Dr. Fierro is fantastic! We want to switch back to PPO insurance just to see him again. I met him, unfortunately, at the ER at Good Samaritan when I had an ovarian torsion surgery (the worst pain of my life). He also took my history at the ER and realized my endometriosis had come back. He removed both the ovary that had died and could not be saved and the lesions of endometriosis with his friendly team. My fiance and I saw him at the office for a follow-up. Truly amazing doctor. First off - let me just put it out there . I was terrified about the idea of being pregnant. Second - Never thought I would have a male doctor. That said - When I found out I was pregnant, my friend recommended Dr.Fierro. He was her doctor and a referral from her sister in law. She kept raving about him and how he wasn't just like any doctor in a big hospital like Kaiser, etc. So we decided to meet him and go from there . Our first meeting was a surprise to me . We sat down in his office and Dr.Fierro just got to know us. Gave us a little bit of his background, talked about his family, and asked us about our life. He's very family oriented which is great. I loved that. He mentioned it was a private practice so that allowed him to get to know his patients on a personal level and I agree 100%. We were very comfortable and he was very thorough. Every appointment was helpful and he made sure to answer any questions we had . When the time was closer - he went through all the options on delivery. Very respectful of your decision and not biased in any way. Honestly, I wouldn't have any other doctor . I have been going to Dr. Fierro for a year and a half now and I don't have enough nice things to say about how he treats his patients. I found him when my husband and I decided to try for a baby. He was very thorough with blood work and such and when I got pregnant I felt confident in the amount of appointments I received. He also has a great concierge program you can pay for which was extremely helpful as a first time parent. I was a referral from a friend and now I refer everyone to him. The staff is also amazing and it's nice to walk into a place and people personally greet you and ask about your baby. I trust all the staff with appointments if I can't get in with Dr. Fierro. When I first started going to Dr Fierro I was a fan, but he is unqualified to treat anything other than typical obgyn work. I went to him for years with chronic pelvic pain which I diagnosed myself with endometriosis and he told me he was capable of performing the surgery. I had 2 surgeries for endometriosis and both complicated my condition and made it seriously worse. Ablation surgery is all he knows how to do and is NOT a viable treatment for endometriosis. After my surgery I couldn't pee without sobbing & Dr. Fierro just saw me for a second and told me it was a UTI (it wasn't). He also put me on Lupron without making it clear that it is a chemotherapy and it doesn't statistically impact endo either. Dr. Fierro could never get over his ego enough to recommend me to a specialist so I had to leave his practice and find one myself & they have done a way better job treating me & listening to me. If you want regular obgyn work, he's fine. If you need anything more than that, his ego will get in the way of your treatment. Don't come to this place for endometriosis. read more

Beware of the fake 5 star reviews! If you are looking for Dr. Contro, he is gone. I originally came here for him but he's on "sabbatical" until 2019 so I was told. I was looking for a fertility specialist and settled for Fierro. I was ignorant for settling because he is NOT Board Certified Or a Reproductive Endocrinologist. This has been a nightmare experience from day one. I'll start from the beginning. Be aware: on your first consultation visit which I thought would just be a Q&A conversation, he does a full body examination inside and out. He also spent an usually long time examining my breasts. I was not expecting this and they did not give me a heads up before my appointment. Also, he hugs you after a pelvic exam while you sit half naked on the table. I'm not a hugger and it made me feel uncomfortable. Why couldn't he wait to hug me after my clothes were back on?? And why did he hug me after the nurse left the room?? The waiting area is small and the music they play is too loud creating stress. They don't offer you any water and there is no water to drink while you wait. They ask you to pee in a tiny Dixie cups that dentist use to have you rinse. So expect to pee all over your hand when they ask for urine. This shows how cheap they are as I read in other reviews. I got better urine cups from planned Parenthood back in the day. -another example of how cheap they are - they ship your blood samples back east and charge you $60+ for the Fed ex shipping of the materials. On top of that I had to wait over a month to get the results back which was a waste of my fertility time. They have unethical billing practices. My insurance covers