I had my first appointment with Dr. Borrison today for my annual checkup. I found her to be a wonderful, warm and caring doctor who wanted to be sure I felt I had lots of time to ask questions. I didn't have any, but she did a great job of making sure. She'll eventually learn I'm no shrinking violet when it comes to questions. Dr. Borrison was very efficient with the not so very fun part of an annual exam. Her hands were warm and firm which is what I prefer (hesitant just makes me feel ticklish). I have always found the office staff at Los Olivos to be on the ball, professional and a lot of fun. Well, they politely laugh at my stupid jokes which counts for a lot in my book. The bathroom is close to the waiting area in case you need to dive in and out. It's clean and well maintained. Since I live in Los Gatos, I can just walk to their office. I would feel comfortable having my teenage daughter visiting her to talk with her about teenage things that she couldn't discuss with me. read more

Dr.borrison is okay but her staff is TERRIBLE. They make it is so hard to switch doctors. They're all rude. Dr. Borrison always seems like she is in a rush and never cares. I definitely recommend you staying away from Her. read more

Great experience! Never thought I would be happy to see a gynecologist, haha! Dr. Borrison was fast & efficient. I was a new patient and just needing an annual check up. She went thru all my medical history and concerns and made me feel very comfortable for my least favorite kind of exam. Every staff member was kind and courteous as well. I look forward to a continued relationship with this office. read more

Dr. Borrison seems to be a competent and aggressive doctor. But as you know half the time as a patient you are interacting with staff, billers, etc. They are rude and uncaring and will take payments intended for one office visit and apply it to other visits while you're in dispute. The practice uses a portal system which apparently has replaced human interaction. Unfortunately there's no app out there that can replace patient care. read more

I have been seeing Dr Borrison for around 10 years and she delivered my daughter via c-section three years ago and I cannot say enough good things about Dr Borrison and her staff. Dr Borrision is always positive, friendly, informative and professional. As for her bedside manner, she is an excellent listener, caring and seems genuinely happy to re-connect every year when I visit for my exam. She is supportive, gives great advice, and is on top of the latest in women's health care. Her approach is very practical she encourages you to listen to your own body and to take your personal health seriously. I've experienced everything from the routine to the traumatic (urgent c-section) with Dr Borrison and I could not have asked for a finer physician. I feel fortunate to see her and the bottom line is that I feel extremely comfortable, well-understood and confident when I am in her care...and for an ob/gyn what more can you ask for!?! read more

After reading all the reviews of Dr. Borrison, I felt the need to write a review. Dr. Borrison and her staff are wonderful! I have been seeing Dr. Borrison for about 5 yrs and she has delivered both of my daughters. She made it a point to be the one to actually deliver them! She is a very thorough and a nice person who actually cares about you! She is not a fluffy Dr., and will tell you like it is... and I appreciate that and respect that... I can't stand the dr's that always beat around the bush.... As for the staff... they always greeted me with a smile and were very responsive when I would email or call with questions. Anyways... if you're looking for a great OB... Dr. Borrison is it! :) read more

I went to Dr. Borrison based on three recommendations. I had a conference with her first and that went well...she spent time with me and we discussed conception etc. After that the appointments were very brief. She really doesn't waste any time. There isn't much small talk or any reminders. She didn't remind me to stop sleeping on my back or anything like that. There really wasn't much in the way of conversation at all. If I has questions she would answer them but there wasn't much in the way of concern on her part. She did however properly diagnose my parental anxiety disorder and got me in touch with the right people to treat that properly. My C-section went well and the scar is great...but I need a little more bedside manner. Her office staff was always great. I wasn't too impressed with the quality of the ultrasound machines...my friends all had MUCH better pictures of their babies in-utero. All in all I think she is an excellent doctor and surgeon but she's not right for me. read more

Kris is a true professional and perfectionist. This is what I want in an obgyn. She just performed a hysterectomy on me and I had complete confidence in her abilities going in as well as coming out of surgery. I prefer no BS. That said, She also showed wonderful bedside manner. I saw her three times during the hospital stay. This is much better than my knee surgery experience where my surgeon never showed his face after the initial diagnosis. Is the office service great? No. But I don't blame the doctor for that. They are responsible for keeping the office running smoothly. read more

