This Kroger is definitely my go to Kroger for day to day items. The staff is always friendly, and they typically have what I need. If you need specialty items, Newport is a super Kroger so check that out. They're always trying to make it better for the community, like the new addition of more self check outs! read more

well i worked here for a year and they were horrible people to their employees. they had a mouse and roach problem and the food the mice got in they put back on the shelf. so i wouldn't recommend coming to the bellevue kroger and take the extra minutes to newport this guy sat at the service desk for almost a hour just trying to get help from the managers. read more

Had the worst experience shopping tonight. Your Google Hours shows as posted below. I went in to get literally cat food and toilet paper. There were a TON of people still here shopping that I had seen and a rude lady came up and asked me why I was there shopping. It was 9:57pm when I walked in. The doors OPENED for me so I figured I was fine. All I grabbed was cat food, the toilet paper and a drink and walked towards the front when the lady came and shook her head at me and snapped at me asking if I knew the store was closed. Obviously from the many people there, I did not know. She had me abandon my basket and forced me to leave while shaking her head at me and pushing the cart away from me. I will literally never be back here again. Carothers Kroger will always be better than this one and worth the extra 5 minutes. Shame on you. read more

I ordered delivery today as a way to control my impulse spending and because I don't love shopping anyway. All of my items were available (hasn't been the case in the past) and my delivery driver (a Kroger employee) was outstanding. He was early, which was fine, and the dispatch center tried to call me to ask me if that was OK. I missed that call, but the driver called stating he was here. He followed my instructions about where to park and was so friendly and kind. He even offered to help me carry my items inside! I like shopping this store for basic, quick items. It's not big, but the cashiers are usually friendly and it's a quick in and out. And I can almost always find what I need. It's not a Marketplace and if you're looking for unique items, it may not be your best bet - for the staples, you'll be fine. read more

Writing this review to warn potential shoppers that this Kroger is a hot mess that refuses to comply to the "no dogs" policy (only real service dogs are allowed). Yesterday I went there and was confronted by a woman who had a very large pit bull on a loose leash. These two things were blocking an aisle. As I moved forward to get to another aisle, the pit bull quickly moved at me. The woman had to pull it back, which was obviously difficult for her. I went to the customer service desk to tell them this had occurred, but was met with a sullen indifference by the worker behind the desk. He said he didn't know if they had a no dogs policy, so he called a supervisor. The response was a "no approach policy". So, nothing was done. This store is in sad shape due to the competition up on Pavilion Parkway. It's difficult to navigate and is often dirty. The staff is indifferent to customers. Go there if you must, but avoid if you can. read more

Good place. Relatively small than the Pavillion Parkway Kroger (Marketplace) which is just 2-3 miles further. However, this one is very handy for quick trips when you don't want to drive all the way down to a Kroger Marketplace. They have all the basic necessity grocery items available, so if you are just for groceries, it is pretty much the same as Marketplace. However, you don't find the bakery section, in-store Starbucks, salad bar, bulk section and cooked food section like the one in Marketplace. Again, unlike Kroger Marketplace, there is no Kroger gas station outside this one. The staff is nice and friendly. No unpleasant incidents so far. The parking is good enough and adequate, although a little dirty on occasions. Overall, a good place for quick trip grocery. read more

Okay for being basic. I very rarely go into this location, mostly because I am rarely in that part of town. So, I can only review the chicken area in the deli for take out orders. I was VERY disappointed with the service and the food. The employee took a long to get my order ( 2 2 piece dark chicken meals) to me. She gave me 2 1 piece breast meals. The potato wedges were stale, the chicken wasn't very juicy. The cost was the same for either meal. I am undecided if I should complain because, as I said earlier, I VERY rarely go to this location. read more

