Tre Bella Flowers - Lovely bridal bouquet

    Tre Bella Flowers

Tre Bella provided the flowers for my October 2014 wedding, including bouquets,…read morecenterpieces/arrangements, and a chuppah (wedding canopy). I chose them based on the recommendation of my wedding coordinator, the lovely pictures on their blog, and the good vibes I had from our first meeting. First let me say that the ladies at Tre Bella were very sweet, kindhearted, and easy to work with. I really liked them, and I hate to leave a mixed review. Unfortunately, I have to admit I wasn't totally happy with the flowers they provided in terms of bang for buck. We had a budget of $2000 for flowers which I think was reasonable based on what I've heard from friends and the proposals I received from other florists. However, it seemed to be too low for Tre Bella to provide us with the really lovely, full arrangements I was drawn to on their blog. For example, we paid $425 for the chuppah, which did not include the canopy itself (made by my sister). The only decoration was a floral "swag" in one corner. It was pretty, but I had thought we discussed greenery wrapping the poles and at the base. I was surprised that we had paid over $400 for the one floral swag and rental of four poles. Again, it was very pretty and nice but the price seemed excessive for the amount of decoration. Similarly, our centerpieces were quite small. The original estimate had gone about $300 over budget and I asked if we could reduce the costs, so Tre Bella suggested a different style of centerpiece. I guess I should have asked for a picture, but they were quite a bit smaller and more modest than I had imagined from the descriptions in the proposal. Again, the arrangements were pretty and tasteful and all those important things, but I was quite surprised to find that we had paid $50 each to rent a mercury candleholder with three single bud vases around it. Our rehearsal dinner venue provided single bud vases with roses for free! I do want to stress that the bouquets were GORGEOUS and the boutonnieres were quite nice too--with the unfortunate exception of my groom's. His boutonniere was made of stephanotis, which turned out to be very delicate--it had started to wilt by the end of the ceremony and before the cocktail hour was over had been completely crushed by all the hugging. The groomsmen's boutonnieres with roses were much hardier and I am surprised they recommended such a delicate flower for the groom. Again, I loved the ladies at Tre Bella, I loved our bouquets, and everything was attractive and tasteful; however I am sad to say that if I could go back I would probably choose a different florist, just because I think we could have gotten more for our money. If you have a lot to spend, I think you can get really beautiful and lush and elaborate arrangements as I saw on their blog. They really seem to have great taste and provide high quality flowers. However, I would be cautious if you have a more moderate budget.

I'm pretty indecisive and couldn't decide on very many features about my wedding flowers, except: I like ribbon. I hate tickly pointless greenery filler. I didn't want a heavy bouquet. Then I sent Rachael tons of 'inspiration' pics, from bouquets I said I liked, to what my decor was going to look like, to what I hoped would be the "feel" of my wedding, all of which probably contradicted each other in some way! They took all of that over-information and managed to create the flowers I wanted, but didn't know I wanted. I felt their prices were typical/reasonable. They were also willing to work with me when I constantly changed my mind about the kinds of flowers I wanted / quantity, etc. They were so patient! I recommend them to all my friends who are getting married and ask who my favorite vendor was. As a note, I was a destination bride and email communication was very spotty. But they were always courteous and friendly when I finally did talk to them and got the job done, so I wasn't too upset. I could see some people being more upset, though. Also, my wedding was at Duke Gardens, and they delivered and set up my flowers with no issues. Also, I do wish they did more than event flowers. I'd love to send my mom flowers from them for Mother's Day. :)

During our final consultation meeting with Diane a little over a month before the big day, it made me even happier that we found this team to work with. We talked more about my vision, colors, flowers I liked, etc. and I let them run with that and let their creativity run wild. What I got in result were florals and arrangements even more beautiful than I ever could have imagined! The pieces used for our ceremony were stunning, and I loved that we were able to have them moved during the reception to enjoy them even more! My bouquet (I believe it was made by Amanda) and my MOH bouquets were gorgeous. I wish I could have frozen them in time and kept them forever. I especially loved how they incorporated my favorite flower, peonies, into the bouquet and different table arrangements. I can't thank the team at Bowerbird enough for creating so much beauty to frame our wedding day. I cannot recommend them enough. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Love, Chelsey & Jason

Instead of trying to help or provide a solution, I was made to feel like I was an inconvenience. Good customer service is about treating people with respect, even when problems arise, and unfortunately that wasn't my experience. I'll start with the fact that they limit the number of people allowed to shop in the store and kindly ask people to wait their turn. I really appreciate this since the store is a little on the smaller side. They carry a variety of house plants, big and small, as well as planters/cover pots, stationary, gifts, dried flowers, and other cool items that would be great for any plant lover. The woman working was also very nice! I messaged them on Instagram a few days before I stopped by because I've been on the hunt for a peace lily and, lucky me, they had a couple in stock! I also walked away with a beautiful golden pothos (devil's ivy) because I'm a plant addict. I would say that their prices are fair and comparable to what I would normally spend on plants that I usually buy online so I'm happy. Even happier to get out of the house and to support a local Black-owned business. I didn't inspect the plants ~too~ much at the store before buying honestly (which i never recommend doing), but was really happy when I got home to see that they were in great shape and the soil was a nice aerated mix. Just needed to give the leaves a little cleaning with water and neem oil and they're shining! I have never been, but I live closer to their Raleigh location and will definitely make a point to stop by soon. Gotta keep up with my New Years goal of getting one new plant a month lol. Love this place! Definitely recommend stopping by and looking around.