Well, when I had my daughter 7 years ago it was suggested by a friend that I use Dr. Borrison. I met with her and loved her, so that was it. She is just one of those doctors that is hard to find. She is warm, responsive, and takes the time to listen. She also REALLY knows her OBGYN stuff, if you know what I mean. :) I had to leave Dr. Borrison for awhile because of an insurance change. I was never able to find another doctor like her under my new insurance. BUT, I am back. I have a new job now and she is one of the providers under my new plan. It's so good to be back. read more

I decided to try doctor Borrison after Dr. Belton retired from private practice and reccomended a different doctor in the Los Ovlios Group that Dr. Borrison is a part of. I chose not to see the exact doctor that Dr. Belton had reccomended because my husband wanted me try seeing a female OBGYN. I do not generally enjoy giving negative reviews but this doctor warrants one. In fact, if one star was not the lowest rating I would rate her on the negative balance scale. OFFICE ENVIRONMENT: This group of doctors is located in several office suites within a medical complex with a couople doctors sharing each suite. It is extremely busy and the service is very impersonal. I felt that the office staff did not enjoy their jobs and the wait time was very long. Also, while I was there a couple, obviously waiting for a pre-natal appointment, were getting comfortable enough that I am shocked no one suggested they check into a hotel room. It was not what I personally would like to view while waiting in the lobby of a professional organization. DR. BORRISON: The first thing I did not find to my taste was her overall appearance the day I had my appointment with her. Her white coat was longer than her skirt and she was clearly not comfortable in the heels she was wearing. This is not the sort of attire appropriate for a professional office environment. I am a VERY tolerant person in spite of being highly conservative in my own lifestyle and I could have overlooked this had it ot been for the other issues. Dr. Borrison's overall manner was rude and I agree with what another reviewer wrote stating that regardless of all her high qualifications she would be better suited as a lawyer or perhaps in the Business world (other than the business of beinga doctor). She talked down to me as though I could not possibly be educated (perhaps my wearing full Islamic attire from head to toe gave her that impression?). She also apparently did not carefully review my chart which I painstakingly took the time to fill out in detail well in advance of my appointment and which included a letter as well as lab results from a different physician. Even after I answered her questions she seemed to forget what I told her. At this point I was still willing to give the benefit of doubt because everyone has bad days and MAYBE she was just having a bad day (or possibly hung over? that thought did cross my mind even though I have never consumed alcoholic beverages and can only speculate what being hungover must be like). When I discussed with her a medication and my dosage she said wrote a prescription for me with the wrong dose on it. I pointed this out to her and she said that I should try a lower dose. This was one of those moments when I can say I was literally dumbfounded. Seriously, she graduated from medical school and actually managed to get licensed??? I explained to her why I was currently on the said dose of that particular medication and why it would be futile to take less. Mind you it was not an odd dose or anything abnormal and trust me I would love not to have to take that kind of medicine at all except that some things in life happen that way. So she re-wrote the prescription. When I went to have the prescription dispensed she had apparently made a mistake and the pharmacist had to call her office. When I finally did get it dispensed it was for the wrong and lower dose of the medicine. I told the pharmacist to call the doctor because it is NOT the correct dose. The pharmacist did and once again dispened the prescription but still at a lower and incorrect dosage. So I declined the medicine because this was becoming a waste of my time and the pharmacist's and it was just too much trouble. I instead made an appointment with Anjali Tate, MD and never had a single problem with getting the medicine I needed at all. The treatment I received, both on a professional and personal ,from Dr. Tate was infinitely better! SOMETHING TO NOTE: Just this past March when I went for a scheduled c-section with my fifth baby and was cheking in at labor and delivery I overheard nurses talking about a patient who was on the verge of delivering her baby. Apparently they had called Dr. Borrison repeatedly and she still had not arrived. From what I gleaned from this conversation she had been given ample enough notice of this pending birth. Her apparent lack of promptness seemed not professionally acceptable and the nurses sure were quite vexed with her at that moment. Just the mention of her name gave me undeisrable flashbacks of that office visit a few years ago and how glad I was to have a very confident and prompt doctor to deliver my baby and not Dr. Borrison! I never saw the lady who was a patient of Dr. Borrison's but I sure did feel sorry for her that day. read more

