I have noticed on many occasions that the produce gets moldy quickly, so always check your produce. For a small town I would expect the cashiers would be a bit more friendly, and would remember faces but most of the time they don't (if they recognize me they definitely don't show it). You can get paper bags on request, and if you shop there frequently and you would like them to carry an item, they will do that too for you. Shop local!

But when I lived in Rochester, New York for 4-1/2 years, I shopped at Wegmans. This grocery store really made me feel like I was shopping there. This is really a great grocery store. The shelves are well stocked, and plenty of items to choose from. I wanted fruit, so I decided to visit here. The pineapple was so sweet, and delicious. They have a bakery, seafood department, deli and etc. My husband had been here with his friends from his job, so he knew where everything was. He love their egg rolls. Whatever kind you decide, it's packed with the meat. My husband had pork egg rolls. He bought 3 since they are delicious. The meat department is unbelievable. I saw the Hy Vee on the way to my hotel and I new I would be back later for some stuff for the fridge which I'm not going to bore you with. Hy Vee reminds me of Meijer with the great produce as you walk in and the great deli cases as you round the store and let's not forget the nice fresh seafood case. I was able find everything I was looking for and and get out quickly because unlike Walmart they have plenty of registers open with friendly people waiting to help you.