Went here again after some time and surprise nothing changed. This was a Wednesday at 2:30 no carts in the area most people enter, walked to the exit side and carts overflowing while several employees gather to chit chat. Walk by the deli 3 more employees not helping any customers just chatting while across the aisle in the bread area looked as if noone had straightened out in over a week, so I set my cart down and headed out as I did 2 other customers coming in were discussing that every time they come there are no carts so we had a bonding moment and all left together!! I will never be back to this Kroger. Absolutely terrible customer service. Hours on the website say they are open until 11. Randomly now they close at ten today. I get there and only need a couple items so hurry to get my things and after getting just one item am asked to leave the store and go check out. I told the person I needed one more item and it would take me just two seconds to get. They said I could not and that I had to leave the store immediately as they are closed now. Never in my life have I been to a store that forced customers out of the store after close ( and I was there at normal hours they just happened to be closed without updated their site) this is the most frustrating experienced I have ever had. HAVE A SENSE OF COMMUNITY THERE IS A FREAKING SNOW STORM AND THIS IS THE ONLY TIME I COULD GET GROCERIES !!!!!! How about instead of telling me to leave help me get my last item. I think a couple of the reviewers have this Kroger confused with the Newport Kroger. This Kroger is behind the Party Source is much older and much smaller. This is a solid Kroger if you're picking up a couple very specific common items. The selection is not expansive but it is well organized which helps when you're trying to get in and out quickly. read more

I'm reviewing this after the redesign/remodel opening in October of 2012. The store is bigger and nicely laid out. Somehow it feels intuitive. I seem to have a general idea where everything is. Yes, it's laid out a lot like it was before the closing but I think it still would be. I think this is a sign of good merchandizing. The new color scheme isn't great but there is a nice open quality. There's no drop ceiling giving the place a spacious feel that it doesn't truly have. I do like that they didn't make this a mega-store. It's big, yes but not so big that I avoid it after a day at the office. If a grocery store is selling furniture and I have to hike by that department to pick up something after work, I'll just skip it. The negatives: The exit door. To me, it seems like a fire hazard. Upon checking out you are funneled to a sliding door opens not much wider (maybe just as wide) as the front door of my house. When carrying two bags I have to step through sideways. No big deal but what's with the narrow doors? If I was pushing a big chart or if there's a jam up where, say, somebody drops something, it's going to be messy. Also, the aisles are too close together. That's not normally a problem but it ties in with another negative I have. The people. Can't Kroger establish a dress code? Or a behavior code? The mess of people is only exacerbated by putting them into narrow aisles. There's the middle-aged overweight cart people bumping and beeping their way through the store. There's the beefy, gape-mouthed family of four trying to walk down the aisle four-abreast. There's the pajama pants/sweat pants clad WIC mom not paying attention to her babies until they're out of arm range and she has shout. There's the loud-mouth suburbanites on their cell phones doing their usual thing of taking up more space in general. Ugh. It drives me crazy. They'd be much easier to tolerate with wider aisles. But they're narrow, which is why I usually go before 7 AM. Heck, a no sweat-pants, no pajama pants policy would go a long way to classing the clientele up to match the new design. read more

Pretty much everything about this Kroger is the same as other Krogers except the following, which give it an extra star up from average: - This Kroger has furniture, homewares, and whatnot. I'm not sure I was ever at a Kroger and thought "hmmm, I could use a couch while I'm out", but if you do need a couch, you can buy one here. - There are snacks galore available for you to nom one while shopping. I don't know about you, but I have a big problem grocery shopping on an empty stomach. Inevitably, I end up buying an absurd amount of uneccesary junk food when I do. The snacks are all over the store, and if you're like me and have very little class, you can go back and get more from the same station. - It's not in Hyde Park. This means you don't have to worry about getting run down in the parking lot by a soccer mom in a Suburban who is either applying makeup or watching a Days of Our Lives episode in the vehicle's television screens. - It is much newer and in better condition than the one in Hyde Park. Just a note: since this is in KY, there is a separate storefront for their liquor store. I don't know the specifics of KY's arcane laws regarding sinful activities, but you do have to walk next door if you want hard liquor. read more

