I am forever grateful for the recommendation I received from Dr. Stephen Hankins for Dr. Brindle. Parking can be difficult but thankfully they offer complimentary valet service. Dr. Brindle and his staff including his nurse practitioner Victoria Flower are wonderful. Dr. Brindle recommended that I have an laminectomy and microdisectomy due to the injury I sustained in which my L4-L5 disc was badly protruding and pressing on my nerve root. I was nervous because it required hospitalization. Dr. Brindle put me at ease. I was hospitalized one extra day for pain management and to ensure I could properly conquer the staircase at home. Appointments are easily made via phone. If you require surgery Dr. Brindle and his staff do an great job ensuring you have the proper follow up afterwards. The surgery I had was what has been the career killer for Tiger Woods and has plagued him. I went into things with the mindset this was an one shot deal because everyone I've encountered that's had multiple spine surgeries is miserable. I'm happy to say I'm doing great. I resumed walking right away and an week and an half post op I walked fifteen miles. I couldn't be happier and more thankful. I'm forever indebted to Dr. Brindle. I'm pain free and with the exception of some range of motion issues that may not improve I'm physically better than I have been in some time.

I had an appointment with Dr. Hassid requesting treatment for Chronic Sleep Apnea. I brought two…read moreovernight sleep lab reports and he wrote the Rx for the CPAP machine. Then his staff REFUSED to make just one quick phone call to Lincare to get the Rx filled. It took six phone calls on my part to eventually force the staff to do their job. My appointment was October 23rd and it was not until October 31st that the staff finally broke down and grudgingly agreed to do one four minute phone call to get the Durable Medical Equipment Rx filled. Dr. Eric Hassid's medical assistant Ladill is incompetent and lazy. She kept insisting I had to call Lincare to get the Rx filled and it was "not in her job description to do this". When I tried to explain to her that Durable Medical Equipment suppliers do NOT deal directly with patients she kept insisting "do it yourself". Basically, I was thrown under the bus. She has very poor communication skills and lacks "active listening skills". I spent one hour with Dr. Eric Hassid during my appointment. 50% of the session was regarding getting the CPAP machine for Chronic Sleep Apnea. The other 50% of the session was discussing 20 years of severe chronic pain I experience from when I was rear ended by a 10 ton UPS truck at 60 mph. Dr. Eric Hassid never bothered to even mention that Sutter Health has a chronic pain management support program and he did not bother to give me any semblance of a treatment plan for this medical condition. After my appointment ended, I picked up a brochure at the front desk which explained the variety of services this clinic offers. It was only by accident that I discovered Sutter Health DOES OFFER chronic pain management services. What Dr. Eric Hassid actually DID do was hand me a list of over $200 of vitamins/supplements he sells in the reception area of his office. Is he a vitamin/supplement pill salesman - or is he practicing medicine and providing patient care appropriate to his client's needs? His staff is incompetent, especially his medical assistant. Both Ladill and Sarah told me on the phone "it is not my job description to make one four minute phone call to get your Durable Medical Equipment prescription filled, do it yourself". This is in direct violation of the well established protocol for obtaining Durable Medical Equipment. Optigen, Apria, Lincare DO NOT EVER deal directly with patients - any more than a patient could walk into a pharmacy and ask for Rx medication without FIRST the doctor creating a prescription. I was "thrown under the bus" by this clinic. My primary care doctor at Dignity Health left his job a few months ago, and moved out of town. I was going to enroll with Sutter Health for a brand new primary care doctor but NO WAY would I do that, nor would I ever go back to this clinic for follow up care. It functions as a vitamin pill/supplement retail store NOT patient care. I was "thrown under the bus". Badly done! I was Dr. Eric Hassid's patient when he had his own clinic in Davis, back around 2006. It was not Sutter Health - and there was more cohesion in treatment plans and the staff was excellent at the old Davis clinic. I think Sutter Health is a "Hot Mess" with inept, substandard lack of rudimentary communication skills, poorly trained staff who lack a work ethic and do not want to lift a finger to help patients. None of the staff at this clinic during my first visit told me there was a Patient Portal online that I needed to register in. I only discovered this on my own efforts. Nobody gave me the It should NOT have taken SIX phone calls over the course over ten days to have a very simple task performed by the staff of this office.

