I've known Dr. Kilkenny for 30 years. She delivered one of my babies and continued to be my gyn after I was done having babies. She is, by far, the best ob-gyn I've ever known. I underwent a standard surgery with a very low damage rate. Dr. Mary Kilkenny said she is good at it and she has been doing it for more than 20 years. BUT, she caused horrible DAMAGES during the surgery. It took more than 10 months, 5 procedures, 1 surgery and a 6 figures medical bill ($X00,000), just to TRY TO FIX the damages she caused (this doesn't include the cost of her initial surgery). The doctor who repaired the initial surgery said he cannot be sure it was successful and I need to be monitored for AT LEAST a few years, before we can know. After the surgery, within a few days I developed a fever and intense abdominal pain and was hospitalized. I stayed in the hospital for almost a week and she couldn't find out the problem. I was discharged after the fever was gone. A week or so later, new symptoms appeared and I was at hospital again, and found out she caused horrible damages. a) During the surgery she damaged one organ and even tried to fix the problem herself, despite it not being her specialty. b) In order to save another one of my organs, I needed an immediate procedure. I had to repeat this procedure 4 more times before I could get the corrective surgery and a total of 3 specialists had to be involved. Had Dr. Mary Kilkenny consulted another doctor earlier, I was told that the problem could've been identified and possible saved me from the 2nd surgery. Within 7 months of her causing the damages which were not yet fixed, she did NOT even call me to see how I was doing. Later, I called her and asked her what had happened during the surgery. During that call, she even said "I thought the problem was already solved". What kind of doctor causes damages, and just expect other doctors to clean up her mess, and does not even follow up to make sure the patient is recovered from her damages? read more

After talking to another doctor, I was told I should do a light procedure, not a surgery. I totally agree with Jenny that Dr. Kilkenny tended to push for more invasive surgery, while downplaying the risks/potential complications. After a 10 year break (my choice of finding a new dr) I am forced to have to deal with this office again while I wait for Angela Pollard to separate from this office. I called daily for a week regarding my birth control refill. Each day the girl that answers the phone takes my message and never actually makes sure my refill is requested. This is unacceptable. L: I had to leave this office. Dr. Kilkenny is very sweet but her office is run terribly, ever since Dr. Graven left. The staff never calls you back, never passes information to have the doctor call you back and messes up all the time. It's also at least an hour wait even if you are early to your appointment. I was bleeding for over a month and had to keep calling weekly to get in touch with the doctor. I finally got a call back, from the staff not the doctor, to make an appointment. Then waited for over an hour past my appointment, even though I was there 30 minutes earlier (1.5 hour wait total) before I was seen. I am new to this office. I'm 22 weeks pregnant, and showed up for my second appointment with a nurse practitioner named Robyn. I have not met Dr. Kilkenny. The primary woman at the front desk was condescending and cold both times. This time, I waited over an hour and then asked her about my appointment. She said there were two people ahead of me, so it would be a while longer. Another half hour later, I was called into a room. More than a half hour passed sitting in the exam room, so I opened the door and asked what was going on. I had been waiting over two hours. Finally, there was a girl who looked genuinely concerned that I still hadn't been seen! I don't know what happened to Robyn, but I ended up being seen by a nurse named Misty, who had no idea that she was supposed to see me. I guess she scheduled a follow up appointment for me with Dr. Kilkenny for Tuesday (today). She wrote that down on a piece of paper, but never ran the time by me. I called their office yesterday to check in about said appointment, and the rude front desk woman told me that I don't have an appointment, and that the note means that I should just call with an update on Tuesday (today). I told her that as of Monday (yesterday) my medical issue was still unresolved. She responded with silence, and then rushed me off the phone. Later in the day, I received a courtesy appointment reminder call for a Tuesday appointment! I called this morning to ask about the appointment, and was told by Jessica that there is no appointment, and I'm not on the schedule. Sheer insanity. Also of note, the girl who drew my blood never felt for my vein! She also rubbed her heavily made up eye with her gloved hand before poking me. Incompetent and unsanitary. I'm sure Dr. Kilkenny is great, but I'll never know firsthand. read more

This doctor office is going down hill. I had been with this office for about 3 years. The first 3 years was excellent! Recently, they keep canceled my appointments with Dr. Kilkenny for various reasons. You should know how hard it is to make appointment to see Dr. Kilkenny. I had to make an appointment at least 1 month ahead to be able to see her. Then, they usually called me to reschedule my appointment 1 week before the scheduled appointment. That is so messed up! Then, i had to wait another month to see her, and they canceled my appointment again. I got fed up with their cancelations and decided to move to another ob/gyn office. read more