I placed an order for a bakery cake for a baby shower that I was hosting online on July 11 for a July 29 pick up at 11 am at the Newport Pavillion Kroger. I received an immediate email confirmation with all of the correct details, so I felt secure about the order. The day before the event my OCD kicked in and I called the bakery to confirm. They didn't have a record of my order!!! Plus, they require a 24 hour preorder window, so I couldn't reorder it. I called the number on my email confirmation and the lady started checking other nearby Kroger bakeries to see if the order had been accidentally sent somewhere else. It hadn't been, but Sidney from the Bellevue Kroger called me and offered to save the day by making us the perfect cake. She was so kind and helpful and the decorator/artist, Bobbi, did a FANTASTIC job with the cake. It was beautiful and delicious. They even threw in a balloon for the shower. I highly recommend this bakery for any event. read more

I love Kroger but this branch is possibly the worst supermarket I've been to in the U.S. I was told not buy fresh produce here but oh boy they were right! I got guacamole and fried chicken, both with bad smell when I opened it at home. It's like they throw the bad products on this store. There're homeless in the area, I'm not sure if that's the reason. What an unpleasant experience for my first time (and last) visiting this store. On my way home I stop by for some light food shopping. I did see the folks standing in the fruit and vegetable area eating oranges, which I thought was quite odd. But the issue was not while shopping, it was while checking out. There was two ladies checking out in front me on aisle 10. Once there was room on the belt I unloaded my groceries from the cart. While the cashier (Chris) was finishing ringing up the ladies in front of me, he says to me "Sorry sir, but my register is closed." I look up and see the light is on the aisle marker and put my head down and sighed. He said again "I'm sorry, but I'm closed." I look on the belt at my groceries and then back at my cart. The cashier then says "I was just joking, I'm still open." Needless to say my stare back at him must of seemed like he had not made the wisest choice. I asked him if this was how Kroger trains their employees? The cashier figured out the right answer this time and replied "no". I asked him if this was the way to treat any customer - much less a first time customer and last time customer, and a type of customer who "once you check me out will call the store manager from the parking lot and complain about your service" customer? He again replied "no". Once I got to my car I called the night manager and relayed what happened and then I called the store manager and told him what had transpired. Both were apologetic, said they would address the issue, and told me thanks for calling. So, now off to shop at Meijers or Publix where I don't get this type of poor customer service. read more

All right, all right. I get it, there are Krogers everywhere. There are grocery stores within a 5 mile radius of everywhere. However, this Kroger is unlike most Krogers and even less like most grocery stores. So, when Scott suggested going to Kroger for lunch, I did not hesitate to reply with a "sold!" So, in to the car we jumped, across the bridge we drove and into this fine Kroger's deli area we glided. Located just passed the apples and cucumbers sits a glorious section of pre-made and made-to-order delights. There is a soup bar, salad bar, chef's bar, sushi bar, made-to-order hot sandwiches, an area of pre-made lasaganas and pastas and salads. They'll heat it up for you if you'd like. Oh so delicious, healthy food, oh so plenty of options and oh so generous portions! Today, I got a cup of the Chicken Tortilla soup and some brocolli salad. Scott indulged in a made-to-order sandwich that was overflowing in smoked turkey and some seafood salad. It was the perfect lunch for such a beautiful day! read more

I am serisouly considering changing locations and having a further drive just so I don't have to deal with them. 10 minutes their time is really 25 mins, and the line is always so looooong! they move at the pace of smell, and the one lady couldn't even tell me what time they closed because the normally didn't work there! This Kroger is nowhere near the size and "quality" of the big Kroger nearby, but in a pinch it will work. The shelves are stocked and the place is clean so at least it has that going for it. I have not had any negative experiences here and hopefully that streak continues. Other positives: there are plenty of self checkout registers and there is almost always a worker nearby for any scanning problems or questions.The whole store can be walked through in about a quarter of the time compared to other Krogers. read more

If you live near Newport on the Levee, this location should be your go-to supermarket when you need a few quick items. Although it's certainly not as aesthetically pleasing as the Kroger Marketplace in Newport, it's far from unattractive (not that the Kroger in OTR hasn't set that bar exceptionally low). The produce selection is decent, and they have a butcher on staff during business hours. They're also open 24 hours with the exception of holidays, so you can satisfy most basic cravings regardless of whether it's 2 pm or 2 am. Beats White Castle then... read more

The Krogers in Newport,KY is nice, but it is way to big and you have to walk the whole store before you can find what you are looking for.
