6 pieces and a Honey Biscuits
Jolens V.

The lady that was selling it was really nice. I was entertained by the big chicken display and I had been wanting to taste this. It had a little kick and that was great. The crunch was there but the inside was a little bit dry. It something that I would buy buy if I am close but if I am far from The place I would not make the trip.

Food: 4/5 Service: 3/5 Ambiance: N/A Overall: I'm always down for this chain! The extended review... Food: Fried Chicken - 5/5 - Very consistent with the other locations I've been to. It's crispy and crunchy for sure! I was super surprised to see this down here as all the other locations I've been to are located at gas stations. Service: 3/5 - Standard service. Ambiance: Not really a place you can sit and eat. Just a take out place.

Covid update: open for takeout or delivery One of the best and tastiest deals to be had in the Wharf. New and clean space. Plus it has a family feel as a franchise with a son & mom or husband & wife team whenever I've been. But to the fried chicken. Well seasoned, juicy on the inside, and crispy on the outside without being overly battered. Yum! Definitely enjoyed the dark meat pieces over tenders. Honey biscuits as an added treat. Lately they've offered $5 deals to drive traffic so it's tasty and great value - go support them!

They only had one breast and somehow deemed a single drumstick was an equitable substitution; it was not. While it is comforting food during these unprecedented times, it doesn't compare to fast food fried chicken places like Popeye's. A good option if you're nearby, but not worth a special trip. 8-piece Fried Chicken: I saw them battering the raw chicken, so you know it's freshly made and not some frozen nonsense. The pre-cooked pieces in the warmer bin I got were crispy on the outside and moist inside. The breast seemed particularly large and was definitely the highlight. Decent seasoning, though Popeye's is better. Biscuit: The honey butter soaked parts were really tasty, but the untouched inner core was dry. Which makes me think the unseasoned version of the biscuit is just kinda meh. Apple Frazil: Don't think apples from an orchard, think artificially flavored apple. Like drinking a Jolly Rancher Slurpee. It was actually a good pairing to a fried chicken, but got a bit overwhelming when there was some drink left after the chicken was finished.

3 piece dark combo with biscuit and a side of beans and rice.

Oh man, I just love fried chicken, and a new fried chicken place opened up just down the street from me! Maybe it's time for me to buy some pants with elastic waistbands? I stopped by today for lunch and they were still obviously trying to figure things out. There were only a couple of people in front of me, but it took forever for the lone cashier to take the orders. When it was finally my turn to order, I got a 3 piece dark combo, which consisted of 2 thighs and 1 drum, and a biscuit. ("Combo" just means that it comes with a biscuit - it does not include a side or a drink). I know I'm a weirdo, but I usually like to get some veggies with my lunch, but the closest I could get was a side of beans and rice. As an aside - I really do appreciate being able to get all dark meat. I hate chicken breast. There's no seating - this a to-go only place. No biggie for me, since I live just a couple minutes away. So I took the chicken home, and it was OK. It wasn't particularly Krispy or Krunchy or even tasty for that matter - in fact, the drumstick was a little on the soggy side, but it was OK. Not bad - much better than the Safeway deli fried chicken, but definitely not great. It was mostly lacking in flavor and spicy heat - it didn't taste all that cajun to me. Since I was at home, I took out my bottle of Tabasco and poured it liberally all over the chicken, and that helped quite a bit. If the chicken actually came with a small bottle of Tabasco or Crystal, then maybe it might be a 4 star chicken. The biscuit was also OK - it was strangely sweet, and the beans and rice were also OK.

8 Piece Krispy Chicken - Dark Meat Only Side of Fries (upgraded size)

The name of restaurant describes it all, the chicken and fries! It's simple, straight to the point, fresh fried chicken and fries. The fries are more like wedges from Safeway or KFC, but better. The 8 piece was more than enough 2 people, hopefully enough for 3-4 people. The Buffalo sauce tasted a little one note but added heat and tang (if you're into it). This location is at Fisherman's Wharf, def worth a try!

Chicken tenders and a biscuit for $8.99.
Matt G.

