Really strange entrance to the store which feels cramped and confusing. You head down a narrow hallway and some people are heading in, others heading out. Once you get inside, everything opens up, and the store is rather huge inside. The store is logically arranged and there are helpful signs and pricing. The usual malfunctioning self-checkout machines--you've scanned everything correctly and all your items appear on screen, yet you still manage to trigger the idiotic 'help is on the way' announcement. By the time help arrives you could have checked out three times. And to add additional joy to the experience, young mothers with their screaming, ill-behaved little darlings seem to choose the same "off hours" for their grocery shopping as you do. Healthy Cereal choices are a joke. Don't understand why they can't stock more of the 'Simple truth' brand items, but they can't or don't. Stopped in to this Kroger during a recent visit. It was easy to find pretty much all that I need and I even found some good snacks for camping on sale. I definitely will stop in again if in the area. read more

Here is what I was left with on my most recent visit: No ladyfingers. No marshmallow fluff. Over priced. The lights in the parking lot suck. This used to be one of the better grocery stores. A few years ago it was much nicer and though I do still shop here I feel like it is more for sentimental reasons than for the fact that they are deserving of the business. Their produce section used to be really nice but now it's really not (there are a lot of gnats in this store). Their meat is not the freshest and the store is always a little bit dirty. It's a place that can be nice to hop into and get a few little things but it's just not what it used to be. I used to do all of my grocery shopping here and I can't really do that now (though I wish that I could). I feel like they could do a better job of keeping cans, boxes and other evidence of re-stocking under control. At times it is a bit much. The employees are clearly disgruntled and like hollering at each other and talking about their job searching activities (because they want to leave). The bakery is nice and they do try to help you in that section (which can't be said of everyone). Sometimes they have a few special items at this store that you can't get anywhere else which is nice but that really is it. I wish they would do better. I also think it would be better if Kroger's as a company stopped focusing so much on building out their analytics and increasing the use of technology at their stores and focused on sourcing healthy fresh food for their customers to eat instead of using them for all that they are worth and treating them like they are disposable. read more

Kroger on the west coast is a frequent stop. When I stopped the other night it was the only place open which was a nice convenience. But I got to the refrigerator case and there was minimal stock inside. I should be able to get a milk and orange juice and not see empty refrigerator Cases. By the time I finally found an employee to ask they were less than interested to help bc it was time to go home. Prices are less than impressive as well. Ive made a couple of stops since in hopes things were different, t least they had milk and OJ. ;-) read more

I use the Kroger credit card to get extra points for gas and free grocery checks every quarter! I use all the coupons I can. I really save money here and so it's why I shop here. The store needs some issues fixed definitely but the people that work here are top notch! Always friendly and helpful. They are out of sale items regularly and the produce is not awesome sometimes but I look past that because of all the money I save. Would love to see the issues fixed tho fo sho! :) read more

Given the choices we have in Abingdon, Kroger wins my business. The coupons and sales are the best in town. I use the credit card to earn cash back and save on gas. The store carries a wide selection of items. Yes, they could use some updates, but that does not discourage my shopping there.
