Now we all know all Kroger's aren't created equal. This location has had its ups and downs. They are doing some things better and I'm encouraged that it will continue. I'll start with the highs, they now have a lady in the meat department and she always has that department together!! I stop by just to see what's on sale and it's neat clean and the meat looks good. She needs a raise! They have a Little Clinic and they also do a great job. The Pharmacy is sometimes busy but you can call in your prescription and pick it up , I'm always greeted warmly. The wine selection is pretty extensive if you need to pick up a quick bottle without stopping at a liquor store. Now the not so good, I'm very picky about my produce so I inspect it good before I purchase. There is a man that wears a baseball cap that works there and he is very good at trying to make sure it's well stocked, you can tell he cares about doing a good job but I think the produce comes in beat up or something. If you're looking for salad greens or any other delicate greens go somewhere else. I do like that most times I check out to leave there is security at the front door. This is Memphis and I want all of the security I can get!! It gets dark early so I have no problem asking security to walk me to my car. read more

Fully stock shelves, always horrible customer service, horrible checkout register too many young people under the age of 20 working there management always in office. Plants in front of the store are dying, overgrown ferns that need attention water. this is my second review on this Kroger. I refuse to absolutely go into the store ever again because of the service there's never anyone at the management customer services and again all of the checkout services are older people and the registers are all younger people and they're very rude and very disrespectful. They're always on their phone and they're always laughing. Management needs to do more than just clean up the store and stock their shelves. They need to rehire new staff. read more

This place used to be great. Terrible management lately. Always out of carts, CARTS! What the hell is that? My wife has been twice in two days and there have been no carts therefore she can only grab a few items she's able to hold. From a business point of view, if I was a manager, this would not happen, if people don't have carts they aren't going to spend a cart full of foods worth money, YOU'RE LOSING MONEY!! Man, they are just so rude. They'll see you holding something have you wait in line then go on break or tell you they can't ring you up. So you have to get out of line and go to another line to wait. A little heads up would be appreciative. read more

I'm trying to understand the logic of having multiple customers in line at self checkout only to have an employee stand there as individuals load, scan, bag, then load their groceries into the cart....only to have the customer have to yet again load their groceries into their car. Instead of having someone babysit the self check out, can't we have someone actually check out groceries? For people who have back issues or mobility issues I find this particularly upsetting. I had an employee tell me today at self check out that I could use the self check out that had a moving belt, but I have had glass containers break on that before as they roll down. The employee's response was I could just walk down each grocery item after I scan them and bag them as I go. That's just a little too much cardio for me, plus I have the gym for that. I'm just trying to get some groceries here...This is a flawed system. Bottom line: if it is 6 AM and you have about five to seven customers with full carts ready to check out, just get behind the counter and check them out. Don't babysit the self check out. It looks rude and portrays the individual in question as lazy. It's not like they were slammed, and if customers have a cart full of groceries in particular, they deserve to be checked out in the traditional way. Come on, Kroger. read more

The service is above average for Memphis area standards. I like their sushi area. The men who make the sushi are really friendly and offer suggestions for you if you look lost. I like the sushi at Krogers WAY better than Target and Trader Joe's. (Don't ever buy sushi from Target or Trader Joe's, who knows how long it's been sitting on that shelf, it comes prepackaged at a factory and shipped to the store and the rice is drenched in rice vinegar. It's terrible.) The sushi at Kroger is made fresh every day, through out the day. I also enjoy their International section as the previous poster said, it has an interesting variety of foods. Their pastry case is full of beautiful tarts, cheesecakes and other adorable miniature "goodies". I bought a Strawberry cheese cake and a Baklava from the case once. Phew! If you read my review of Kroger Dexter, you'll know I'm not a fan of it. This one is way better out of the two in the area. Just trust me. Let's see...there are employees freaking everywhere. I come shopping here at random hours and I can always find someone without much difficulty, should I need help finding something. Although since it's been a long time since the layout was changed, I'm pretty familiar with where everything is. I'm just saying, if you need help, you can find it. They have a lot of little goodies. I mean yeah they have stuff like an olive bar which Dexter has added too, but they've also got stuff like an Icee machine...how wonderfully random. And a cheese station. So much cheese. I never seem to go when someone's actually there, but I've been told you can ask for samples? So that's something to keep in mind if you've lived a life of American and Cheddar and want to see if you like something else. Even if you know what you like, here's the great thing. The cheese is wrapped in various sizes from teensy tiny to moderately sized. Usually if you're at the store, you're stuck with maybe a pound of cheese. Uhh...I just wanted a little bit to snack on. So that's groovy. The bakery is very diverse. They even sell individual cupcakes. Everyone does now, but it's the only Kroger I've been to that does. They've got little tarts and stuff too. They've got a decently sized organic section too, including frozen stuff. It's all in its own little section, so if you want to shop solely organic you don't have to go throughout the entire store to get your milk, frozen dinner, etc. Lots of different bottles of water too, which sounds....weird, I know. But usually it's like Dasani (eww), Aquafina (no), store brand, Fiji, one or two brands I can't remember, and that's all. They even have their own brand of artesian water. So it's like getting Fiji water on the cheap. All of the other stuff is kind of pointless to mention, like wow they stock Hamburger Helper! Duh. But they have a huge international food section. I can finally get my curry sauces which makes me happy. There's stuff from...everywhere. England, Mexico (yep, even soda), you name it. They even stock candy so I can get the occasional bag of Maltesers (way better than Whoppers, guys). Oh, and the aforementioned bakery, olive bar, etc.? They sell sushi and stuff like that too. And guess what? There's even a decent sized area to sit down and chill and eat your food. I mean it doesn't have the ambiance of a restaurant, you're clearly in a grocery store, but if you don't wanna schlep your stuff home, it's an option. Some people I know claim the fried chicken at Kroger is legendary. I've tried it and it's not the best in town (ahem, Gus's), but it's not terrible. So there's another option for take-home food. Basically, if you live in Cordova, in my opinion, you have two choices for grocery shopping: here, or Target. They're both great choices, it's just up to you as to where you go. read more

