I enjoy shopping at this Kroger location off Lake Shore Drive, across from Lake Front Park. It is a good medium-sized neighborhood supermarket for St. Clair Shores and Grosse Pointe residents. I get fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, meats, seafood, and frozen food here. Among the meat and seafood, I have bought the BBQ pork belly and lemon pepper salmon, which are easy to cook at home. My favorite frozen food item at this Kroger is Roots Organic Potato Tots made with avocado oil. It's unlike any frozen potato I've tried before. I am not a fan of the ready-made salad. There are other grocery stores with better salad options. I usually go to the self-checkout aisle, so I do not interact much with the workers, but I've never run into any issues so far. Harassment at self checkout. I have shopped at this store for nearly 20 years as it's very close to home. I used the self checkout today closest to the register. As soon as I entered my Kroger #, the cashier walked over & stood directly next to me. She watched each item I scanned & placed in a bag and kept staring directly at my face. I looked directly at her and said, "Hi". She responded quietly but continued to stare at me in an opposing way. It was unnecessarily uncomfortable & awkward enough that I will only use an actual checkout lane moving forward. I understand the need for theft prevention and there are cameras Everywhere in this store. Allowing an employee to try intimidation by staring at a customer for the 7 minutes it took to check out is weird and unacceptable. Train your staff to also be kind and respectful please. read more

Flies everywhere, most fruit as well as the onions are unbuyable. The last time I bought nectarines and raspberries, the raspberries disintegrated into mush when I tried to wash them and I had to throw away six of the sevennectarine that were in the pre-sealed bag. Like the same thing I got home with them. They are out of many things most of the time and rapidly diminishing the variety of products that they do carry. Weirdos often loitering in running cars in the parking lot. This location is very convenient to where I live but I'm probably going to have to switch to Meijer 20 minutes away read more

I have stopped going to Kroger since the pandemic because of their corporate greed. Went into this store to get one thing because I didn't feel like driving further today to Meijer. Their egg section was down to trash eggs. One dozen of Vital Farms left and they were crushed. Looked down the isles. Prices are criminal at all Krogers but this place is disgraceful. read more

I like this Kroger because I'm used to it but they are always out of everything and they never get anything new like other locations do. Everyone says that they're focusing their their good efforts to the newer locations but I'm not interested in driving across town just for groceries read more

Still love this Kroger but I was majorly bummed after spending hundreds on a gift card. When I went to use it the sticker that covers the PIN number that allows you to use it - it peeled off the PIN number with it. I returned a couple hours after I purchased it with the receipts. This was after spending an hour on the phone with the company the gift card was for which resulted in me only receiving an email address to try to file a report. When I went back to Kroger for help they only told me gift cards were not refundable and that they didn't have my money - the company the gift card was for had my money. They suggested I call the company the gift card was for, which I already did. I went home and called the number on the Kroger receipt that says it's for information about gift cards. It was a recorded message that lasted forever, "while I'm waiting" trying to sell bs promotional offers and once I got to the end of about 15 "offers" it said that number was no longer in use and recited yet another number to call which wasn't valid. Finally i went to the Kroger website to bitch and called the customer service line - And a super sweetheart answered - I was forwarded to someone that could use the gift card and receipt info I had to bring up the PIN number. For real.... if it were your money you'd not be happy to be told "all gift card purchases are final". All anyone had to say is "call this number" or better yet - let me see if I can reach someone for you. Poop! read more

Cashiers are very rude and obnoxious and not the sharpest tools in the shed especially the little old lady with the dish water hair.Every time I go there they like to sell items that are a year out of date . Alway check the dates.... read more

I have about 4 Krogers within 2 miles of me. I usually skip ones that are closer to me to go to this one. They seem to have found the balance of busy enough to have a large selection, but not busy enough to always be out of products. The staff is always helpful and available. I appreciate the renovation. The produce section is great. I love having a Starbucks and it encourages me to get out and grocery shop in the mornings. They got new carts that are fun for the kids. I love that. I can now put two kids in the cart and they are up high instead of down low so they can't climb in and out. I just wish they had curbside but after inquiring about it I was told that they don't have enough fridge space. Understandable because there isn't a lot of open land here. Unfortunately, that also means the parking lot will continue to be cramped. I would still choose to go to this one than the largest one several miles away. read more

Waited at the Deli for 20 minutes to have no one to wait on me. I finished my shopping and went back to the deli 30 minutes later. I waited another 15 minutes for someone to wait on me at the deli. It never happened. I went somewhere else. This store has gone down hill big time. I am done with Kroger, I will never shop there again. read more

This place is kind of like a funeral home- beautiful and well decorated but depressing. This place was clearly either built or remodeled to handle a huge amount of traffic- but that must have been before everyone lost their jobs. I walk into this beautiful grocery store, and not more than 10 people are ever there. They have a good assortment of food and things are always on sale. What a great find. And they have new release movies for 1 dollar... And they have a really nice deli person... And I am lame for reviewing this place read more

The short, creepy looking guy with the bad fake tan who was working at the self-checkout was really rude and honestly insulting to me and my confidant. Apparently you cannot pay in cash at one of the self-checkout locations, and when we asked him what to do since all we had was cash to pay for our already scanned items (Ben and Jerry's ice cream btw it still slapped), he said "does nobody read anymore" as if there was a sign, which there was not! When I looked over to see him typing on his register, he was shaking his head as if this was somehow the biggest inconvenience to him. The next second he was being extremely nice as we left, and we do not appreciate being patronized by grocery store workers. We just wanted to eat our ice cream and have a good time but now I'm sitting here writing this review so :))!! read more

This is "my" Kroger. Fast, friendly & close to home. Now it's remodeled to look like every other Kroger store. That's ok. Doubt I'll ever visit the Starbucks they put in there but then I just don't care for Starbucks. The people make the place and the staff here are top notch! Very friendly & helpful. I seriously visit this store probably 1-2x per day. There's a big tall man manager and short little woman manager and they are both very friendly and helpful. Also the seafood lady loves her job and it shows lol. Store is always clean and stocked well. read more

My experience pretty much echos the other reviews. This is also my favorite Kroger by far. While the layout of the parking is "different" (due to the footprint of the property), I never have a problem getting a spot close to the entrance. This location is never busy/crowded (unlike the smaller nearby store on Vernier/Mack), I never have an issue finding fresh meat/produce and they always have all of the items I'm looking for in stock. I would recommend this Kroger to everyone. read more

Nice looking place, large (just expanded) but the staff is fairly anti-social and uncaring. Every time I go there I seem to have to move out of the way from some large cart being rolled through the store by some staff member, or having to skip an aisle because they are restocking a section and the aisle is blocked. And, what's with the disappearing food? No more Stahl's bread? Different brands of butter/margarine no longer stocked? Still, it is better than the other Kroger stores in the area. And, Joyce the cashier/stocker is awfully cute. read more
