Another one of the fabulous weekend markets on/off of Brick Lane.
I've never been to this spot on it's own--it's always been as a part of a more substantial Sunday market bender, coupled with the larger Brick Lane Market and the Upmarket at the Truman Brewery (both also worth visiting).
I have a particular fondness for the Backyard Market, in particular, as it always seems to be less packed than other Sunday markets. Also, because they have a unique selection of odd and wonderful stalls that never fails to make me laugh (or part with a bunch of money).
Most importantly, this place seems to have something for everyone--making it perfect for bringing diverse groups of friends who are just visiting for a weekend. This market is filled with cheeky photographers, jewelry craftspeople for pieces all price points, record stalls, all sorts of t-shirts , vendors for chocolate, tea and baked goods. Plus there's tons more!
If you're feeling like something a bit more substantial to eat, there are tons of options right out front of this market (and, obviously, all up and down brick lane on a Sunday).
All in all, check this place out.
It's a lot of fun and well worth a visit/diversion from your average Brick Lane Sunday. read more