most of my treatments and they violated their contract with my insurance company by charging me the full amount of a service I received. It took 15 weeks for them to pay me back and it was short $50. They do not have their operating hours on display anywhere. They take a two hour lunch and it's at an unusual time. I arrived on time for an appointment and the office was unlocked but was totally dark. I had no idea where anyone was as it was two hours past the normal lunch hour. I searched the back offices for someone and when I found someone she had an attitude like how dare I go back there. I found myself micromanaging the administration as they had forgotten time sensitive tasks in regards to my medication. It's been really stressful for me to do this. They are not reliable! You have to double check everything they are getting paid to do. Avoid the tall medical assistant. She was assigned to teach me how to inject myself and she told me how to do it wrong. In fact, everything she told me during this appointment was wrong. Due to the wrong information that she gave and i trusted I suffered much pain. After a Google search I learned the correct way to inject myself. I had concerns about risks of cancer as she told me the medication is NOT FDA approved. Her response was confrontational: "You take vitamins and those are not FDA approved. How do you know those don't cause cancer"? She speaks loudly, fast and you're in a tiny room with her. After a quick Google search I found the medication IS approved by the FDA. I brought all my concerns about her to Fierro and he just said he didn't know why she said that and was dismissive and changed the subject. Fierro rushed through his appointments with me and speaks fast. When I first met him and his staff I thought they were all on some form of speed. All my life my doctor's have been slow and methodical, not this office. Since he speaks so fast I've asked him to write down my next steps but he wrote so fast I couldn't read his writing. So stressful!! They call you 5-6 days before your appointments to remind you of your appointments. Shouldn't be 24-48 hours before your appointment??This was an annoyance. I asked for a copy of my file and they charged me $30! I argued Kinko's only charges 20 cents a page, where is the $30 coming from?? This was the last straw for me. They don't do anything complimentary for their customers. The office is decorated with "thank you" shadow boxes of families and their babies. At first I was impressed but when I had to wait a long time for my appointments I noticed the pictures with handwritten notes all had the same penmanship. These picture boxes were made by staff and not by customers. Totally misleading. I found a board certified RE infertility doctor to help me and after sharing my experience with this new doctor he informed me that Fierro's prescriptions and practices are outdated and some of his methods have been medically proven not to work. If he were board certified he would be up to date on the latest medical advances. 2 months after quitting Fierro and cleansing my body of all the toxic hormones he prescribed, I'm pregnant! Outstanding doctor. I left another practice in the LG area to come here, as this office came highly recommended to me by a friend. I'm so glad I made this decision. Dr. Fierro is really thorough and patient, offers a lot of support for expectant mothers, has great bedside manner -- even does Q&A dinners (pre COVID) which both my husband and I found super helpful. Dr. Fierro did extremely thorough work to examine my medical history and body chemistry to get my husband and I on the right path to getting pregnant. No other practice I had been to had done such thorough blood work nor took the time to go over it with me in great detail and answer every little question along the way. Everyone from the nurses to reception are extremely accommodating and friendly. Danielle even went above and beyond and took a 3-way call to help me sort out an insurance claim. Talk about service! Dr Fierro delivered our baby via c-section on 12/22/2021 due to breech presentation. It was supposed to be a scheduled c-section at noon; however my water broke the day before at 11pm. My husband and I had to ran to ER. Dr. Fierro ended up delivering my baby at 5am on 12/22. His excellency was not affected by the late night emergency slightly - the surgery went really well. I was super nervous and couldn't stop shaking the whole time but before I even know it, my baby girl is out to the world and next to me! Dr. Fierro then took his time and sewed me back nicely. My incision is extremely low and healed well. No complication at all. I was able to pass gas and stand within 24 hours. On the second day, I felt much better and was able to walk around in the room. I was discharged from the hospital on 12/24. A week later I feel myself almost returned back to normal. My belly has shrunk back 80%! Recovery is going well and all these has to thank to Dr. Fierro's outstanding