While the prices at Home Depot and Lowes were much better, I decided that it would be worth it to have a local company in case of problems or the need for future service. What a mistake. The prices were high to begin with and then they tried to screw me by hitting me for all the extra charges that were part of the original deal. For example, they didn't know they were going to need adhesive for tile? The attitude was terrible, they were extremely difficult to work with. It took weeks to get them to put estimates together because everyone has reduced hours, supposedly because of the economy. I used them for wood flooring and tile work. I wouldn't use them if they were the last business on earth. I never bother to write reviews but i couldn't let someone else endure this if it could be avoided. Avoid these people at all cost. Lowes in Gilford is very friendly, has good prices, provides estimates promptly and shows up exactly when they say they will. I am in my fifties and have owned and renovated several homes and this is literally the single worst experience with a small business I have ever had.

I just got the piece back and it is absolutely beautiful. The piece is a large, round seat with a central "fountain", much like something you might see in old hotels or train stations a century ago. Although it had gotten to the point where there was no safe place to sit on it without sinking through, my brothers and I hesitated to send it out because we weren't sure we could find someone up to the challenge. But we found the person and MORE! Betsy kindly sent out several different fabric choices, many of them excellent. We eventually went with something I found only because we had a very specific thing in mind. I also felt that, considering how difficult the piece was, the price was more than fair. They seemed to be professional or so we thought. Not quite a year later our awnings failed. It was very clear that they were not installed properly, we also had damage to the siding of our home. Although concerned we were shocked to be treated in such a disrespectful and rude manner. They actually refused to stand behind their work and tried to get additional funds from us. These awnings are expensive, were reported to be some of the best in the area. Our advice is to look elsewhere... they have the sale psychology down... how they stand behind their product and installation including the materials they use. Don't fall for it. Other installations near us have encountered the same experience. Poor installation practice and failures... only to be treated in a disrespectful manner with an outrageous estimate to fix the issue... And we thought they could be trusted and stood behind their work. They sadly do not... it is how they choose to do business. You will notice a 5 star review which is not accurate ... ours sadly is. I suggested one could pick up the detectors as he was serving no other purpose. instead when all other work was completed both where gone over an hour while I paid the hourly rate for both. I brought this issues to the owner. He failed to recognize a problem as this is standard procedure. if this is standard proceed I will look elsewhere in the future for another electrician.