Dr. Kilkenny is awesome! I've been with her for 15 years and she's been a miracle worker for me. I was having a hard time finding the right Hormone Replacement Therapy but she had no problem from the get go! My ailments just picked up from this point. I'm a cancer survivor which caused some heart damage requiring a triple bypass and hip replacement. She's living proof that there are Drs. That still care! She actually listens and doesn't judge! It took two months to get an appointment. Upon arriving 30 minutes early for appointment to do paperwork etc. A staff member rudely proceeded to tell me my insurance was not valid. I explained it was valid and for them to call and get it verified. After 30 minutes of waiting for the staff to figure out they were using a outdated website ( which I mentioned) I was told my insurance was fine. So now I have to wait another 30 minutes to be placed in a room. After I am in exam room and had waited an additional 30 minutes I am told by again a rude staff member Dr. Kilkenny is having to admit someone at the hospital and it could be up to an hour or more wait. Really!?!?!!! I have now wasted 2 plus hours and somehow my time is not as important as theirs. I will not be back. It's an awful shame How the office is run. read more

I did not have a good experience with Dr Kilkenny. She encouraged a procedure that turned out to be quite invasive, without taking the time to explain to me the risks and the procedure. I should've trusted my instincts, but felt rushed to make a decision on the spot. I felt that she tended to push for more invasive procedures, while downplaying the risks/ potential complications. I've since switched over to a different Obgyn, and found out that other non-invasive tests could have been performed to avoid the (unnecessary) procedure. read more

I am an endometriosis patient. I was 25 when I came into this office looking for answers for my pelvic pain. I had never been to an OBGYN before and was nervous. I should have trusted my gut after my first visit at this place. My first visit here the Dr was over an hour late. And every subsequent visit the Dr was over an hour late. The Drs are nice. They listen. Which is great if everything is okay. But when I am coming to your office multiple times a week and still don't feel like I am being listened to, something is wrong. After a few months of trying different birth controls without any real solution, I was given the go ahead for endo surgery. Sounded great. 95% chance it'll help. Super excited for the surgery. Fast forward to the week after my surgery. Still in pain. I'm at the dr office multiple times a week for the pain. The surgery was unsuccessful as the doctor could still feel the endo from a pelvic exam. So apologies, no sympathy. I was told it was time to go on Lupron. I told the dr no because of it's terrible side effects. She basically told me she can't do anything else to help me. I found a new doctor in LG- Los Olivos Womens Medical Group for anyone who needs a new obgyn. She is great. We tried more birth control options to stop the pain. She allowed me to call her, made extra time for me, and eventually referred me to an ENDO SPECIALIST. I didn't even know this was a thing until my new doctor. I just had my second surgery. They told me the endo was all over and actually removed my appendix because it was covered in nodes. This place isn't worth the money. I wasted thousands of dollars on a surgery that didn't work, was not given info to help me find a dr who could help me, felt helpless, not heard, and wasted my time at this place. read more

Dr. Totman and Dr. Graven may be great doctors, however: (1) In 4 years, never was able to see either of them personally, even though I had scheduled appointments specifically with the doctors - there was always some schedule snafu, and I was seen by a physician's assistant. (2) Front office staff is poor. Poor customer skills, abrupt, and every time, messed up my insurance claims. I moved on to another OBGYN office - it's a shame how many good doctors offices are ruined by front office operations. read more

A couple irritations... *I was very disappointed with Barbara Jordan's attitude towards her patients. Throughout the entire visit, I felt as if she was irritated by my presence. She didn't walk me through anything she was doing (I had multiple reasons for a visit); the visit ended abruptly, as she never explained herself. *Test results took 2 weeks longer than what they originally told me, and I had to call their office several times for a follow-up. *They called in my birth control prescription to the WRONG Walgreens. When I had a new prescription called in, I realized they had given the wrong birth date (which caused a delay, since the pharmacist was in no rush to fill a birth control prescription for someone born in 2000...). However, their front staff is friendly, and they've been helpful with calls regarding billing. read more