skills. On top of that, he has been attentive and patient throughout my whole pregnancy. I left Los Olivos (a practice I'd been with for 15 years) down the street to seek out help with infertility & found Dr. Fierro. Having experienced the Walmart that Stanford has become- to the Mom & Pop shop that Dr. Fierro is- all I can say is Dr. Fierro is QUALITY. Long story short- I have 2 beautiful twin babies as a result of HIS efforts & a year of trial and error. The man had to leave his own family on Christmas Eve to help us conceive our babies-But it worked! And throughout that super difficult year-he never stopped being optimistic and hopeful for us- always positive and reassuring. Aside from the in office stuff- he was an incredible surgeon. I had such an awful first c-section and with the twins everything went amazing. He listened to all my fears and made sure everything went smoothly. He was there everyday in the hospital checking on me and was available 24-7 if I needed to reach him personally. I healed without any complications (And my scar is like nothing!) And referencing the previous review about him giving hugs?! Yes! He absolutely does! And he high fives my 4 year old & hugs my husband too. I hate that we live in a time where everything is creepy- even just your physician making non medical contact to show he cares. I'm not big on Yelping but felt strongly about this particular experience. Based on me and my wife's experience with Dr. Fierro I have concluded that he is an individual that should not be practicing medicine. We sought help from Mark for infertility issues. After putting us through extensive blood tests, Mark gave a false diagnosis to my wife. He told us that she had tested positive for a genetic disorder. As a result he prescribed daily injections of medication into my wife's stomach. This is something we suffered through for months as my wife is terrified of needles and I had to administer the medication to her. After several months of suffering through this and not getting pregnant we decided to get a second opinion at Stanford. We brought our medical records from Fierro to the Stanford Dr., as he combed through our records he frowned and asked why we were doing the injections. We told him my wife tested positive for a disorder that required it to get pregnant. The new Dr. said he did not see evidence of that in the records and ordered re-testing. We tested negative for the genetic disorder! The disorder that Fierro said my wife had does not come or go and you either have it or not, it is not curable if you have it. Stanford Dr. said we tested negative for everything. My wife had agonized over this false diagnosis for almost a year, blaming herself for the infertility and for a previous MC. We looked over the blood work that Fierro was reading in front of us and the numbers indicate that my wife in fact does not have the disorder he claimed she had. Mark Fierro either 1. Lied to our faces to make money off us 2. Does not know how to read/interpret test results. 3. Dr. Fierro is hands down the BEST doctor I've ever had. The quality of medical care I received from him is what ever doctor should strive for. He answered every single question we had during my pregnancy and never once made us feel as though we were bothering him or taking up too much time. When it came time for the big day I was very nervous but the moment I saw Dr. Fierro I felt calm and reassured that I was in good hands. I can't fully express how lucky I feel to have met Dr. Fierro. Not only was I unable to get pregnant for over 3 years on my own, I suffered from undiagnosed PCOS and extreme weight gain. My baby is almost 7 months, so this review is very long overdue!! I came to Dr. Fierro after having a horrible experience with a doctor at PAMF and I am so glad I switched doctors well into my second trimester. I was so anxious coming in, because I thought it was "too late" to switch doctors. But it is never too late to be your own advocate! Dr. Fierro is hands down the best doctor I have ever meet. When I first met him, you could tell he loved what he did and he loved his family. He was a kind soul, and not rushing you out the door. If I could see him for everything, I would. Update a year later and still love Dr. Fierro! (Just a lag in writing this chasing a 11 month old around). Dr. Fierro is attentive, and a truly excellent and thoughtful physician. Let me preface this- with my husband and I are both in the medical field and are both in high stress, fast paced critical fields. ;) When it came time to deliver, I was of course scared, nervous and excited. Long story short turns out my delivery was less than smooth at NO fault of his. (The anesthesiologist was the issue) Dr. Fierro basically saved my life (dramatic but true) and prevented the anesthesiologist from making a bad call and brought our baby into this world safely, and as smooth as he could. To this day- I still thank God he was my Dr.. And I think that speaks volumes from us both being in the