Their homemade bread, baked fresh on-site, is honestly some of the best bread I've ever had. The hummus from Kubba House is incredible, and the produce is always fresh, beautiful, and priced amazingly every single day. What really sets this store apart, though, is the atmosphere. When you become regulars, they're usually very good to take care of you in one manner or another. (Please note that I'm not speaking specific to Kappa only, but more in general.) As for my experience at Kappa, it was pleasant enough. Mark-ups weren't as bad as some of the other smaller places I've been to, and I loved the fact that they have house-made prepackaged food available. They also heavily advertise their banchans a lot, which is in line with most of these smaller joints. Koreans call it "son mat" which our trusty AI friend describes it like this: "Son-mat (손맛) is a Korean word that means "hand taste" and is used to describe the unique flavor that comes from a cook's skill, care, and personal touch. It can also refer to the idea of passing down the love and care that mothers put into their cooking to their loved ones." This is especially important because it's what will get your customers coming back for more. The trouble is that these smaller groceries are mainly targeted for locals nearby. I happen to live 90 minutes away, and if I have to do my quarterly Korean grocery shopping, I'm more inclined to go to a bigger chain mart, unless there's a very specific reason to pick one over the other. I would certainly recommend Kappa for people who are in the area, not looking to stock up for the next 3 months. As for me, one visit was very pleasant, but enough.

They sent me one mailer with four coupons, one available per week, and this week was free ice cream, so that definitely got me in the store. I got a half gallon of Hudsonville ice cream for free. Like any store, some of the things here are pricey and some are reasonably priced. We needed milk and the cheapest was $4.19 for a gallon, that's a dollar more than Meijer. I got three green peppers, rather large ones, for about two dollars and change each, which is also expensive. I only came to the store for the ice cream, milk, and peppers, but I also ended up buying two thin crust pizzas for four dollars each, since it was buy one get one free, and that was a pretty good deal, as well as some 8-ounce Kraft shredded cheese for $1.99 each, which is cheaper than Meijer - the caveat was that you had to buy five of them. When I went to stash my cart in the parking lot, I noticed they had a really cute cart for kids, so I might bring my one-year-old back with me next time. Busch's gets four stars from me because of the pricing being a little high and also the shopping cart return areas being further out.

The location was rather obscure as it wasn't right at the corner of a major intersection. As I was coming north on Meadowbrook Rd, I drove right past the driveway because I wasn't expecting it to be that far south of 10 Mile Rd. The structure had a drive through window, but it wasn't currently being used. The parking lot was huge with spaces in front of and to the west of the building. The main entrance brought you into the market, however if you kept walking towards the back, it will lead you to OneZo Cafe. We don't have this boba tea chain in my hometown as you have to drive north to OC for the nearest branch. What struck me about this cafe was how roomy the space was. The tables and sofas were placed well apart from each other. More furniture could easily have been added without crowding the area. It's the largest seating capacity I have encountered for such a business and is a great place to do work. My feedback will be strictly for the beverages I ordered from OneZo Cafe. I did not spend time perusing the shelves of merchandise at Hers Zakka Market. A self-service kiosk was to the right of the service counter. I chose two drinks from the Creative Mix section of the menu. The first was a Peach Oolong Tea with Popping Boba. The second was a Grape Green Tea Crush with Aloe Jelly. The cashier informed me that the popping boba variety was unavailable so I made a substitution with regular boba which I preferred anyway. The oolong tea flavor was noticeable and not overshadowed by the fruitiness of the peach. The pearls had a soft chewiness to them. Not many spots offer grape as a flavor for their fruit teas. Whenever I see grape on the menu, it's usually one of my picks. The liquid was purple in color and not too sweet. The aloe jelly was alright but not as good as the pearls. Meal sets, onigiri, karaage, and curry rice were just some of the savory food offerings on the menu. Desserts like egg waffles, cream puffs, and tiramisu were also available. The next time I am in town, I will have to make a return visit and sample some of these items. OneZo Cafe is not a highly visible business, yet I think it's underrated for what it delivers. I gave a 4.5 star rating for my initial experience.

I really do appreciate the great Customer Service, because this wonderful wine is now out of production, and I got the last six bottles in my area. I'd highly recommend this Kroger, because the store manager and staff go out of their way to help their customers. Now...to find another good Chardonnay....