So many Doctors now a days prescribe drugs that they do not have adequate knowledge of, Dr Hassid is more thoughtful re this than I have have found other Doctors to be. His practice in integrative which really means he will look at the whole picture; body, mind, spirit , lifestyle, diet etc. He is an exceptional, caring Doctor.

He's informative and has good bedside manner and does a good job explaining his gameplan, mindset, and reasoning in an efficient manner. Appointments are not always the easiest to come by since he's the head of neurosurgery for UC Davis Medical Group. I could've seen someone else a bit sooner but chose to wait since my case was a bit complicated due to previous spine procedures and surgery. Parking is easy to find in their vast parking lot. You'll find a number of other specialty offices in other suites on their campus. I underwent a L5-S1 discectomy at their wonderful new 48X outpatient surgical facility. It's a gorgeous new surgery center that's designed for outpatient procedures but they'll admit you overnight if needed. Unfortunately my disc was calcified and he had to carefully and tediously drill out the herniated disc as it was pressing on my nerve root. It caused horrific pain and my leg and foot were becoming unstable and weak. My surgery ended up being five hours long instead of two, and he ended up admitting me overnight for observation and pain control, which was a blessing. I'm on the road to recovery, and I thank Dr. Kim for everything. I hope and pray I'm able to ride a bicycle with our daughters who are five and eight in the near future. I was in a car accident in 2017 and underwent a laminectomy and microdiscectomy in 2018. I've never been able to go on a bike ride with them and it's been my dream, hope, and wish I've been working towards.

Long story but if you are considering Dr. Kim, it is well worth reading!!…read more Dr. Kee Kim is an incredible doctor and he has my absolute highest recommendation to anyone considering scheduling an operation with him. Surgery is never easy, but with Dr. Kim it was. After 11 years of pain, I am now pain-free. ***My Story*** My L4-L5 disc herniated in 2007, at the age of 21. I spent the next 11 years in increasingly debilitating pain. I went to various doctors multiple times up and down the state complaining of pain in the same region. They all sent me home with pain pills/narcotics, none of them believing (or caring?) about the severity of my pain. It became worse and worse until finally I had to quit my job as a teacher because I became (basically) paralyzed in 2017. The pain was so bad that I couldn't get up. My 6-year-old spent the next 6-9 months taking full care of me, (I'm a single mom) including meals, cleaning etc. as I laid in bed in excruciating pain. ***Dr. Kee Kim*** My story became public when I reached out to the newspaper begging for help as I was financially depleted and about to become homeless. Dr. Kee Kim, out of the kindness of his heart and by the grace of God, decided he could help me and took me on. I was so scared to do the surgery, who wouldn't be? But I knew that if anyone could help me, it would be him... I had read numerous reviews on various websites about him; even from people who flew in from out of state just for him. After meeting him and seeing how professional, knowledgeable and confident he was, I knew for a fact I was in good hands. While Dr. Kim was operating on my spine, he discovered that my disc had fused to my spinal cord because it had been herniated for so long. This was not apparent on any testing done prior to surgery, so Dr. Kim had to scrape the disc off my spinal cord-- on the spot. One slip of the hand and I would've been fully paralyzed for life. To me it shows incredible talent, genius, and hand-eye coordination that a neurosurgeon absolutely MUST have. I am so thoroughly impressed and pleased with the outcome. (An unexpected outcome as well is that my mood and spirits are so high. I didn't even realize how my disability had me so down in the dumps until Dr. Kim fixed me.) It has been almost 6 months since surgery and I am feeling great! The scar is so small (less than an inch long) and already faded to a light light pink. I am not only able to take care of my son again, but we get to go on hikes, parks, bike rides and more. I have my life back, and my son has his mom back. If you are reading this Dr. Kim, my son and I THANK YOU ETERNALLY!!!