field and having first hand knowledge of what it takes to be a good physician. Bottom line: we love Dr. Fierro. He's not a factory like the big groups, he's an independent practice and thinker, he listens, he's thoughtful and is extremely well educated. We've delivered 2 of our 3 kids with Dr. Fierro in 2018 and 2020. Our first child we delivered under the care of a highly skilled OB (Dr. Jason Rothbart based in LA at Cedars-Sinai) which was very positive. After moving to this area, we are extremely grateful to have found Dr. Fierro based on recommendations from Good Samaritan hospital staff. We've repeatedly heard high praise for Dr. Fierro! Our experience was also very positive! Not only did he deliver both 8lb 9oz babies with minimal/no vaginal tearing, he was very competent in his dealings with hospital staff. For one delivery, the nurse we received was fairly unwilling to allow us to receive an epidural during an overnight induction (Dr. Fierro was very open to natural delivery and this was because we were 2 weeks overdue). However, I was very surprised to see how her entire attitude changed once she spoke on the phone with Dr. Fierro. I could tell she was a bit difficult that night, but I am so thankful that Dr. Fierro's interpersonal skills made up for the difference and difficulty with her was avoided. I also appreciated the way he gently induced our 3rd child into labor. We feel so blessed by Dr. Fierro's sacrificial service to so many women and mothers and that he chooses to devote his energy and immense talent and skill in caring for women and families. Dr. Fierro seems genuinely humble and sincerely looks out for the interests of his patients without pushing his own agenda or leaving out explanations. Despite our requests or questions, I've never seen him grow irritable no matter what type of day he's having! He deserves great praise and thanks! To top it off, Dr. Fierro seems to love his wife and kids. It's difficult to have a successful career while balancing family and he really seems devoted to both. I'm from LA and used to the Beverly Hills Doctors with more of a concierge service than the big group doctor offices I've found here in Silicon Valley. Dr Fierro has exceeded my expectations beyond and beyond. Without even knowing me he treated me like a loyal patient- squeezing me in when I had an urgent situation, taking the time to introduce himself and get to know me, calling me himself with test results, answering my calls at 10 PM, telling me to come in before office hours so he can see me again... all in one day!! If your looking for a doctor that goes above and beyond and truly cares about his patients look no further. I left Los Olivios women's medical group after being tired of treated like a number. We suffered a miscarriage at 14 weeks and my doctor at the time couldn't care less. I knew I had to find better care. At my first appointment with Dr. Fierro he took his time to sit down with me to not only introduce himself but get to know me and my medical history . At this time I was 5 weeks pregnant so I was being closely monitored by doing weekly blood test. It was that Saturday I unfortunately was suffering my second miscarriage I called Dr.Fierro in complete panic and heartbreak he answered right away and made sure to get me in right away. I remember after he had confirmed my loss feeling so hopeless and thinking there's no way I'll be able to have another baby. Dr. Fierro looked at me and assured me that he's confident in what he does and told me that we will have a happy moment one day so we proceeded to do all the testing that we could and figure out what was causing my miscarriages. He found not just one but four things that were manageable requiring supplements, hormones, and blood thinner shots. His tactic was to be ahead of the game that way when I did become pregnant again my body was ready. We had a plan which took the fear of loss of control out for me. Thankfully it was not long I became pregnant and we watched everything closely with 2xs a week blood test. Things were looking good.. then at 14 weeks on another Saturday in the peak of a global pandemic where emergency rooms were filled and the last place you wanted to be I started to hemmirage I called Dr.Fierro who left his family at dinner to get me in his office to do an ultrasound. We discovered I had placenta previa but thankfully the baby was fine. I'm well aware that if I was with any other doctor I would have been sitting in an emergency room. I could not be more grateful to have found a doctor that is compassionate, detail oriented and cares for you like you are his family. Not to mention his entire office and nurse staff follows in his footsteps and are exceptional and friendly. In all my appointments I've never waited longer than 5 minutes they are efficient. When it came time for delivery Dr. Fierro was there every step of the way, made my husband and I feel relaxed and I had the most beautiful, calm birth experience . Words cannot fully express