I anxiously await the opening of Publix in Elizabethtown! I feel like Kroger makes customers jump through hoops with the MANY, MANY sale gimmicks they inflict to get the sale price: Weekly Digital deals (must download coupons, Buy 5 to get $1off each, Buy 3, get 1 free, BOGO(the same item and you can't get one for half price, like Publix.) Also the store is dirty. Employees don't bother to pick up trash they are standing over. There is trash all over the parking lot and around the front of the store!?! Eighty five percent of the employees seem miserable, never smile, never offer to help. I would classify Publix as the Chick-fil-A of grocery stores and Kroger more like McDonalds. read more

I stop by in this Kroger on my way home from Springfield to buy a few groceries for my family. I met her a few times and it's actually a nice Kroger they've revamped it got a Starbucks inside it's large clean and affordable. It's a good Kroger for sure and they have a great selection and I really like the set up that they have in the building read more

I really like this store. It has it has all of the characteristics of a big-city Kroger (meat, deli, fresh fish, cheese, bakery, hot entres, olive bar, and even a Satrbucks) but just on a smaller scale. I especially appreciate the bulk foods section because it offers a nice variety of nuts (many with chocolate or yogurt coatings), rices and grains, dried fruit and candies. Usually, I stick to the fresh meats, fruits, vegetables and produce sections, so I can't really say much about the packaged foods (in boxes) or canned goods. Thus, for the things that I puschase, this Kroger fits the bill nicely. read more

I always prefer to shop at Kroger over any other grocery store in town. It's cheaper. (In my opinion) The best thing about it is that I can add coupons to my mobile app and not have to worry about bringing any paper coupons with me any time I go shopping. It will automatically use those mobile coupons any time I use my Kroger card. I also love the convenience of the Clicklist. I work full time and do other hobbies on my time off. I don't always have time to go grocery shopping. Any time I need anything I go on the mobile app, add whatever I need and at the end of the week or end of every other week or whatever I submit a clicklist and go pick up my groceries after work. I placed an order for my Kroger Clicklist on Friday, when I arrived to get my groceries Jessica informed me that an employee had accidentally given my groceries to someone else. $245 worth of groceries. I said I understand, I'll just take a refund. it is now Tuesday and my refund still hasn't been deposited into my bank account. This has to be the most pathetic situation I've delays with yet. You will have to forgive me lately as I have lacked a real impetus to write. My college journalism teacher would simply call it laziness or procrastination but since he's not here and I don't have a deadline, who's gonna know? Nonetheless, I would be failing in my duty as an Elitist to not write and I can't do that. Normally, I wouldn't mention such an enormous corporate entity grocery like Kroger's, it doesn't really fit within my modus operandi but this one deserves a rating. I live in Louisville and commute to Bardstown daily. I'm fairly familiar with many of the Krogers in Louisville, I've hit up several in the past few years, and this is the best among the many. It is definitely the largest. Extra-wide aisles, patio furniture and a nice little sushi bar are included plus the usual suspects: bakery, pharmacy, deli, etc. Specifically, I do want to give special mention to the sushi area. Other Kroger's have these little sushi bars and they do an "OK" job. This one is better than most (likely because of the Asian contingent in Bardstown.) It's not fantastic sushi but it's more than serviceable for a quick bite at lunch and fresh too. More variety than the other Krogers too. The sushi chef makes it right there and offers samples of his "Sushi of the Day" too. I'm all for free, it's nearly my favorite thing. Nearly. Finally, this is the cleanest and best organized Krogers I've seen bar none. The workers seem happy and helpful. If it weren't for the hour long commute home I would likely shop here regularly. So, 4-stars for you Bardstown Kroger's, because I'm a fan, and no one is perfect, at least that's what my journalism teacher would say. read more

