Apparently if you are not a vinyl expert you can't go in there. Today the guy at the counter was extremely rude to me and my friends. We wanted to listen to a record, and yes, to be honest we weren't sure about how to use their record player, because we are no real vinyl collectors or experts, and instead of trying to be helpful he humilliated us trying to make us look like idiots. I get the whole "vinyls are sacred" shit, but come on! music is for everyone and you want more people to listen to artists's music and contribute to the vinyl culture. After this experience it just makes me think that this is an elitist culture, a commodification of the vinyl, a format that one time in history was the only format that people could buy to listen to music -as cheesy as buying a record from Cher-, so dont give me that crap aout it being only for "special people that are hyper educated about vinyl. Fuck you, I've been to record stores that actually want you to know new music. This store is the example of hipster gentrification. Pretentious, PR savvy guys that appear in magazines. read more