how much of a gem Dr. Fiero is! Dr. Fiero delivered our second son at Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Gatos. It was a very eventful delivery! I had severe postpartum hemorrhaging, but did not realize how bad the situation was during it all because Dr. Fiero was so cool, calm, and collected. I was points away from a blood transfusion. Dr. Fiero efficiently stopped major blood loss and repaired me as if there were never any complications. My recovery was actually a lot smoother this time around than when I had my first son with a different doctor at a different location, and with minor complications. Dr. Fiero saved my life and I will forever be grateful. Leading up to this eventful delivery, Dr. Fiero was our advocate throughout the entire pregnancy. He is exceptional at explaining all options available and guiding you towards decisions that work best for Mama and baby pre, during, and post pregnancy. Already having one son and being parents that Google everything, Dr. Fiero was always patient with our questions and concerns. He never over dramatized or dismissed any of our questions, he was always even keeled yet very supportive. We always left visits with Dr. Fiero feeling confident in mine and the baby's health, and feeling like we gained more knowledge about questions or issues we raised. Towards the end of my pregnancy, I was extremely anxious to just get the baby out! Dr. Fiero truly did a wonderful job balancing what I was requesting vs. what was medically sound for both me and baby without making me feel like I couldn't have a say. Dr. Fiero truly went above and beyond at each visit to ensure he understood my needs and wants for my pregnancy and birth. Dr. Fiero also did an excellent job at explaining every procedure or thought process he had in laymen's terms so that we could follow along, ask appropriate questions, and make appropriate decisions as a team - mom, dad, and doctor. I am now three months post birth and feeling as great as ever! Dr. Fiero and office team have been exceptional at their follow up on my health. Dr. Fiero is very aware of all that comes post birth aside from the physical recovery, so I appreciated that he took extra time to ask me during our visits if I was feeling okay emotionally, if I was handling the transition from 1 to 2 kids okay, if my husband and I were doing well, etc. I really love that Dr. Fiero is not only a clinical pro, but his genuine concern for my overall health makes him a class act! I also had to file an extension on state disability, Dr. Fiero and his office team took care of everything so I didn't have to add that stress to my plate! Dr. Fiero is the first male OBGYN I have seen and I was nervous at first because I did not think a man could fully relate to women's health. I was so wrong! If anything, I think Dr. Fiero is extra empathetic and appreciative of what women go through to get pregnant, be pregnant, delivery, and then recuperate. Though Dr. Fiero is an OBGYN, he can actually also be listed as a Primary Care Physician so you can bet I will be seeing Dr. Fiero for everything from now on! Dr. Fiero is simply amazing. As someone who has pre existing anxiety and hormone issues, I considered myself a bit of a "challenging" patient with how nervous I was throughout pregnancy, birth and post birth. But, Dr. Fierro somehow magically managed to keep me sane and even calm to an extent throughout the entire process! He is extremely patient with taking the time to explain what is going on and never was too busy to help me with any issue that came up. He also is an amazing surgeon and my recovery for my c section has been so much better than I pictured! To put things into perspective, I went on a walk around the block only 5 days out of surgery. I also tracked my steps and realized I walked over a mile! I truly don't know how I would have gotten through pregnancy and birth without him! Be very cautious -- unethical practice. Cares about money more than patients' safety. Prescribed unnecessary megadose supplements that could cause autism. I started seeing Dr Fierro in the middle of 2018. Because I had miscarriage once, he prescribed me a bunch of blood work and genetic tests, some of which are not covered by insurance. It turned out I have a genetic mutation called MTHFR C 677T (TT), which is thought to cause impairment of folic acid metabolism. He said I needed to take another form of folate which is easier to absorb. He prescribed me a prenatal (Nestab One) and a supplement called EB-n3, both of which contain such folate. My husband had some concern on EB-n3, because it's made by a very small company and there is very little information about them online. Due to the trust for Dr Fierro, I chose to follow his instructions. He delivered my first baby in Aug 2019, and everything seemed fine, except for a few complaints which I will mention later. In 2020, I got pregnant again. I thought about switching OB. Because of the pandemic and the stress of taking care of my