions, they give day and time it'll be ready and it almost never is ready. When I try to call them to speak to pharmacist, it rings nonstop and I can't ever talk to anyone. The line is usually half way down the freezer aisle and they have such limited hours as it is. Do not consider using this pharmacy. read more

This HAS to be the worst Krogers in the country. First, who designed the parking lot? It is always a maze, with pedestrians trying to get across traffic and cars driving in from different directions. The front entrance is cluttered with different products, or snow shovels, outdoor furniture, pumpkins. Craziness. Then ALL of the carts ate jammed into the entryways, stuck together. Every aisle has promotional displays, creating single lanes so people have to walk around them. The bakery is often short-staffed, meaning no one is there. The deli is understaffed, so the staff is short-tempered and often a line of customers. One day I went in to buy a rotisserie chicken at 5:30 and was told they weren't going to be cooking anymore that day. Huh? Every supermarket in America cooks rotisseries from 4-7. read more

Always out of sale items, when they get brand new items and give out promotional coupons, they never often do not have the product, and the coupon runs out before you can use it. Pharmacy deplorable-one person working the register and giving out the prescriptions while three or four people walk around in the back laughing and talking. I have waited as much as 25 minutes in line waiting for pick up and the line is down to the deli! Often out of medications you have prescription for. One guy riding around on the handicap carts running into people and standing around sipping sodas when he is supposed to be getting carts from the parking lot! A lot of times they are completely out of the small carts, which people prefer over the junky big carts that only make left turns and the wheels have chunks out of them and sound like a CSX coming down the track. Store is much too crowded with impulse junk all over the aisles, which are too small for two carts to pass. Items instead of being put on the shelves, the shelves remain empty and the boxes and crates of items are just plopped down on the floor in front of the shelves. How are you supposed to find anything? This has got to be a fire marshal issue if not just plain laziness. Popular items more often than not are not available-shelves are empty. Shelves are not replenished and stock pulled forward. Often you have to crawl around on the floor or stand up on shelves (that's really safe) to reach items. If you order items you need from customer service and they get them in, they put them out on the shelves and don't put them aside for the customer who ordered them. The pick-up service and online shopping is often inaccurate and not worth the effort. Fish and seafood department often smells like last week's catch in the August sun. You can smell it clear out the front doors! The meat and seafood is not fresh, is slimy when you take it out of the package. When this store remodeled they did a beautiful job, but it looks like everyone involved just dropped the ball and stopped caring. Just not worth the trip. read more
