I shopped Kroger for over 20 years as a loyal customer . The last few years at all locations it's all went downhill. Not only are the stores not fully stocked and staffed well. The fact to see items I buy weekly go up in price yet remain the same at other stores and then see the stores being 'revamped' by unnecessary and unneeded construction and changes is beyond infuriating! I'd rather pay the same or get more sales then you add a stupid new Kroger sign!! I also tried to pay at the pump and there was a note saying be back in 15 min! went in the store and they said apologies and they had been telling that staff member to stop leaving the pumps unattended. So didn't get gas and wasn't wor died about trying again and will not again. My number can show where for years I was in the store at least twice a month and always used my gas points , in many months about a year you can now see I hardly visit a Kroger at all and don't get gas there either . When I just did stop in recently and see a product go up once again that has remained the same price at other stores and the store was just under construction I just left my half full cart and didn't worry about finishing my shoooing I just left the cart and went to another store. Kroger was great for so long and now I hate your store and company . Aldi and Walmart have all the items and I'm saving lots of money too. read more

Do anything you can to avoid coming here. Went in for a very quick trip with just a few groceries needed. As we got to self checkout, we got stopped 3 separate times by the machine not operating quickly enough. There was one employee for the entire area of self checkouts (probably 20 customers at one time) so we had to wait each time the machine wouldn't work. We then needed a security tag cut off one item and had to wait about 10 minutes before deciding to approach another employee. When we approached her with a quick question she said, "it better be very quick" before I could even ask what was needed. Bathrooms were also gross and someone was sleeping in the last stall. read more

Clean, Reliable Grocery Store I've always been in love with discounts. Kroger is full of them. From discounts on food, to sales of close-outs, to the ever-important $0.03 off gas, Kroger is a wonderful place to shop. It opens at an opportune time considering its near where I work and the staff have always been friendly and helpful. The store is clean and has exactly what I would expect a large grocery store like Kroger to have. I've always been impressed with their flower and balloon selection and the way they redecorate their sodas for different sport seasons. Overall, this is a fine grocery store to shop at. At the very least, stop here to get your gas! read more

I have been shopping at Kroger, Rio Hill since moving to the area in 2019, and the quality of customer service has descended to an all time low, except for the meat and seafood department. The checkout area is especially bad with one or maybe two checkouts available and usually only half of the self checkouts. I have actually left a basket of groceries after asking the front checkout supervisor to open additional registers only to be told she didn't have the authority to do so and the manager was not available. Updating to recognize the on duty manager (I can't recall her name) who was GREAT when I had my card declined and needed to contact my bank. She kept my frozen items in the ice machine, and stood by while I got everything situated. Thank you! read more

Three times now i have called and double checked the website before i drive 35 minutes to get there at 10:35-45. All three times the door is locked and the person there just shrugged and says sorry Why would u say you are open till 11pm when u certainly are not? read more

Store was like any other Kroger. Clean and had everything I needed to make some delicious chick pea stew for my college friends. However do NOT EVER use the bathroom here. In an emergency I would still rather shit my pants than use their facilities again. read more

It's under renovation, but I'm so surprised it has tons of fresh seafood, deli with boars head deli, bakery and butcher. A little disorganized, but I was pleased as I needed seafood heading into town. read more

This is your typical run-of-the-mill grocery store. Need milk, eggs, household goods? Yes, this is your place! Prices are reasonable and employees were friendly. It's always great to find a place that can fill your needs away from home, while traveling. During our stay in Charlottesville, we visited here a couple times and each visit was a very pleasant one. Even though it was close to Christmas, it was wasn't overly crazy in the store and thankfully I did not have to push through crowds to get what I needed for me and my family to get out of there in a timely manner. read more

I like this Kroger. The prices are decent. The employees are nice. Make sure you have your Kroger loyalty store card with you.

This place is pretty stellar. It was under construction there for a few months, and it somewhat still is. However, it's all to make the place better for everyone. They have great selection, including a dedicated bakery, cheese station, and wine/craft beer section. Pricing is decent. There are some things that are slightly cheaper at other places around time, but it's always going to be a back-and-forth when it comes to groceries. Kroger does have their fuel perks program. For every $100 you spend on groceries, they will give you $0.10 off of every gallon of gas for a given fill-up. So, hypothetically, if you spend $300 on groceries in a month, you could fill up with a $0.30/gal discount. I think that the points are good for 60 days until they expire. Overall, it's a great store with good employees and decent pricing. What else can you ask for in a grocery store? I'd recommend it! read more

This is a fine store and all but you can never get down any of the isles without an employee stocking or ripping a display apart.

The worst service I've ever scene in this store, the people don't care about their customers, and it's a shame... Get with it guys !.

Is there a rating below one star? After waiting for over an hour on Wednesday to pick up groceries and not receiving them, the charges showed up on my credit card on Thursday. I have now been reassured that the charges will be removed within 7 - 10 days. read more

This store has super helpful people working at the wine and cheese section. They always speak to me and talk to me about different products they carry. Sometimes they do wine samples and the cheese associates usually offer you samples to find out what you like before you purchase, if you ask, they're happy to help you. Customer service line is always a little slow, but the associates are very helpful and friendly, the wine, cheese, salad, antipasto, bread, veggie, meat sections, have a good deal of variety in products. This is a very good store. I have even nicknamed it "the nice Kroger". I drive 5 miles out of my way past another Kroger to get to this one. Also, you can get gasoline, and there's a nail place, craft store, clothes retailers, abc store, a smoothie place, and a tobacco outlet. Great all-in-one stop. read more

It's a Kroger. But the worker there in the bathroom told me the assistant managers keep getting in trouble because they don't have a store-use account for simple things like the correct sized trash bags to use... My friends there should be able to make the store a more inviting place. I mean the company is paying like almost nothing for the products, you can grab trashbags off the shelf, write it down in a book, and then give it to your accountant and he'll know what to do with it... Simple Solutions guys. Don't make life harder than it needs to be for anybody. read more

Ron "manager" at kroger you sir managed to become a store manager for some crazy reason without knowing your own store depts or policies. Ive been coming to this store for 2 years straight and yesterday's i got treated like sh*t at your WU dept. Spoke to you and you didn't do a single thing to help because your answer was " i dont know this dept, she knows best" how are you a store manager if you dont know a certain department. I want you and your superiors to know that you just lost a big customer. Also you said you wanted names to educate them on policies i name you Ron.. you're the one that needs the education and a demotion maybe you can learn something if you actually work for once in your life. read more

Ok my experience was good I did self check out the women at the end was very helpful and nice. Well then the part that upsets me. My teenage daughter and I went to customer service to update phone number on the saving card. Well there where two older (women from orgin India.) they were being very nice and almost apologetic . They had coupons and the cashier would not honor them. Multiple coupons for same items. The customer service employee got loud and said read the back of the coupon . You would of known Yada Yada the women and her mom in her 60 and 80 I have lived a shelters life I guess Racism is duhhh all colors. This older employee needs a sensitivity class.
