I give zero stars for the Kroger pharmacy in Riverside. You would think that with a brand new shiny Kroger that the customer service would reflect the new store. However, this is not the case. I pick up my Father's medicine from there. Every time I call in the prescriptions I get a time that they will be ready. I go to pick them up after the time knowing life happens. When I go to pick them up, they are not ready. In fact, the pharmacy has not even started to fill the prescription. So I wait. I don't want to "come back in a few hours." More recently, one of the prescriptions I called in apparently got "stuck" in the robot and they would fill it as soon as possible. I also had a prescription sent over fro Miami Valley South in the evening. When I arrived at the pharmacy window, I was told "We are closing soon". When I informed them of my prescription from the ER 15 minutes prior to my arrival, I was told that it wouldn't have been filled. that was that. Fast forward to today, I go to the pharmacy to pick up my medication. It wasn't relady and wouldn't be until after 2pm. I told the technician that I was concerned about the fact that it wasn't filled and asked what if the medication was an antibiotic or another equally important medication? I got a dumb stare and no answer. I asked to speak with the manager. The manager was not there and wou not be there until Monday. That response prompted me to write this review. As a note, while I was waiting to pick up my father's meds, the pharmacy did fill my prescription. I did thank them for that. read more

I'm from out of the state visiting relatives, and just witnessed the most atrocious behavior from an assistant store manager! I was in the next isle at checkout when an employee started screaming, and I mean screaming, at a customer for not using a divider. The gentleman was explaining the dividers were unavailable for him to reach. The employee, an asst manager named Janet (yes I looked at her badge) went off on an u adulterated tirade of how customers make her life a hell. If I weren't from out of town and in need of the potato salad I was purchasing I would've opened the container and launched it at her face! Shame on you Kroger for allowing that behavior, and I hope the gentleman who was a victim to Janet's hostility sues you!! In this day and age he'd probably get a good amount! shame on you! read more

Yes, this place is small. And yes it's parking lot doesn't look particularly pretty. The store itself is just fine! I went for several items yesterday and found everything I needed. I was even surprised to see some organic offerings I'd never noticed at any other locations. The layout confused me a little, but the gentleman who helped me was very friendly and led me right to where I needed to be. (The frozen fruits are in the "vegetarian" section of one of the frozen isles. The only bummer for me? No self check out. But going around 3p on a Wednesday I found a register with no line! read more

Five stars... we're in from out of town, needed a bag of coffee, popped in late at night, plenty of parking and friendly customer service. Good selections of coffee for a basic grocery store. We got some Seattles Best and it was less expensive than what we pay back home. On our way out the store a young man who works there called out "excuse me" and gave us $6 that apparently we dropped. But that seemed completely impossible for various reasons. We were tired and it was so late we took the bucks, but I'm thinking that tmmrw I might go back and see if anyone has come in to ask about the money. Idk, maybe we'll donate or give as a tip to the young man and/or cashier who flagged us down. The Kroger reminds me of what my Giant in Shaw was before the revamp of the neighborhood. Kroger - Sbc and bag, no charge for bag. - Grocery Near Me - Dayton, Ohio

I'm really not a fan of Kroger's. I only go there because of lack of a more convenient alternative and I don't have time to drive somewhere farther away that I actually enjoy patronizing. Kroger's doesn't know the meaning of customer service. Not even close. I love the way the checkout clerks bounce my produce around, too, after I have painstakingly selected it to make sure it wasn't all beat up, and the produce isn't that good there to begin with adding insult to injury. It's hard to find any variety of name brands there. Everything is some variation of one of their house brands. You might find one regular Kroger brand and one "select" (whatever that means), but they are still both Kroger's, and they are all higher priced compared to other stores. It's a big corporate operation that gives you a big corporate experience. If you like that kind of thing, by all means go there. If you're like me and don't, go elsewhere. read more