I absolutely adore Dr Kilkenny! She is an amazing women who always had kind words and made me feel so comfortable while being pregnant. She is informative, knowledgeable and went the extra mile to answer all my questions and concerns. I saw her throughout my entire pregnancy and I just delivered my healthy baby girl on June 17, 2017. Her staff Urie and Jessica are wonderful as well, Urie always had a big smile every time I came into the office and Jessica handled all my PFL paperwork. I have been annoyed on many visits by long waits and/or unattended children in the waiting room, but the quality of care I have received once I get in to see Barbara or Dr. Kilkenny is exceptional. First, Dr. Kilkenny diagnosed my hypothyroidism when I just thought it was standard new-mom-working-full-time exhaustion (~4 yrs ago). Then, last April, I noticed a lump in my breast and they fit me in the day after I called. I saw Barbara. She didn't like how the lump felt and set up an appointment for a mammogram and ultrasound the next day. The ladies @ the mammogram place knew it was cancer right away (they wouldn't say so, but the body language was pretty clear) and tried to get me to stay for a biopsy. I refused, because I had to get back to work. A couple hours later, Barbara called me on my cell and said they didn't like what they saw and wanted me to get in to see the surgeon they prefer, Dr. Traina, ASAP and in fact had checked her availability, she had a cancellation the next day that I could snap up, could I make it? I said I didn't think so, work was crazy and she had some strong words to say about that. Needless to say, I went to see the surgeon the next day and THANK GOODNESS I did! She removed the lump 5 days later and it was a very aggressive cancer that already showed signs of spreading. I can honestly say that Barbara may very well have saved my life. I am now done with treatment and have an 85% chance of living at least another 10 years. I'd like at least 15, so that I can raise my younger child into adulthood, but I'll take whatever I can get. Had what I thought was a good experience turn into a bad one with this office. My regular obg was on leave and I found out I was pregnant. When I called my obs office they referred me here for the time being. I called and made and appt. and the front office said everything was good to go. Then during the appt the front desk person came in and apologized saying they didn't realize my insurance group was not covered (even though my insurance is). The doctor I was in the room with said don't worry we won't charge you for this appt and she answered a few questions and we left and I made an appt somewhere else. Now 6 months later I receive a bill for this appt. I called and spoke to their billing department who told me they don't see a note about no charge and the person who saw me didn't have the authority to tell me that!!! I was shocked. I said we didn't even have a full exam appt and they said there's nothing they're going to do I have to pay. Such unprofessional bad business. read more

The best experience I ever had with a doctor. Mary Totman is exceptional! She went out of her way to help me. She is very caring and knowledgeable. The staff is professional and helpful as well. Even the office decor impressed me. It has a really cute style which is comforting. Its not like the cold empty rooms I've been to before. They use fresh clean sheets for the patients not those plastic paper things. She is very busy though. I tried to refer a friend and she told me Dr. Totman is only taking new patients that are expecting. So to all you future mamas she's your woman! read more

First Appointment she sat across the room and talked and would not let me interrupt when I tried 3 times to tell her I could not hear her as she spoke so softly and quickly. Her response to me trying to tell this was to raise her finger act like I was an out of order school girl, and she as one of her assistants called - as if she was Mary Poppins. Was a bit peeved when I left there thinking I needed to find someone else. I have been with Dr. Kilkenny for 20 years. She helped me conceive my 2 kids. I got an OBGYN and a fertility specialist all in one. That was 20 years ago. She also diagnosed me with endometriosis, when no other doctors believed anything was wrong with me. Here is a tip if you have been referred to Dr. Kilkenny (Totman). She is hard to get an appointment with. If you are not pregnant, it's a 2-3 month wait. You may even get rescheduled. She is rarely on time - and this is not because of her or her scheduling - it's because there are pregnant women who may need extra attention (miscarriage, etc) or it may be because someone is late and the rest of us have to suffer. So if you have patience and know up front that this is what you'll go through - then you'll end up with a wonderful doctor. But if you want to go somewhere else, I'm fine with that because that means my wait is just a bit more shorter. :) read more

I was nervous to try out a new doctor because I have had bad experiences in the past with slow service, unreliability, a flakiness. The moment I walked into the Women's Center I was already put at ease. The waiting room was well decorated, warm and inviting. The staff was very tentative and welcoming. They helped me right away and I only had to wait for Dr. Kilkenny for about 10 minutes after I changed into the gown. At my previous doctor, I once had to sit on the table for 45 minutes to an hour. I was so angry! When Dr. Kilkenny entered the room, I was immediately put at ease by her sweet demeanor and calming voice. She answered all the questions that I had and made me feel very comfortable. She is extremely knowledgable. I would highly recommend her if you live in the Campbell area. I believe she is only in the office three days a week, so make sure to book your appt in advance! The parking is easy as well and the office is located right next to downtown Campbell. read more