I came to Dr. Borrison through my family practice doctor, Dr. Katheryn Shade (who is fabulous!). I was mostly there to get pap smears and have her help and guidance on another issue. Like a lot of people commented, to start off the receptionists at this place especially across the hall where i had to make my next appointment, weren't very inviting. Some of them had the, "Offer me a job that pays a buck more and i'll leave here for that." attitude. Maybe an off day? Well I apparently caught every single one of their off days. Long waits let me tell ya. I'm not late, i'm on time. I understand the small wait, but then i get into the exam room, wait more, then they actually tell me the Doctor wants to speak to me in her office first, another period of waiting more. There could be unforeseen circumstances i'm not aware of so don't let me complaining about wait deter you too much. I just feel all my visits were 95% wait, 5% actually getting things done and speaking to her. Which leads into that 5%. I feel like i'm a product on a factory line. Poke it there, wipe it there, seal it there, box it there, done. My sister said to me, "What, you want to be babied?" YES! HAhaahaha. I like to hear, "I'm about to insert the speculum." "Now i'm just going to take a swab." or what i would like to hear most "You're going to feel a little pinch from the needle." Thats right. I had to have some local anesthetic shot done where I can't see. I told her to begin with that i'm afraid of needles. Maybe I should have explained more, who knows. But i thought she would have at least warned me to brace myself, instead of shocking me, that i started to cry a little and whimper "owowowowow" over and over. Also when she spoke to me about my results and explained further into the situation, she sounded a bit condescending and apparently was a bit conservative to say anal sex. but referred to it as, "you know when you do that in that area." Or maybe i looked too dumb to get the "jargon". So if you're a lady on a time crunch. Don't need the pleasantries, go with it. Make an appointment here for your next "30 seconds or it's free" drive by pap. read more

Dr Borrison is one of the best doctors I have. I recently delivered a baby, and had some complications right after. I was terrified. I'm always worried I'm just crying wolf. When I saw Dr Borrison about my complication the first time she was exactly the person I needed. She assured me that I was right to be worried and helped me with my issue. I have been seeing her for over 10 years, and have realized that she is not only a great doctor, but a great person. After my recent complications, I know I can truly trust her with my health. Thank you Dr B! read more

I was told to come into Dr. Borrisons office 30minutes early to fill out any addt'l paperwork. Most of the paperwork took less than 5minutes. I then had to sit for 55more minutes until my name was finally called. After which a nurses aide took me to the back only to let me know that I would have to wait a few more minutes for Dr. Borrison. A few more minuted turned into 20minutes!! I spoke with Dr. Borrison and yes she has credentials that are far beyond impressive but I never felt a sense of connection with her. Almost like I was just another name in a long list for the evening. After the meeting, she takes me to to the room to undress and leaves me for another 20 to 25 minutes!! By this time I had had enough and wanted to leave. It took all of 5minutes to do the exam. I waisted almost 2hours in that bldg when I had an appt. Whats the use of making an appt if you have to go through all this? I see I'm not the only one that experience the WAITING FOREVER problem at this clinic. Time is valuable and I feel mines was wasted severely. read more

Well, my son's birth story goes this way. I had to find an OB/GYN and found Dr. Borrison on the list. Initial meeting was good, in her office and her talking about her experiences etc. Over the months, with every visit, it was more like a 3 mins conversation with her. She came, checked me and my baby's vitals and left. No questions about how the pregnancy was proceeding, if I was putting on too much weight, diet etc etc. So eventually I put 55+ pounds and she never said a word about managing it. Infact, my last ultrasound was in my 5th month and she did not recommend any after that. Also finally on the day of labor, I went to the hospital and luckily she was around for another case. So she checked me and left me with the epidural. Finally when there were complications after 5-6 hrs, she was nowhere around. I had to be taken for an emergency C-section, which was performed by another doctor. She came in later, after my baby was born. In short, if you want someone who is caring and excited about your pregnancy as you are, then find someone else. Dr. Borrison is anything but caring! read more

