The pharmacist, I think his name is Mike, is wonderful! Some of the other employees in the pharmacy don't seem happy to be working.

This Kroger is by far the best Kroger in the Bloomington-Normal area. It is much more updated, friendlier, and cleaner than the other 2 in town. The produce also seems much more fresh. The only nicer store in the area is Hyvee, but their prices are much higher. This Kroger also consistently has their registers full of cashiers so they can service their customers unlike other stores in town--(cough, cough Walmart). My only complaint would be the lack of stock that they have for their "Buy 5, Save 5" deals. Every time I attempt to purchase an item included in this deal, they are completely out of stock. read more

This is the best Kroger in Blo/No. Unlike the other two stores, it has had a much needed remodel. The ones of Main St. and Oakland are cramped. The College location is easy to navigate even when it's busy. The store has two entrances which is a convenience the other two locations do not have. The prices are usually good. If you go in at the right time you will find food like meat or bread on manger's special. The Kroger brand food is actually good. Most of the employees are friendly. I've had a few make conversations while scanning my orders. It was refreshing. Most of the time I use the self-check out though. The parking lot is a nightmare. It should have been redone when they remodeled. I heard they might move down the street, if true, I doubt the parking lot will get repaved. The parking lot is small for the amount of business they get. You have to watch out for careless drivers when driving in the parking lot. read more

Was at the Kroger on College at the deli dept. There was no sign saying it was closed. Asked if there was anyone to help me. An older lady walks out and said " it is almost time for me to clock out..you will have to wait til the next shift comes in I'm not going to help you. ". It was 4:45 and she said she was off at 5 to go look and see if what I wanted was in one of the cases. I had already looked and it wasn't. That being said she walked out. All I wanted was 1 lb of Tapioca pudding. I understand that you are shorthanded and I'm sorry and was I could help out. But I'm 74 years old and to be treated like that is totally unacceptable. read more

Musicians were in the parking lot not even near the door playing. They were under the only shade in the parking lot. Had a sign asking for donations. Not bothering anyone or putting any pressure on customers. Manager of Kroger came and made them move. read more

First, always out of stock on many items. I go to other stores and they have it so this isn't a supply and demand issue, it's whoever is placing orders doesn't know what they're doing. Second, I was at Kroger sat am (12/24/22) mid morning. I went to self check out, had wine so automatically "help" thing goes off. I stood there for 10 minutes, waiting. Girl at the desk by self checkout was just standing there. I tried to get her attention, she ignored me and walked away. Finally another employee walked by and noticed I needed assistance and she went and got the girl to help me. Finally. Here's where it gets even worse. I needed cigarettes. I walked over to show her. She came back, scanned them and walked away with them. I was like, hey, um you have my smokes. She ignored me and took the cigarettes and put them in her drawer. I had to walk over there and ask for them. No clue what's going on with this store but it definitely seemed like this girl was on something. I know help is hard to find but this was ridiculous. read more

They told me they have Apple Pay, I spent an hour shopping and go to check out and apparently they don't have Apple Pay. Horrible customer service. Never patronizing them again. read more

The College Ave store is my preferred Kroger as it is cleaner and less ghetto than the Main St store, despite being closer. They often have very good sale prices. I am still miffed over our experience at the deli 2 days ago. The smell of the fried chicken was too just too much temptation and we had to get it. We order the family dinner which should include 2 breasts, 2 thighs, 2 wings, and 2 legs as any standard 8 piece meal would. It also is to include two large sides(16oz), and 4 biscuits. The kid servings us had given us 1 breast, 2 thighs, 4 wings, and 1 leg. He also grabbed the smallest container they have for our "family" sides. I told him that it was not a 16oz container, and he argued with me that they were out of the others and that's what he had, though I could clearly see a stack of 32 oz containers. He scooped mashed potatoes into this small 4oz container and then threw it on a scale and said it was almost 1 lb. I told him that's great, but it's not by weight, it's by volume. Again he argued that it was the only container he had, I went to a near by bunker and grabbed several containers to demonstrate what a 6oz container(couldn't find a 4oz) and a 16oz container look like, yet he still argued. I told him to grab the 32 oz containers and fill them up half way and I'd be satisfied. Instead he grabbed another 4oz container and filled it halfway up with our "chosen"(lack of any other options) mashed potatoes and Mac n cheese. He also had only given us one 4oz container of gravy which was barely half way full of gravy. Then rather than give us 4 biscuits, he gave us 3 dinner rolls. It's amazing how people with the simplest jobs can mess up so much. Apparently the customer isn't always right and it's ok to argue with your customers. read more