baby, I didn't want to spend time on finding a new OB. I was still seen by Dr Fierro. Because I previously had some concern about EB-n3, I expressed my concern to Dr Fierro, and he prescribed me MetaNX, (the same thing as EB-n3， just a different brand). I asked him "since Nestab One (the prenatal vitamin) already got the right form of folate, is MetaNX really necessary?". Without thinking he told me "it's not enough". Out of the trust for him, I started to take MetaNX. After 3 months, my first boy started to show early signs of autism (no eye contact, not responding to his name, doesn't know mommy and daddy, indulging in his own play). We were very worried. I cried a lot, even though I'm bearing my second baby. I can't help thinking why my baby has autism. I stumbled upon a research (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5796848/) that shows moms with high levels of folate and VB12 during pregnancy had 13x more chances to give birth to austic babies. I checked the labels of MetaNX and EB-n3. It shocked me that they are "medical food" with megadose (~10x the recommended value by CDC) of folate, VB6 and VB12. They are intended for treating diabetic patients, not for pregnant women. WE FELT SO GUILTY, AS I HAVE BEEN TOXICATING MY FIRST BABY THROUGHOUT MY WHOLE FIRST PREGNANCY, AND MY SECOND BABY FOR 3 MONTHS! I called Dr Fierro the next day. I asked for a justification for prescribing EB-n3 and MetaNX. His assistant quoted him "it's totally safe for pregnancy, but if you don't feel comfortable you can stop taking it". It's contrary to what he said before, that the prenatal vitamin was not enough for me, and I needed other supplements. With a glimmer of hope, I asked if they had done any blood work to monitor my folate and VB12 levels, and they said no. I requested a blood test. One day later, his medical assistant called. At first she didn't tell me the result of bloodwork. Instead she said "Dr Fierro said you can take one tablet of MetaNX instead of two per day". Only after I insisted on getting the test result, she told me that my VB12 level is 2000 (normal range is 200-950). My folate level was at the upper limit, but that was 14 hours after I took MetaNX so the peak value should be much higher. I cried again after hanging up the phone. In the next few days, my husband and I would wake up every night with the thought that we toxicated our baby, and would stay up all night. On 10/9/2020, I called Dr Fierro's clinic and told them I will no longer see him. For the first time, Dr Fierro called me, just to ask me the reason. He bombarded me with all his excuses, but couldn't explain why EB-n3 and MetaNX were necessary. When I asked "doesn't the prenatal vitamin contain the right form of folate I need?". He said "it should be, I need to check", as if he didn't know about the thing he had been prescribing. He said "if you don't feel comfortable, you can always choose not to take it." Of course I know, no one can force me to take the supplement. I took it based on my trust in him. He told me the prenatal vitamin was not enough for me. I didn't know it contained a mega dose of folate and VB12 when I took it. At the end of the phone call, he even said "I skipped my lunch to call you because I care about my patients". I felt deeply hurt because he showed no sympathy after I told him about my boy's condition. Finally, I switched to another OB. She told me MTHFR is a risk factor, but as long as I take the right form of folate, it will be fine. She checked the prenatal vitamin I was taking and told me it contained the right form of folate, so I don't need any extra supplement. I can't prove the mega dose supplement caused my son's autism. However as a mother, I can't help feeling guilty because I took something potentially toxic to my unborn baby while believing it was beneficial. read more

I met Dr. Fierro when I came with my sister to one of her Ultrasound appointments and I knew from that first meeting that I wanted him to be my doctor. I never liked getting paps, and was always uncomfortable asking questions with my past doctors until I started seeing Dr. Fierro. He is very patient and kind. He makes a point to ensure you are informed every step of the way and he genuinely cares about his patients. He always asks how my family is and how my sister is doing and nothing feels forced when he is talking to you. I've come from putting off my annual exams to not being worried or stressed about them anymore. I picked my medical insurance solely based on if his office accepted it. I will not go anywhere else. I am not planning to have any kids any time soon, but seeing the way he was with my sister and how attentive he was through her delivery, I am not the least bit concerned. I look forward to having him as my doctor through the next phases of my life. You will not be disappointed with Dr. Fierro. He is worth the wait and worth the copay. Dr Fierro is an absolutely AMAZING doctor and to add to it a wonderful person! I used to call on him