But Yolanda was my cashier not only was she efficient She begged the groceries and was exactly what you want. This is my Kroger I shop at. For the most part they have everything I need and usually good in stock. Some of the staff is very nice. While some of them are just very rude for no reason. My favorite had to be Diane in the seafood area. Always looking happy and treating others well. Edmond (I think his name) who is a manager is very nice and helpful as well there. There are two other managers who I see all the time. One with glasses and the other always has on something fun. They are cool too. Also this there are two middle eastern ladies at self check out who I love and adore as well. The store is typically clean and as I stated better stocked than the one on 14 and the one on Orchard Lake. read more

Every time I go here I remember why I don't normally go here. Today the lines for the self checkout were to the back of the store and the lines at the regular checkouts were filled with annoyed people and moving at speeds rivaling that of a glacier. I ended up pushing my cart to the customer service desk and leaving it there. This is pretty much business as usual here. read more

When this location first opened over a decade ago it was great. We came here happily every week. They had great products, great prices, and events for kids and families. Now things are very different. First, most of the people who work here are friendly and personable, and have been working here since the beginning. I do not fault them for the decline, I blame the corporation and their decisions. They have taken away so many cheaper Kroger brand products that saved us money and only stock the brand names. While you might say I see so many Kroger labeled products, there are many essentials they took away. I used to come here to save money, now I have to come here for certain items but must shop elsewhere, the prices are so high, I cannot afford to come here. Even my favorite coffee creamer has gone up several dollars a bottle. They also used to host a food and beverage festival in the summer, which was great. They had tents with food samples, plus a beer and wine fest, it was great for families. Then they took away the food part, fine, but since then they have canceled it all together, and now no festival. While I continue to shop here, it is less and less plus I feel their merger may bring even higher prices, which will essentially eliminate my ability to afford to shop here for good. read more

This Kroger is doing a great community service by hiring the disgruntled workers that other businesses won't (SOMEONE needs to employ them). Painfully slow checkout. I don't recommend shopping here after 4 PM as many items appear to be cleaned out by then. Great business model though; buy out your competition and close their stores down. It appears they appear to be saving labor costs by laying off some self-checkout kiosks... (either that or those kiosks are on break when I am there) read more

I used to love this store and would drive out my way to come to this location , and above that to shop at Kroger over the other big stores. BUT Kroger's refusal to keep checkout lanes staffed is getting out of hand and I'm questioning if it's worth it. My food bill here is indicative that you can pay someone a decent wage to work. Maybe they can't keep employees for other reasons. I started writing this review 10 minutes into my wait to checkout. I'm still here with 6 ppl ahead of me, all with full carts waiting for the conveyor belt lines. Please do something. read more

4:00 pm on a Wednesday and the Deli counter was "Closed" because the person was "on break." There was no one in the entire store that could fill in for half an hour? There was no one at the service desk, either. POORLY run store and apparently the Manager was upstairs and told someone that there's nothing he can do. First, you have to be very careful about figuring out how the sales work. Some are buy 4 get $1 off and you can mix them with other items. Some are buy 4 of the same items to get the sale price. Some are buy 2, get 1 for half off, buy one get one for half off, etc. It's confusing and irritating. Second, some of the workers are just plain surly and rude. It's not my fault they hate their job. But, by all means, take it out on the customer for existing. Third, the Starbucks workers are especially rude. The first time, the little snot behind the counter aked me something but he said it really fast and I didn't understand what he said. I had to ask him two more times. I asked for a chai tea. He made a chai latte, which cost $2 more. The next time, they again, made a chai latte when I clearly asked for "hot chai tea". That too was more expensive, not to mention the calories I do not want. I asked her to do it over and she was nice about it but her co-worker was clearly pissed off at someone and also, cannot do sub traction. She said it was $.80 cents difference but it is $1.80. I had to go to the service desk to get my $1.80. They acted like I should not care if I paid $1.80 but it's the principal of the thing. Some workers are great. Some are more concerned about their next break than doing their work. I hate this store. But it's close and I need the gas discount. read more

I see some of the reviews are about the self checkout but I am not from the area we stopped in to get Starbucks which was a disappointment but we also picked up a few groceries and the place was and felt dirty. Went to the bathroom 8:30am and it was the most disgusting thing I have ever seen. Some stores just need to close. read more

