I hate putting people out of work with self checkout
    Jack G.

This Kroger is doing a great community service by hiring the disgruntled workers that other businesses won't (SOMEONE needs to employ them). Painfully slow checkout. I don't recommend shopping here after 4 PM as many items appear to be cleaned out by then. Great business model though; buy out your competition and close their stores down. It appears they appear to be saving labor costs by laying off some self-checkout kiosks... (either that or those kiosks are on break when I am there)

They also offer food options and that's what brought me in. Wanted a little bit of everything. So I ordered a Chicago style pizza, an 8" Italian sub and a small antipasto salad. Took about 15- 20 minutes to make, as it looked like it was closed when I inquired about their food. There was nothing being made, nothing hot or fresh offered in a warmer or at the counter. All made to order I suppose. The food is okay. It's not banging by any means. The antipasto is weak. You can count the olives and toppings they added to basic bed of lettuce. $8 for this and its true value is probably half that. Tomatoes were translucent and super thin. The sub is nothing more than a gas station pick up. Very light on the meat for an Italian. Like the onions though. $10 for that, true value is probably $6 or less. The Chicago style pizza smelled awesome and looks pretty good but they didn't add the sauce on top?? Not sure why. Ended up being more of a large arsed calzone. Still decent and cheesy but also seemed very salty. Very filling as well. Overall a dense pie that I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way for. Overall a fine stop for quick pick ups but I felt as if any top shelf gas station or convenience store matches what they offer and at a lesser price.

Theirs the vibe of "you get what you pay for" customer service. Parking is expansive and free. Expect to see fancy looking automobiles. No valet parking yet :-) The West Bloomfield location is my favorite, next to Bloomfield, Ann Arbor, downtown Detroit and Detroit Metropolitan Airport.

Been meaning to check this place out for a long time and finally got around to it on the tail end…read more of a Dairy Queen visit which is just a short walk away. I was quite impressed with both the quality and variety of meats and sausages they offer. As this was my first time here the manager brought out a sample tray of assorted sausages, which is standard practice at this business, where pretty much every sausage I tried was was very tasty, fresh and with a nice soft texture and not tough and chewy as so many thin sausages are. It was extremely obvious that these sausages are made with premium meats as they were just so darn tasty with great texture! Aside from the large assortment of sausages, there are premium cuts of beef, jerky, fish, Brisquet, pork and higher end Wisconsin cheese to choose from among the food that they sell. Additionally, they have a made to order Deli sandwich counter that includes assorted well known sandwiches you expect to see at a Deli to include some not so typical sandwiches that include Cuban, Pulled Pork and Brisquet sandwiches all at very reasonable prices. As I only ended up getting a couple varieties of their thin sausage I plan on returning near term to sample their sandwiches as well where the Brisquet and Cuban are at the top of my list to try. Additionally I want to buy their Brisquet beef patties as these are harder to find and they make a mean burger on the grill. Overall the uniqueness of this store and the quality of what they produce and sell makes a pretty compelling case for you to check this business if you are in the area especially if sausage is your jam.

Upstairs they have a dining area and more a more private dining area downstairs. My brother and sister-in-law had gone ahead to decorate the space. At the appointed time, my husband and I brought the parents to Cantoro's. His parents had always wanted to eat there, so we were really excited to bring them in for this special occasion. When we checked in, the host played along and brought us downstairs to the private dining area. The space is really great for private parties and guests can access private bathrooms instead of having to go upstairs to use the bathroom. Here are the dinner items the guests picked between: - short rib - salmon / chicken (I can't remember which one) Everyone was started off with a Cesar salad. The Cesar salad was yummy because it had the perfect ratio of dressing to salad ingredients. The short rib was very tender and the green beans that came with it were yummy also. The potatoes that came with either the chicken or salmon were soft, not hard. Guests also got a plate of freshly made alfredo pasta. When my husband and his brother met with one of the staff to take care of the bill, it was a hassle-free experience for them. Would definitely come back to Cantoro's if I am in Michigan again.