because I am in the medical field and have been around many many many doctors in the bay area and I chose him to be my own personal physician. He saw my through my second pregnancy and had the perfect amount of information and comfort I needed as an expecting mom. I needed to have a c-section due to my first pregnancy and it was perfect! Dr. Contro and Dr Fierro delivered my perfect baby and my recovery was amazing. Dr Fierro also specializes in vaginal deliveries so do not shy away if you don't want to have a c-section. A lot of woman why away from male OBGYN's sometimes but I have been more comfortable with Dr Fierro than any other female OB I've had. He's kind, compassionate, extremely smart, and and amazing Doctor. I've also been continuing to go to him for my yearly routine visits, other female issues as well as anything else I need a primary doctor for. Whether I have a bad cold or when I've had muscular back pain, I've gone to Dr. Fierro for it all! So far I haven't needed to see another specialist for anything as he's really helped take care of me for anything thats come up. I am very grateful that I found Dr. Fierro to deliver my 2nd child! I had my first C section (breech) in Seattle area, and did not recover very well. I had a huge keloid scar, and it was itchy all the time. When I found out that I was pregnant this time, I was determined to find the best ob doctor who can perform high-quality C section surgery. I visited two other ob doctors in Los Gatos area, and did not like them how they responded to my concerns regarding C section. By the time I found Dr. Fierro, I was already 19 week pregnant. The first time my husband and I visited Dr. Fierro's office, he was able to answer all my questions and concerns regarding C section. He is also the most warming and passionate doctor I've met! He was patient and listened to my concerns during every visit. As for the C section surgery, Dr. Fierro is the best! He used absorbable stitches, instead of staples, which was what my first ob doctor used on me and caused the keloid scar. He also closed the muscles to make the recovery better. This time, I was able to stop ALL pain killers the fifth day after the surgery. I can barely see the scar, and Dr. Fierro prescribed me the scar care cream to take care of the incision. (My ob doctor in Seattle did nothing for the scar and only told me that it is what it is.) I also feel that my belly flattened sooner than the last pregnancy. Thanks to Dr. Fierro, I recovered well and quickly from the C section surgery, and can better spend time with the baby. The front desk is always friendly, and the wait is short. The overall experience here is just great! I don't know about virginal birth, but if you need to have a C section, Dr. Fierro is the best! read more

I have been with this team since 1989 and all three of my daughters were delivered by Dr. Contro (the first with the help of the ER doctor on duty). His warm, professional, genuine care has kept me healthy through each phase of my life for almost 30 years. His team is like a family business and they work together seamlessly from scheduling to billing. I appreciate that they call to remind me on a Friday, before the weekend, that I have a Tuesday appointment. It gives me time to change my schedule if something has become a conflict. Not waiting until Monday is a benefit to me (we all know how crazy Mondays are in an Ob/Gyn office!). I love that Barb knows me by name and helps me through the ridiculous insurance maze that we all experience from any insurance company. I have always said that Dr. Contro is a perfectionist and he would prioritize you above all else and any rush. You have his undivided attention. In addition, he is extremely picky about the people he hires and I have never had an issue with my 'friends' in his practice. Each of the Nurse Practitioners I have worked with over many years have become like a trusted girlfriend. When they move on to new adventures of moving up or having babies of their own, the office keeps in touch and it is sweet to hear updates. There is very little turnover. Dr. Contro and team have literally seen my daughters be born and are now grown to be cared for by Dr. Fiero. It is no surprise that Dr. Contro hired someone he trusted and was as genuine as he is professional. Truth be told, I loved Dr. Contro being a perfectionist since I was a picky patient and wanted the best doctors for my girls as well. I have had the same doctors for my family for 25+ years. Even our pediatrician was Dr. Contro's patient, which is no surprise. I thought that my daughters would prefer a woman doctor but they love Dr. Fiero and his warm personality puts them at ease immediately. Ami has been a blessing over several difficult phases of our lives and I can say that I trust them both with my daughters. I am not one to write reviews on YELP, quite the contrary. But when I referred a girlfriend who was looking for a new Ob/Gyn (she knew how much I loved mine) I found a recent negative