    Car Wash! #Fancy
    Ashish P.

Kroger is a grocery store popular in this region. I grew up with Kroger in Indiana and when I went to school in Ohio. No matter what time of the day it is, rest assured, Kroger would come through in the clutch with groceries. It's like Peyton Manning hitting Marvin Harrison for a 80 yd. touchdown. Now onto the review after the 30 second intro, this Kroger located in Middletown, KY is at the perfect location. Shelbyville Road is a major street in town and nearly everything is off the road (grocery, shopping, dining, senior living, etc). This Kroger is unique in that it has an awesome gas station. There is a car wash, vacuum cleaner, mini convenient store by the gas station, it's clean and top notch. I usually stop at this Kroger when on this side of the town and I have not had an issue finding items. Be sure to use that Kroger plus card and get those points (every 100 = 10 cents off gas). Today, stopped to get gas and it was just smooth like silk. Did not get a car wash since it was a bone chilling 30 degrees outside, but once it warms up, definitely will stop back here to get the car wash. Recommend this Kroger!

Packing material stuck to the apples looks unsanitary

After shopping on a Tuesday from 5-6 pm, I had to wonder what in the world has happened over the past year to Midtown Kroger!? The produce section in particular has gone from great to poor. It seems they aren't able to keep the shelves stocked on a regular basis. When they are stocked, it looks like a rummage sale gone bad on Black Friday. For heaven's sake, please have some carts in the store for us to use. Kudos to the new glass doors for refrigerated items. I've been going to J town Kroger and found it is a more well run store lately.

Little-known fact: Kroger has excellent ribs during holidays!

Although the prices are a bit spendy, the quality is far superior to national chain stores. Indoors is a cornucopia of fresh fruits, vegetables, meats and prepared cuisines (both hot and cold dinner/lunches). They match and are comparable in price to the larger chain grocery stores and far more fresh and appealing. My wife and I opted for prepared salads I chose the Asian one and it was great. The dressing in particular was to die for.The store is exceptionally clean but rather small and difficult to navigate in such tight quarters. Rumor has it they plan to expand the facility. Parking can also be a beast so it is best to find a spot in the adjacent strip mall near the UPS store. It is so worth it though.

There are 4 Paul's Markets in Louisville, and I am fortunate to live very close to the Middletown location, which opened in 1996. Every summer the outdoor area is chock full of beautiful flowering plants, both annual and perennial varieties. The plants today were lush, healthy, and absolutely stunning. They were priced in line with the local nursery that we most frequent, which is a bit higher than the big box stores. However, as with most things, you get what you pay for. The grocery has a wonderful deli that includes a hot bar and a wide variety of prepared sandwiches, pastas dishes, salads, and deserts. The salad selection was extensive. I opted for a cobb salad that included chicken, bacon, egg, tomatoes, lettuce, blue cheese crumbles and dressing! It was a steal for only $6.99 and absolutely delicious. I chose the honey mustard dressing and it was a chef's kiss! Throughout the grocery area one will find a lot of specialty items such as several types of gluten-free breads, seasonal fruits, regional candies, and much, much more. Paul's is a great place to grab a lunch that is far healthier than the plethora of fast-food options for just a couple more dollars!

The aisles were organized, easy to navigate visually, and everything felt freshly stocked. The seasonal section was a highlight -- most of the items were grouped together, which made browsing simple. That said, not everything seasonal was in one place. Some seasonal items, like refrigerated goods and flowers, were spread throughout the store, so it took a little extra effort to find everything. Checkout was quick and efficient, and I loved that they accept Apple Pay -- always a plus for convenience. One thing to know before you go: you do need to bring your own bags. If you forget, they do have options -- paper bags for about $0.12 and reusable bags for under $1 -- which is actually pretty affordable, but still something to keep in mind. From an accessibility standpoint, there's definitely room for improvement. During my visit, there was only one motorized scooter available, which can be limiting for customers who rely on them. If it's already in use, there aren't many alternatives, and combined with some of the item placement throughout the store, it made navigating a bit more difficult than it should be.

I had a specific item I needed today that my friend says she gets at Aldi and after walking around every aisle I found the pasta section, but it was lackluster as is the entire store. They had no gluten-free noodles in their pasta selection so I figured it had to be in another part of the store m, like a gluten free area, so I asked a uniformed employee who looked like they were putting together a pick up order or something where I could find gluten-free noodles and she hastily pointed to an area in a general direction, I asked "in the same section as the regular noodles?" And she said "yeah if we have any." So I went back and looked again at the pasta section and there were no gluten-free options and certainly not any gluten-free lasagna noodles, which is what the search was for today. It'll likely be my last trip to an Aldi.