We appreciate that Clicklist is an option for Kroger now, but they have now added on 4 additional Clicklist lanes and the last two times that I have ordered a clicklist, I've waited for between 35 and 55 minutes for my groceries. That is unacceptable and they should not give out timeslots for this many people in the same timeframe if it's going to take this long to get our groceries. I tried calling the store to ask for a manager and it rang and rang for about 5 minutes with no answer. Either add more to your staff or reduce the slots available for pick up. read more

Great experience all around until checkout. The cashier was nice enough, but the person bagging...I think her nametag said "Blake", a bigger woman with very short blonde hair. She never stopped her personal conversation with the cashier about a medical procedure her insurance would not cover. She never looked up at me, never spoke to me, then proceeded to toss my groceries back in the cart with no regard to whether or not more fragile things were getting crushed. She pretty much tarnished my visit that included many other extremely nice and helpful employees. read more

This Kroger's pharmacy is slow. The people are nice enough but if you need a same day pickup for a prescription, we'll that's a five hour wait. The app said 11:00 am, reality, 3:30pm. I went to pick it up and waited 25mins in the drive thru, not bad considering I've waited 45mins before. When I got to the window there was a 10 min wait. Why? Because it still wasn't ready! After 6 months of this it was time to go to Walgreens. Same day pick up time, 90mins. BTW the app notified me once my prescriptions were ready, after that you have to check it. read more

Not bad for a Kroger. I got to see a real life Jerry Springer style fight in the parking lot and it was just my first day in Kentucky!! The police got called in and everything. I hope they caught the couple speeding away in their gold minivan. This Kroger is about two football fields wide and has everything you would ever need to buy to eat for your entire life and then, for good measure, 2x that. In response one of the other reviews, this Kroger is indeed open 24-hours. However, like Wal-mart, one entrance is locked after a certain time at night. Simply go into the other set of doors. You're going to spend more money at Kroger than Wal-mart obviously, but the difference between the quality of produce is night and day. Also, you don't have to deal with the quantity of people you would at Wal-mart. I almost prefer shopping at Kroger for both of these reasons. As far as service goes, eh... In my experience, the kids who have checked me out are of high school age and haven't quite mastered the skill of faking enthusiasm when need be. Soooo, I tend to hit the U-Scan when I can. read more

One of my favorite Krogers to go in. Everything is always picked up and cleaned up. There is also a huge amount of space to be able to get around. It's easy to be in and out with the several self check outs they have available. They always have enough employees available to help customers and get through a busy time. The Bardstown Kroger's has the best customers and the best employees ever that's my opinion

I'm not a fan of most Kroger stores but this one has so much to offer: a huge specialty selection with exotic cheeses, house made sushi, (that's fairly tasty), a HUGE freezer full of organic and vegan offerings, (it's the only place close by where I can find Tofurky), and a fully functional pharmacy. The store is usually very clean, although the public bathrooms could use some work. I'm only rating Krogers a 4 out of 5 because they love saying something is on sale when it isn't. Today I saw where 2 liters were on sale 2 for $4. You're not pulling the wool over my eyes today, Kroger! read more

Since obtaining a new doctor, I selected this store's pharmacy due to its proximity to my home. I have experienced hassles with each visit. They claim to never receive prescription requests that I stood and watched the Prescription Tech enter before I left the doctor's office. I have had to call back to the doctor's office each time to have them resend the information and miraculously, the RX gets it that time. I've also been told they can't understand a RX amount when it's clearly printed on my visit summary and I heard the Tech specifically tell them the amount. If Walmart were closer, I'd go there. Since I use a manual wheelchair to get places, I'm stuck, for the moment with this pharmacy. read more

NOT 24 HOURS. I'm sure this Kroger's is just like all the other Kroger's and really nice inside but I can't give this place higher than a 2-star rating because I never got to enter. Yup, a 24-hour store, whose doors were locked at 11:30pm. I knocked on the door and even tried to pry open the doors but to no avail. I just stood there in disbelief as I read and re-read the Store Hours, "24 hours" until I was fed up with the ridiculousness. read more