review here on Yelp. Obviously, the issues listed seemed like she was describing a different practice. They are not the online, tech savvy large Medical Group practice. They are a private practice that focuses on quality care. I do not understand some of the concerns, like long lunch hours or office hours not being posted on the door. I know they keep time open during lunch so they can fit in emergency appointments. I have been one of those needing to be seen during that precious time. I have also delivered a baby during lunch time and they visit patients in labor at the hospital during their lunch. Also, none of my doctors have their hours posted on the office door since they do not accept 'walk-ins'. The phone system greeting provides clear details regarding office hours and emergency contact instructions. I personally do not drive to the office to make an appointment. And the claim that the handwritten thank you notes posted were written by staff is just ridiculous. Not every doctor is for every patient, especially when it comes to infertility, childbirth and menopause; incredibly personal and emotional issues. But not every patient is for every practice. Some patients might choose to move along to another office where they are impersonal, you are treated as a revenue source based on what insurance you have and you join the assembly line of appointments. There are plenty of medical offices out there like that to choose from. As for me and my girls, we value our team at Dr. Fiero's office in a time where quality of care is difficult to find available. read more

Let me just say Dr Fierro saved my life and my daughter Sofia. He is a very proactive doctor who takes a more cautious road then let's wait and see road. If u have worries about your pregnancy or any complications In the hands of the wrong provider, do not think twice and go to Fierro. First off he found I have several blood clotting genes that put my risk up and put me on blood thinners and helped me and hubby get pregnant. He monitored me closely during my pregnancy provided great care and support. He truly cares. Up to 34 weeks all went well until a routine check up where he noticed signs of pre eclampsia starting in. He also saw low fluid and immediately sent me to Good Samaritan where I was admitted. Me and baby closely monitored as I did have pre eclampsia and low fluid. All was going well until Tuesday morning around 1am where I started bleeding in my sleep. Now my baby and my life are in danger and he comes in at 2am and gets her out immediately by csection, not to mention stitches your muscles back together. Today, Sofia and I made it, but I owe my life to this man. He is our hero as I truly believe I would be dead along with baby had I not gone to him. I don't even think I would have made this far in the pregnancy without him. read more

I am so glad I found this office of Dr. Fierro. EVERYONE at the office is extremely nice and helpful. Dr. Fierro himself is superb! Today was my first visit with Dr. Fierro as his patient. I have avoided my annual exam since the birth of my last child almost 3 years ago. It is usually an uncomfortable experience that I dread. The staff treats you like family. Dr. Fierro takes his time to thoroughly understand concerns and symptoms, then discusses pros and cons of each treatment option. He is a progressive doctor that looks at the full picture to ensure optimal health and well-being. It is also extremely convenient that he is an expert ob-gyn and also a primary care provider! I have never quite understood why we see a gynecologist just once a year and see our primary for everything else. I spent a lot of time researching to find the perfect Dr. to navigate me through my first pregnancy and am so fortunate that I found Dr. Fierro. I received exceptional care throughout my pregnancy and was able to enjoy my first pregnancy without any anxiety or complications. If I could give Dr. Fierro ten stars I would! He is very personable, knowledgeable, empathetic and resourceful. He actively listened to my concerns as I approached my due date and gave me a choice on how I wanted to do (or not do) certain elements of my labor and delivery. He was very open minded, respectful and supportive and we came up with a plan that I was comfortable with, and of course in the best interest of me and the baby. Due to a number of factors (preeclampsia & almost a week overdue) I ended up having a c-section. I felt nervous and anxious when I entered the operating room but as soon as Dr. Fierro arrived a wave of calmness washed over me because I knew I was in good hands with him. I had a very smooth delivery and remarkable recovery. Visitors at the hospital were very impressed by how mobile I was and all the credit goes to Dr. Fierro and how meticulous he was during my c-section. He delivered 3 out of 4 of his own children and told me on several occasions that he gives his patients the same level of care that he would give his wife and I genuinely believe he does!