If I could give a negative amount of stars I would. Over six years ago I was so disgusted with Dr. Borrison that I switched care at 32 weeks gestation. Best decision I ever made and I've never looked back. She missed MANY complications. All my complaints and worries were brushed aside. I felt I was treated as a fearful first-timer and not taken seriously. Turns out my complaints were not only legit, but should have been taken very seriously. My child ended up having to be delivered at just 34 weeks, and even after he went home from the NICU I remained hospitalized due to so many complications. I will never know how it would have gone had I been under a more competent and compassionate physician's care, but I can tell you I have never regretted having a physician who I barely knew and who barely knew me deliver my child rather than Dr. Borrison. I have no faith that things would have turned out "okay" had she been at the helm. I am lucky to be alive as is my son, and it is no thanks to this doctor. read more

I met Dr. Borrison shortly after having my son in 2005 and since we had an insurance change I had to change OB's. I set up my first consult with her for an IUD and she took me in her office almost kind of talking me out of it! It was really odd? I felt like she either didn't like putting in IUD's or she didn't want me to come back? I kept having to tell he or sell her why I wanted to be on birth control since my son was now 5mos old. As I left she told me to really think about it. I did, came back a week later and had the IUD- Mirena put in! OUCHHHEEEEEE did it hurt. I almost fainted a couple of times and she didn't even warn me when she was putting it in! It was just awful, she was SUPER FAST, RUSHED and RUDE about it. When I told her I thought I was going to faint again, she headed out the door and said, "alrighty I'll have my nurse bring you some water and check in on you, BYE"! That was that. I almost starting crying she was so cold and rough with me! I believe a few months after that I tranferred to another OB/GYN. I have seen her around Good Sam and she has never said hello or recognized me. She's very business like and I think she would do better in finances or law- Or who knows than healthcare! read more

I had this doctor for my third pregnancy and delivery and I absolutely appreciate her, I trust her, she is understanding and sympatic, I don't understand why she has such a low rate.. Dr. Borrison has been my OB, surgeon and I cannot say enough good things about her. She's extremely knowledgeable and takes time to answer all your questions. My baby was breech and we had to opt for a C section. Dr. Borrison was the surgeon did a great job of the surgery as well as the post op care. I read some reviews here about her being indifferent or rushed and honestly I didn't find that to be the case at all during my consultations. She always took time to answer my questions and explain options. She also made time on a Sunday to do the surgery herself instead of passing it off to an on call doctor. I've had a great experience under the supervision of Dr borrison. read more

I would highly recommend her to any parents that would like to have the best doctor in town and have a wonderful experience of pregnancy and delivery! read more

After switching from Kaiser to another medical insurance plan, I looked to a close friend for a referral to her OB/GYN. She has seen Dr. Borrison for years and had both her children delivered by Dr. B. I arrived 30 minutes prior to my appointment as instructed. I had to check in across the way because Dr. B's nurses were out to lunch. The check-in ladies were less than friendly and seemed thrilled to be doing their jobs (insert sarcasm here). After waiting forever, they instructed me to go back over to Dr. B's office and hand my chart to the nurse. After doing so, I had to wait an additional 20 minutes to be seen. While waiting I overheard the very loud and bitchy nurses/admin ladies talking about their lunch plans, what they did the night before, etc. I found that to be rude and unprofessional. When I finally saw Dr. B she was very friendly and young. She took me in her office and went over my chart quickly. Then I was sent to the exam room for my annual PAP. It was a pretty quick, thorough visit which was nice after having to wait forever to get in there. I'm excited to see Dr. B in the future and to have her possibly deliver my future children. As for the bitchy, loud staff I can look past that for good health care from the doctor. read more

I have a long history with Dr. Borrison. She delivered my two babies and made a effort to be there for the delivery, even on her day off which was Easter Sunday. She is reserved and not a chatty doctor. She is professional but laid back and always stays calm when I am in a panic. I had a hysterectomy on Monday and she did a wonderful job. I don't have that much pain and appreciated that she did my surgery. She did it lathroscopically. (Mispelled) I had complications though. My cuff opened and I needed a second surgery so please read up on the Davinci Method and its risk. She visited me before the surgery and after the surgery two times. I liked that she wore her nice business attire and didn't show up in a white coat. She smiles and just shows me that she has her act together. I give her 4 stars out of 5 because her office is not that friendly but at least they are on time with ALL my phone calls and doctor visits. I highly recommend this doctor! read more