This Kroger has become our favorite grocery store - mainly due to the customer service whether it is help at the Customer Service counter to any department in the store. They have a great variety of international foods and a big, beautiful produce department where everything is fresh and appealing. In addition, they have a great pharmacy staff who are always ready to help you. They are happy to comparison check on prescription prices which is a great help and they carry many with the lowest prices around. This is especially helpful if you do not have insurance! All employees on the floor are happy to help you find what you need and they don't just tell you, they take you to it! Thanks to the Co-Manager, Josh, he has helped us numerous times and will make sure that the item will be in stock by the next time you shop. read more

Better than some Krogers but not all. Certainly better than their sister brand in PHX called Frys. The produce selection requires a close inspection anymore before hitting my cart. Management doesn't seem to do a great job with training anymore either. Most checkers cannot recognize some of the produce, so I have learned to memorize some of the codes for them. And what ever happened to the art of bagging? Do not ever, ever put chemicals in with my foodstuffs. No canned goods with my bread. Lay my bread flat in the bag because when you stand it on end and it gets to my house, it looks like it has been wearing a girdle. Have asked them why they don't stock a certain brand of a particular item I'm looking for anymore and the manager says we will look into it and sometimes say they will order it. Hasn't happened in 4.5 years. But they do have the best 2% milk. Keep those Kroeger cows happy, please. read more

#@!?? Kroger Gasoline Recently a tank of Kroger Fuel killed my car. Towed to the dealership, it was diagnosed as having bad fuel. I filed a claim with Tim Roberts and Angela Wilson, store manager at Cordova, Tn. They sat on it for a full month. My persistence finally moved it to Sedgewick, Inc. (adjusters), where my claim was denied. Fuel tank and lines flushed, new filter and fuel pump were required. I have proof of purchases dating back months, and even a sample of the bad fuel from my tank. The dealership will attest to the bad fuel. My evidence was never considered. I truly feel that the management at his Kroger could not care any less about the customers. I have on several occasions spoken directly to various managers and they have done absolutely nothing to improve and have not taken my criticism seriously. A few weeks ago I spoke with a very young man who was one of the Assistant Managers of the store and I spoke with him in reference the cleanliness and the produce. As we spoke he explained that they have a new store manager and that he is taking bringing up the standards very seriously. The entire store was working feverishly on cleaning and setting up. This was on a Wednesday and I came to find out that the regional manager or someone even higher was someone for a visit and that is why they were cleaning up so much. I have spoken to no less than 4 different managers on several occasions and I kept getting the same response, "We will look into that, thank you." Yeah, right. They have removed items from their inventory and replaced it with items that are of a far less quality even though I have asked them to keep those items in stock repeatedly, to no avail. I went in a couple days ago as I had decided I was going to make Mexican food for dinner and needed some items quickly. As Kroger is the only Grocery store in the area, I went there. As I looked through the cilantro there was not a single bunch that did not have a lot of black rotted goo all over it. Yes, I checked the ENTIRE pile. I also checked the peppers and there were none that were not wrinkly and old. Furthermore, as I was leaving the produce department I noticed that the stock cart was on the far isle and decided to look at it. I noticed there was a stack of cilantro there, all of it in the same condition as the stuff on display. This store is perpetually filthy, all the trash is constantly over flowing, and the floors are disgusting. I used to praise the employees because of how polite and nice they all were, but even that seems to have changed and in most cases you are lucky if you can get a returned "Good Morning." There is only one reason I will come back to this store and that is to get milk. Other than that, I will be driving to the farmers market, Sprouts, or whatever other location I can find besides a Kroger. Even the full points are not worth coming into this store. I highly doubt anyone from Krogers will even acknowledge there is a problem in their filty store. read more

Constantly squeezing out brand products I love to get their house brand products on the shelf. I wish they didn't have a monopoly.