Called "Ghetto Kroger" by the students at the University of Dayton this particular location is certainly a bit interesting to say the least. Tucked in to the middle of a residential neighborhood this might be the smallest chain location that I have ever seen. Its open till midnight which is nice, but that might be were the good aspects depart. The food selection is mediocre at best but will do if all you need is to run quickly to get something you forgot for dinner. Expect to have fight for parking as this location seems to always be packed, and the interior is messy, and confusing. That being said I have seen improvements in the past, but recently prices have started to go up as they have every where and I will take my money to a place that I can do all my shopping at. A sign on the door says renovations in progress so this is perhaps a good thing. read more

I was staying with my daughter Katie, her husband Thatcher and my grandson Jude last weekend. It was Saturday and we had just had the ice and snow storm that started Friday afternoon. I went out on this very cold morning with my daughter and grandson to the nearest grocery store for some additional ingredients for dinner that night. This store looks just like the Kroger store in Cincinnati's OTR district. The main difference is that this store has a bigger parking lot and is a little bigger from front to back. The front door is to the left and upon entering you pass the customer service area and checkout lanes before encountering a small but decent size produce department with organic produce available. They have a good selection of prepackaged salads. We were very happy to find a Mediterranean mix that looked delicious and was discounted for quick sale. My grandson was able to get a free banana to eat while we shopped. The marked down to produce display is one of my favorite things to look at in any Kroger store. I found the last bag of apples that I gladly picked up to buy. Do not be turned away by the poor quality of the parking lot. And there is a salad bar. Katie needed more Kroger brand eggs which go fast in her house between my grandson and her husband. She was also able to find Oscar Mayer Naturally Hardwood Smoked bacon on sale for $3.99 in a display at the back of the store. This made the trip quite successful and we were back home fast so Jude could play and take his nap. The salad made the delicious chicken dinner that my daughter made the perfect dinner on a cold night. The next morning we enjoyed eggs and bacon! As the last reviewer pointed out this is indeed refrerred to as "Ghetto Kroger",but I prefer Kroghetto myself. Anyways,this store is small and old. You won't find anything expired or nasty,but you also won't find the variety you might find at a bigger store in the suburbs.As someone who lives in the city I shop here occasionally when I need something quick. A few things to consider about this store is that there are always lines LONG lines that take forever to get through b/c there one register open and the person checking out doesn't know how to use their food vouchers. This happens nearly everytime I'm in this store and usually results in people walking out. It is a good place to people watch though,and the clerks are friendsly and a little stressed as their usually fieldiing long lines full of people that are irritated b/c they were made to wait. I have shopped at this Kroger for 20 years, and am so happy to have it in my neighborhood. The small size makes it easy to get around, and still has 99% of what I need. It also has a comparatively large organic section, both produce and otherwise, and the staff is super friendly and helpful. So the parking lot slopes-ride your cart down. :-) read more

This place has it all. The most diseased looking cashiers i've ever seen.Horrible parking that makes it impossible for the charts to stay put since it is on a hill and a cementary in the back. Hey true story :a pregnant lady left her toddler in the cart while she was unlocking her door to put the child in its carseat. While Krogers continues to build their big Kroger Marketplace locations in the (mostly white) affluent suburbs they continue to neglect older locations in declining or no longer affluent neighborhoods. Many were unceremoniously closed, abandoned, or totally neglected. I remember when this was the new Krogers store in town. Widely embraced by the neighborhood building a loyal following over a number of years. Now, it should be an embarrassment to the company. While the store is today surrounded by blooming historically restored neighborhoods, a growing university campus (University of Dayton), and a developing residential presence in nearby downtown Dayton. How can Kroger ignore this customer base. Most drive to the suburbs to grocery shop at Meijer's, Dorothy Lane Markets, Freshtyme, Trader Joe's, and Whole Foods. (many shop at nicer Krogers far from home). Please, either clean up this store or build us a Marketplace Store.