Delivered my 4th baby (3rd with Dr. Borrison) and had 1 miscarriage and I would never want to have any other Dr. Shes caring, emotionally supportive when you need it, straight to the point and doesnt mess around when it comes to delivery. Ive had my babies in the morning, afternoon and even at 11:54pm and she made it to every one of them with a smile on her face. The office staff is always kind and welcoming. Well, our case is little different with twin pregnancy. Since our regular doctor jennifer conwell was on leave, Borrision covered our delivery. So, we had to meet her once before the induction day. As Lisa H mentioned in her comment, she hardly spent time in our first meet with her. Not even 2 mins. But, we waited for more than 30 to 40 mins in the room. We were little disappointed. For this , i would give 2 stars But, on the day of delivery, she was on-duty at the hospital and did wonderful job. I got admitted around 3 AM for induction. She visited around 8 AM to break the water. She again visited in the noon and in the evening to check the dilation. And she was the main doctor while I gave the birth to my twins. She did excellent job in the delivery room. Guided me throughout the delivery process and managed beautifully. So, in this regard, I would give 5 stars for her. She again visited my room next day. So, I don't know If I can give 2 stars or 5 stars. But, overall I would rate above average. read more

She claims to be pro-natural birth but is nowhere close. After telling her repeatedly that I wanted only necessary interventions, she stripped my membranes at 37 weeks without even telling me she was going to do so beforehand. Dr. Borrison is an absolutely fabulous doctor. I just gave birth to my first daughter (after already being a patient of Dr. Borrison for 5+ years) and had a life-threatening condition develop during the pregnancy. Dr. Borrison not only took fantastic care of me, but made sure our baby was safe and developing properly throughout the pregnancy given my condition. She balanced the health of both us, and reassured me all along the way that both me and the baby were her patients and OUR health was her number one concern. Dr. Borrison not only was able to treat me, but our baby is now three weeks old and is perfect! I wouldn't consider working with anyone but Dr. Borrison - she's wonderful and cares about her patients tremendously!!! read more

I'm post-menopausal and was having some light bleeding. Just a little bit and not often, maybe once every few months. I mentioned it to my GP on a yearly visit and she said any bleeding at all needs to be checked. So I had an ultrasound which was inconclusive and she sent me to Dr. Borrison for a biopsy. I liked Dr. Borrison right away, she is everything you want your doctor to be, confident, capable, interested and knowledgable. The biopsy went fine but due to my not having children and my old cervix it wasn't easy to get into my uterus and there wasn't much tissue to be gotten. The tissue went to the lab and again the results were inconclusive. So a D&C was scheduled at The Los Gatos Surgical Center, right next door to Dr. Borrison's office, I was well taken care of and the D&C went fine. Unfortunately they found some pre-cancerous cells in the uterine lining. Dr. Borrison said at our next visit we needed to remove the uterus before the end of the year (this was in October) and while we were in there we should remove the ovaries and fallopian tubes as well since they weren't doing anything for me at this point and could cause problems later. She was kind, sympathetic but very firm. This needed to happen, no putting it off. So I was scheduled for surgery on Nov. 11 at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose, CA where I really felt I was well taken care of. One thing I especially liked is in the operating room all the nurses, the anesthesiologist and my doctor were all women! I had a Da Vinci robotic hysterectomy which I can't recommend highly enough to anyone who needs a hysterectomy. I was out of surgery around noon, they had me standing on my own that evening, with no dizzyness or instability at all, then walking the next morning and I was walking normally with very little pain. Really I had very little pain thoughout this whole process, never above a 4 on the 1-10 scale (10 is high) and mostly 2-3. I went home at noon the 2nd day, just stayed overnight, and was in the recliner at home for a couple of days sleeping and resting. But I could get up, go to the bathroom, sit at the computer, walk outside with minimal discomfort. I just tired quickly and felt a bit weak, couldn't walk very far without resting. I stopped the pain medications after a week, and after two weeks felt mostly recovered and was back at work (desk job), just didn't quite have the energy I'd had before, but after about 4 weeks my energy level was back to normal too. Now it's been 6 weeks, I just had my final post-operative visit with Dr. Borrison and everything is fine. I am grateful to Dr. Borrison for her competent care of me, she was consistently focused on me, she listened to my questions, responded perfectly to my apprehensions, overall the nicest, best doctor I've ever seen. read more