Since they remodeled, the aisles are too small and they removed the divder half way down the aisle so you can cut over to other aisles. Biggest complaint is the lack of customer service in the deli department. They are not fast or friendly. It would be nice to have someone say "how can I help you". Instead of looking at you waiting for you just to blurt out your order. read more

Oh gosh - I bought the "Roger Wood" smoked turkey wings from the meat section - price was great. There are other parts as well. The 2-bone wing part was good, but the drummy was so salty I couldn't eat it - it had been injected with brine to keep the weight up, I guess. Totally awful - avoid. Bad news! read more

I'm new to the area and have been shopping at this store for 4 months. I guess my biggest issue with this location is that it never looks that clean and it never smells good. My second issue is that it's very difficult to buy a decent onion. I always find them a little soft with gnats flying around...maybe I just pick the wrong time to shop. The floral department is not great. The one thing that I do like is their organic milk and organic section. There regular prices are high, but they have some good sales. There is one cashier that I always try to get her lane, just because she's so sweet and kind. She's quick, but great at small talk. She always tells me that Kroger really appreciates my business. Also, although I've never had to use it, they have coolers set up inside the doors as hydration stations with free water. That's pretty cool, especially considering the humidity! read more

I live in South Florida and my local grocery store (Publix and also Walmart) had great smoked meats and for about a year now they have switched over to Roger Wood.Last year I bought the smoked turkey wings and made a pot of Collards. I had to throw the whole thing out as it was so salty and it tasted horrible. Today I decided to try it again and bought Roger Wood smoked turkey necks in Walmart. I rinsed them in warm water for a long time and made a pot of white bean soup. It ruined the taste of my soup. It was not only too salty, the turkey had a wild funky off taste to it and I am very disappointed. Not sure where else I can buy smoked meats. I'll just stick to Oscar Myer bacon and ham for my soups and greens from now on. Roger Wood smoked turkey is absolutely HORRIBLE!!!! and I will never buy it ever again. read more

Any time I have interacted with the folks here I always feel at home. Everyone is so nice and helpful. I always find what I need at great prices. I love the kroger brands too. I don't believe I've ever had a negative experience. I always get anxious and annoyed when I go to Wal-Mart at peak hours, but you go here and it doesn't feel like that. Every now and then you might have to wait in line but it's rare and if you do it's not for very long because they move fast! The only issue I think I've noticed is that the Kroger on 64 may be bigger and have a few more selections than this one, but mostly the same. read more

Kroger 676 Germantown Rd, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING!!!! I went to this store tonight and they are rearranged the isles for a 4th or 5th time this year. I don't know, I've lost count. Just when I learn where items are located you change it again. BUT NOW?????, the this store looks like a warehouse. The isles are too long with no way out. I realize you are in the process of changing but I went up and down the isles looking for items that I never found because they isles are not labled correctly. I've lived in the area for over 15 years and have loved this Kroger but this new layout is AWFUL!! It is frustrating to have to go halfway down the isle to get what to need only to jog all the way back to the end to get to the next isle. AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY DO YOU KEEP REARRANGING THIS STORE. IS MANAGEMENT CONFUSED OR IS THIS SOME SICK STRATEGY TO MAKE PEOPLE PASS THINGS THAT YOU WANT THEM TO BUY! OUR CAR WAS HIT IN THEIR PARKING LOT AND THEY FAILED TO HELP CHECK THEIR SECURITY CAMERAS!!!We've been shopping here for years and have spent THOUSANDS of dollars since it is close to our home. We noticed our back bumper was dented and scratched. All we wanted was to see of they could check the security cameras so we can maybe catch the car model/ license plate since the dumb s*** obviously fled the scene while we were shopping in there. So they went in to "supposably" check their cameras. Told my husband "oh well the camera where your car was parked was at an angle where the car would be in a blind spot." Husband said they walked in and out in less than three min. I'm sorry but it sounds fishy that it only takes that long to check past footage or cameras. For all I know their cameras might not even WORK or even be ON. or they're lazy a** just don't want to do anything to help. So now we have to pay $500 deductible on an accident that some crook did and got away with. So yeah...Kroger... So does thos mean that any cars next to that "camera" can get away with hitting any car they want? So any women can get beat or raped at night in that same spot and not be safely captured on camera for evidence than?? THEY lost a customer for sure!! read more