I'll probably change my rating when their renovation is complete. It's much-needed and long overdue. The big plus for this Kroger is that their deli carries Boars Head brand. I'm also happy they've fixed their produce section to add refridgerated islands. Its kept the produce from spoiling and gave them more room to stock more. All good things. The staff at this location is very very nice. Here's a big negative: chicken breasts and Kroger's lack of them. It seems no matter when I go there, I either have to buy a 4 lb package or stop at another store. Boneless, skinless chicken breasts are a staple grocery item like milk, eggs and coffee. They should never run out and when they are stocked, they shouldn't be frozen. Maybe the renovation gets them more space to stock more. Really hoping the renovation also means an expansion of their spirits section. The wine especially. Plenty of affordable options, but nothing unique. It's just kind of blah. There's hope for this store to go from good to great. It still beats the big box chaos of wal mart or meijer, but if i'm paying more for my groceries, I want all the quality and convenience my dollar can afford. They're getting closer, but not there yet. read more

My favorite grocery store of all time! I love the prices!!! The store is clean and everyone that works there is exceptional! I have to say that Scott that normally works self checkout is who I mainly deal with and he goes above and beyond to ensure sale items ring up correctly or any issues you may encounter. He is so kind and welcoming! Parking is great! It's the best place to shop in Bloomington!!!! read more

This Kroger is always clean, and they are constantly improving and adding new products. Plus the prices are good and they have a gas station! I am also Gluten Free and have found a number of good GF choices at this store. This is my go-to Kroger in town! read more

I don't like this Kroger. I will start off by saying that there are ALWAYS seedy characters hanging around the Kroger. Also, I went into this store around 11 pm once, and there was a man sleeping inside the store at a table and no one cared to wake him up or ask him to leave. Also the deli is always extremely slow and the employees act like they don't want to be there at ALL. they used to have a Starbucks inside but that's long gone. I am not impressed with this store at all. read more

Kroger on college barely earns one star. Overall they are the worse at having items stocked and getting in and out. Customer Service has a very nice young lady, petite w glasses, I believe her name is Melissa. Very helpful and courteous otherwise most in customer service suck. Lisa in floral is nice and helpful. I'm confused as to why there turnover of employees is so high. Management pretend they're so concerned about providing great service...ha, ha, they are so funny because not much changes. I have a crazy thought...train your employees before leaving them alone on a lane, treat your employees better, as a manager help out up front whether it's bagging or going to retrieve carts, hey even help out in customer service when the line is so long it almost reaches pharmacy. I shudder every time I go there. I only go there because they have decent prices when using the app and are maybe ten minutes faster than Walmart!!! read more

I have to try to remember not to go there. Its usually not quick, something is out of stock, and if I don't see one of the rock star cashiers....its not gonna be good. In the winter, shopping at night is the worst. They have to lock one of the doors for some reason, but you will never know which one. When it is icy and cold, it stinks to not know where to park. Also they go to on self check-out after a certain time and it is too much of a pain to get your weeks grocery and use self-check out. Probably the second time after I did it and regretted going there, one of the staff members who was just standing around said "Oh you shoudl have asked me for help". I don't see how customers would know that without the employees working there offering to help. If someone is at the self check out with a grocery cart full of food, it really sucks to check yourself out. I am hopeful eventually they can afford to just keep one cashier available at all time. Overall the issues seems to revolve around customer service/employee training. My guess is there is a lot of turnover and not enough funding to properly staff the store. I have always liked other Krogers because I thought they had good customer service and allowed for better staffing, but I simply have to remember that is not the case at this one. I even submitted a complain to the company before, never heard back. I give up, rather go to Meijer or Aldi if I am over that way. read more