I have been seeing Dr Borrison for 6 years for only GYN aspect (no birth by her because I've got that done before I moved to CA). She is awesome! She is personable, answers questions pleasantly and appropriately. She is sharp and professional. Her office staff is also always very helpful, never messed up bills or appointments. I'm in healthcare myself and if anyone complains how short the appointment is I can only tell you efficiency is crucial (and life saving sometimes) in this business. As long as the experience is pleasant and I have my questions answered (which Dr Borrison has always achieved), short and sweet is perfect! read more

The down hill slide continues. I called to make an appointment and they wanted to see me in 8 weeks. I don't think my battler infection can wait. A couple of months ago, I was talking about Los Olivos to one of my girlfriends. She had had her babies with doctors who where in practice there. She also agreed that there was a downward slide of care and service. No wonder the practice is shrinking, I thought the shrink was all about insurance and what the insurance would pay and reimburse.. But as of yesterday, I am going to another doctor. My girlfriend has gone to a different doctor. VERY BAD SERVICE AND VERY BAD ACCESS read more

My experience with Dr. Borrison was limited to an annual exam and I had blood drawn, as well as a recommendation to get a booster I hadn't had in a number of years. She was very professional and knowledgeable and made me feel at ease. Be advised, however, that the lab that I was directed to next door for the booster shot DOES NOT TAKE INSURANCE. Had I known this, I would have gone somewhere else for the booster, which you can get anywhere including Walgreens! Also, the lab they used for their blood work happened to be out-of-network for me and I had to pay $153 to my insurer. It turns out that I could have asked them to use a different in-network lab. I would recommend that anyone seeing this doctor (and really every doctor) that you ASK QUESTIONS UP-FRONT regarding their insurance practices. You just never know these days. read more

I have been going to Kristine, yes, Kristine, for 13 years. She is not an arrogant woman/doctor. I have always had a positive experience. Yes, the first visit, you meet with her in her office for a professional interview about your health, female parts history and mental eval. I think that is so much more professional than meeting a doctor for the first time naked, and/or spread eagle on the table. She is warm, listens and quick with the business of a pap. I like that. We are chatting during the procedure and I never feel a thing. I have had 3 children and gone through menapause with probably 6 doctors in 4 states over the years and she's the best. She is in and out of the room when there are no concerns, but will stay with you and talk if there are. After my first baby girl borned with C-section, I got pregnant a year later with my second baby. This time I planned to deliver naturally therefore, I searched for many many OB who can and willing to deliver the baby naturally. I searched about 10 doctors and no one wanted to try. All they recommended was another C-section. Anyway, when I called onto Dr. Borrison's office, the nurse so positively said that Dr. Borrison will and try to deliver naturally. I was so happy and picked Dr. Borrison as my OBGYN for my second baby. I made the first appointment to see her and She was willing to try to deliver naturally......I stayed with Dr. Borrison until the last appointment. My baby boy supposed to be delivered in mid-August, and guess what she told me 2 weeks before my delivered date...? She said she will be on "vacation that week" and won't be able to deliver baby naturally and of course I can not wait for her to return from vacation since I don't know when the baby is coming. It was too late. She also said that if she's on vacation and I give birth, other doctors would give me a C-section anyway....so that gave me NO CHOICE is to go ahead with C-section. I thought a C-section with her probably less worry because she knows all along my records....other than other doctors. Anyway, I did schedule and had a C-section with Dr. Borrison. I hate it because all along, she never tell me that she had her vacation planned otherwise, I would change doctors if you know what I meant....Make sure this will not happen to you if you choose her as your OBGYN! read more