I can't get over how unfriendly the staff is. At the deli counter I waited patiently while the staff member finished up things, looking at me many times but not saying a word. Finally I asked if I was in the right place for a pick up and they told me to give them a minute. When they were ready their only words to me were "name". Trying to find someone for balloons was impossible. Finally found a staff member who told me they didn't know and to ask the service desk. Asked service desk and they were annoyed with me and said "let me try to find someone from produce". Once someone was found they approached me asking what I needed, I said "balloons" and they responded "want to elaborate?". I can't get over how rude everyone was. read more

Sad to say that this store has been, and continues to go downhill. They used to have friendly, helpful employees, but now you're lucky if there is even one checkout lane open. Shelves don't get restocked. Fewer selections of many items. And nobody there to help you. You can't blame covid; other Krogers in the area aren't getting bad like this one. I'll be driving an extra 5 minutes away to go to a different location from now on. This one has become really bad. read more

Covid or not, this has to be one of the most poorly managed businesses around. Prior to covid, This store had a hard time keeping their shelves stocked. Post pandemic, forget about it. Kroger forced other local stores in the area out of business and opened this 'super' store, making it the only game in town. Now everyone in the area has to shop there, and they haven't been able to support the volume since. Post covid, it has been obviously worse. Now they've virtually closed their bottle return. I went a few weeks ago after work, loaded my trunk with cans and bottles, filled the cart, and began rolling to the bottle return entrance. A young man came running out of the bottle return to tell me it had closed. I asked what time it closes, he said 8 pm. I looked at my watch, straight up 8:00. I stood at the entrance with a full cart and he turned me away for being 1 second late. Okay, so this evening I returned early, at 7:30, filled my cart full of cans once again and begin to roll toward the entrance. This time there was a large sign saying the bottle return was closed due to 'capacity issues'. I looked through the window, the place was empty. What kind of capacity? They have the capacity to sell you the full cans and bottles, but won't take them back. I could go on and on, but you get the picture. What a crap hole. read more

I've been coming to this store for over a year now and I am consistently disappointed. This store runs on self checkout only. so if you have a full basket of groceries there's not enough room and the machine will have to keep calling the manager over, but they will be helping other Coustomers, so you'll have to wait. I guess this is fine if your just getting a couple things but after my last experience I will be shopping at the Busch's on 14 mile. it's a bit further from me but well worth the drive. read more

I am amazed that when I purchase canned Soda or bottled lemonade, I am always charged the bottle fee, but if I try to return the 2L bottles they are rejected most of the cans and bottles are labeled Please Recycle and are not eligible for money back Kroger needs to update their computer system and stop stealing my money for an obsolete Michigan recycling charge read more

Not too much to complain about. You just got to remember that this isn't Whole Foods and you'll be alright. Lol Kroger is a national grocery store chain. One of three in the Commerce Township area. Positives: - Large Parking Lot. No issues parking. - Gas Station. Not as cheap as Costco but competitive for the area - Alcohol section- Good selection of Nationwide and Local Michigan craft beer. Ended up getting that Rochester Mills Milkshake Stout Holiday 12 Pack and a 4 pk of Cheboygan Brewing Blood Orange Hone Pale wheat ale. - Sushi was pretty good. Free samples too. Made fresh in house. - The seafood section- I like their effort on Ahi Poke. Got a pound of the sriracha seasoned Ahi Poke. Good for here I guess. - customer service: I'm kind of new to the area. The workers have helped/pointed me the right way looking for stuff. - Ice Cream: huge selection of Ice Cream! Who could pass up on Mackinac Island Fudge, Superman or even Mochi ice cream. - Healthy Food section: large section of organic, healthy, GF, vegan, non-101 products. Need improvement: - the self-checkout area- person can use some help with 12 checkout stations. Can take a while for them to bypass the 21 or older screen when purchasing alcohol or when screens get locked up. read more

I ordered a cake at the bakery a week prior to when i needed the cake, the lady taking the order wrote down all my information and informed me to come @4 when i needed the cake. i went to go pick it up and they FORGOT to make my cake. keep in mind this batman cake was for my 4 year old brother. do you know how upset he was?! i totally do not recommend. to top it off i got not a single sorry or anything! nothing! i asked them to write happy birthday on a cake at the least! they were so beyond rude! i will NOT order anything from this Kroger again! worst employees! worst customer service! i am furious. if i could give this place zero stars i would. read more