Dr. Kilkenny is a great doctor. Patient, friendly, very knowledgeable, and seriously cares about you. She has been great through out my pregnancy so far and I am now 32 weeks pregnant. She is a great OB. Her front desk staff and her medical assistants are so friendly and helpful as well. Every time I call - my questions are answered promptly and my calls are returned promptly as well. She is sometimes late or has to cancel the appt last min - but that's because she's delivery babies and she may have a patient in labor. This is something I think all of us should be understanding about because it could also happen that YOU are the one in labor and she needs to immediately rush to attend you. read more

I delivered my daughter in October of 2012 at El Camino Los Gatos and had a great experience with Dr. Kilkenny and also with the nurse practitioner Barbara Jordan... they are both very no-nonsense with straight forward care that never made me anxious or worried about my health or the babies health. I had a pretty textbook pregnancy with no major scares. I feel the need to share one story.. My husband and I went for one of those non-doctor 3D ultrasounds because all our friends told us we should... we sat through the quick scan and both of us could not shake a HUGE shadow that was being cast underneath our daughters nose. It really appeared to look like a cleft lip and a lot of our friends and family agreed. I felt so silly for being worried and hated having to tell Dr. Kilkenny we had gone to that place but she listened to my concerns, looked at the photos, told me she wasn't worried but that she understand why I was worried and that she would never ignore a mothers intuition. She scheduled me for an additional scan right away and everything came back completely normal. She was so kind and didn't dismiss my worries at all which was much appreciated. She has such a lovely soft kind way about her that made me feel so comfortable during delivery. I highly recommend her and will most definitely continue with her when it's time for baby #2. read more

Dr. Kilkenny moved up my wife's scheduled C-section from one week early to two weeks early to suit her own vacation, and as a result my wife fought horrible postpartum depression (an increased risk if too premature). If only she were willing to let a different doctor earn that payday, we would have been saved months of stress and missed work. She kept extending my wife's disability and seemed almost apologetic in approach, but of course never admitted her greedy mistake for fear of liability. I can't say enough amazing things about Dr. Kilkenny. I had a high risk pregnancy and she was super attentive and sweet. I ALWAYS saw her for my appointments and never was called on to cancel. She remembered me after my first visit and it made me feel important. When I started having issues at 33 weeks she was loving, supportive, and concerned. She came and saw me in the hospital multiple times. When it came time to deliver she stopped in before the delivery and was very calming (I was terrified). She walked me through everything and made me feel comfortable and relaxed. I seriously wouldn't have wanted to have anyone else in that room with me. She's truly amazing. This office charges a $30.00 fee if an appt. is missed the first time. They do not work with their patients. The office staff is extremely RUDE as well as the billing staff. (VICKY). I was asked at the time if I wanted a reminder via call or email when I made the appt 3 months ago, I said that would be great, needless to say I did not get one and I was told it's NOT THEIR RESPONSIBILITY to do so. Vicky said she would not wave it as a courtesy so I said cancel my future appointments I would find a new Dr. Vicky said that was fine.... hmmmm NICE guess they are overflowing with patients that they are fine with losing them. I strongly suggest having Dr. Mary Kilkenny as your Doctor! this office and all of the providers are very accommodating and understanding and answer all of your questions thoroughly. My ultra sound appointments were very exciting and you can hear Dr. Kilkenny in the background of our phone video more excited about our baby movements than us parents. All of the hospitals and Insurance agents highly recommends Dr. Kilkenny. My birthing process with my last child (which was my 3rd pregnancy) was the most pleasant, comfortable experience. I had been seeing Dr. Graven for many years, but when she retired I started seeing physician assistants (Robin was very good), but after 2-3 years of PA appointments, I wanted to meet with a doctor. I had to schedule a few months in advance, but it was worth the wait. Dr. Kilkenny is super compassionate and knowledgable. She got me back on track with some health monitoring procedures (bone density, mammogram, etc.) and gave me a painless pap smear, yay! I recently just gave birth to my daughter and Dr. Kilkenny was there for me and my husband throughout the entire pregnancy (she helped us get pregnant, was my OB, and then delivered our beautiful daughter). As a first time mom I was very, very nervous throughout my entire pregnancy. But, Dr. Kilkenny is such a nice and calm doctor, every time I had an appointment with her all of my fears seemed to melt away. My entire pregnancy and birth experience was great!