Worst run Grocery store in Michigan. Very Unsanitary, always over crowded and under stocked. Today (which is normal) there was trash everywhere.. used hand wipes littering the floor looking like a public restroom that hasn't been cleaned in 2 months. Food smashed in the return carts. At least a half dozen carts of food littered through the entire store.. just sitting there with perishables rotting. It looks like something out of a horror movie. Gross beyond words. And this is NORMAL for this particular store. No other Krogers or Meijer's in the area have this problem. read more

If I could give NO STARS I WOULD. They also have a location as bad if not worse @ Pontiac trail and beck road. I am so tired of basically a monopoly of lousy grocery stores, Commerce had Hillers, but they took Kroger's money and ran, 1st off the produce is crap, it is not truly fresh, my uncle owns and runs an apple orchard in Washington state, Apple taste better when not refrigerated and should keep for several days without being refrigerated, I had bought some and had them on my counter and went bad in just a couple days. Look out for sales usually have those because the sell by date is nearing, I used to work at a grocer several years ago and Kroger is the biggest offender, seen "new" tortillas on the shelf that were just a bag of Mold. My advice is that if you are out and about and see a GOOD grocery store it like a Joes or Wesrtborn do yourself a favor and buy your fruits and vegetables there, I do..!! Unfortunately Joes and Westborn Have high prices on other items or I would buy everything there. Now I buy my meats from a butcher and produce from a farmers market or Like a Westborn if there is one near were I may be driving. If at all possible I would find some place else to shop read more

SCAM ALERT- there is no $50 to transfer a prescription! Three calls, 1.5 hours on the phone, three stores, two pharmacies, a 'customer service' desk closed middle of the day? My Rx is NOT NEW, it's a transfer. What a scam. Don't shop here. Poor inventory rude associates messy store difficult to move around as crates and boxes every where. Trying to walk down an aisle with my elderly father shelf unit being moved by associate not looking where she is going huffed with disgust as we tried to walk past her. FYI we were walking by prior to her relocation of the shelf..just a horrible experience will never return to this store again.tried to contact via customer feedback to Kroger however the receipt I received did not have a survey number.. This Kroger super store has really most if not all the items you would have on your grocery list. They also have good weekly sales tied too their Kroger discount card at some of the lowest prices you will find around where you get the card for free by applying for it at the store. In general, I use this store/chain as my go too store for basic items and small purchases based primarily on their location which is close to home. You can actually get similar selection and prices at the big chain Meijers/Walmart in this area as well but they are further from my house and is the reason I use this store. From a shopping strategy, Costco will always be my first choice for shopping for all my bulk purchases and items of interest that they carry where I use Kroger to fill in the holes on my grocery list that I could not get from Costco. If you're looking for basic items with decent selection than this Kroger will fit your bill but for higher end/specialty items, top quality meat and bulk purchases at the lowest price you will need to look elsewhere. read more

I have tried three Krogers in the area and now shopping ANYWHERE else. Their stores are filthy, the employees lack any sense of customer service and Kroger just doesn't seem to care. I hope their stores get sold to a company that gives a s**t. I have been to Busch's (not bad, but limited selection), Trader Joes ( good but does not have all the brands I buy) Meijer ( too big, I don't like super stores), Walmart ( probably the best of them all) and many others. Pharmacy went down with the new pharmacist that started new this year. She believes she knows more then the doctor. The doctor called in the same scripts which I've been on for years and now this new pharmacist doesn't agree so she refuses to fill. She said "I don't care what any doctor sends in, if I don't agree then I will refuse to fill". This used to be a great pharmacy until this new pharmacist came in. Not only will we never return to that pharmacy but we will do everything in our power to stop anyone from going there and we will no longer spend a single dollar with Kroger. The Kroger at corner of Union Lake/Commerce Rd is perfect example of "what we get" as a result of NO competition in the Detroit metro area . Latest example of poor service (there have been many) today--Thanksgiving Week , first no carts and NO baggers on duty (hello, where is management or better yet A Store Manager). I shop there every week & it never fails they are always out of something I need. The lines are always long & I am always having to bag my own food. There is not enough of variety of food either. The one thing I can say nice is the balloon area & the Bakery is very helpful. read more