The newest KKC in Fisherman's Wharf is one of the few businesses that is open during this current pandemic crisis. You can order your meal at the counter or from any of the food apps for either delivery or pick up. And all meals are takeout only. Besides, there are no dining area at this location anyway. I was here for a Friday night light dinner/snack. I ordered the Cajun Chicken Tenders and Biscuit meal. For $8.99 +tax, I get four battered and crunchy chicken strips. The chicken strips are fresh and really crunchy. The one biscuit is small, but is really moist with a nice sweet glazed topping. I need to cut down on my carbohydrate and happy with the tiny biscuit. Plus, Popeye's still make a better biscuit than other fried chicken joints. Sounds like a solid meal and a good place to check out? Well, here is my pet-peeve. I am knocking off one star, because the workers were not wearing a mask. But they did wear gloves, which also helps in handling the food. Now it is mandatory for restaurant workers to wear both gloves and mask. I hope the workers do follow the food handling rules, especially now with the current situation.

The chicken was moist but was lacking in flavor. Mashed potatoes were also bland and the wedge fries were dry.

Great chicken, fries and biscuit. The lady working was very friendly. Before ordering, she offered a free sample of the chicken.

The preggo wifey was craving Cajun one day and was like "BRUH we have never gone to Cajun House…read moresince living here for a decade, and every time I bring it up, you say 'nah'. If its not the time to go there now mid-pregnancy with mid-CRAVE, then idk what life is." So we got the green light, finally. And I must say, if you're local and craving Cajun, then invite folks from outta City to eat here. My circle of people always be going to Cajun spots around East Bay or SJ. And they're all good but I say its worth for them to come INTO the City to bring that economy this way. Why is it worth it? FRIED RICE AND GARLIC NOODLE OPTIONS. and other choices. I feel like this spot has got some history to it too. The outside is sick af. The service is VERY ATTENTIVe. The ambiance is like there's some booths and tables with the classic Asian dark wooden panels that make it look like you in a restaurant in Rush Hour.

Overall experience disappointed me enough to go out of my way to leave this review…read more Now, I adore seafood boil so this was disheartening. We came in at 6:45-7; we ordered cajun fries, a seafood combo, garlic noodles, & some steamed rice. Canjun fries to start, was the only thing that tasted good. Garlic noodles were bland and consistency was too soft; I expected from the reviews stating "stand-out" garlic noodles it would taste exceptional, but instead they're noodles with a whisper of garlic. The seafood boil was probably the worst. They definitely gave us the scraped leftovers of the pot, poured in boiling water, and called it a day. ABSOLUTELY NO FLAVOR. We kept trying to dig into the bag and giving it an absurd amount of chances to eventually discover better flavor using all my faith, only to be left so dissatisfied. It was supposed to be a mix of Canjun and Garlic Butter flavor, but the better description compares to orange water with chopped vegetable bits. No richness, no gloves given, flavor and viscosity similar to water, and the seafood definitely wasn't fresh either as it caused our stomachs to feel pretty sick after. I felt so shocked I experienced a seafood boil that could hold no flavor especially when you consider all the seasonings and preparation that goes into it. I left feeling sad having to pay for an inadequate dinner.

It was my daughter's first time and she loved it just as much as I did. We came during restaurant week so we decided to get the Creole Sampler so she could try a bunch of different items. (Sampler included red beans and rice, collard greens, fried catfish, hush puppies, plain beignet and gumbo). We also ordered the beignet flight and shrimp and grits. Plenty of food for the 2 of us, plus we had left overs. I can't not order the shrimp and grits. It's just so damn good! It's so rich and flavorful! It came out SUPER hot. Grits and cheese still bubbling. My daughter and I were both surprised she liked the collard greens. She's usually not a fan. She also liked the red beans and rice and she doesn't usually like beans either. That just goes to show how amazing the food is here! We came in around 4something pm on a rainy Sunday. There weren't many people there, but by the time we left it was more than half full. Service was friendly, and there was a band playing, which was a nice touch.

Let me start with the star of the show - the Shrimp & Grits. The flavors blended so well I did a little dance in my seat. Creamy, savory and delicious! I will be dreaming about the Shrimp and Grits from now on. The Bananas Foster French Toast melted in my mouth. So yummy. I wasn't a fan of the Crawfish Beignets. It was something about the flavor of the red powder/ seasoning that left me underwhelmed. All in all, one of my favorite stops while I was in town.

The fried bread was bland, the meat had little to no flavor, and there was far too much lettuce. The beef and broccoli was dry and also lacked flavor. The fried rice was the worst dish we tried, even after asking for soy sauce (and only receiving three packets), it didn't improve. There were a few highlights: the dumplings were good, and the egg rolls were just okay, though they had an odd flavor I couldn't quite identify. It was some kind of spice or herb. The General Tso's chicken and garlic orange chicken were both solid, and the chow mein was decent. Ordering was frustrating. Several items we wanted--the pineapple beef, shaking beef, and Kung Pao chicken--were all unavailable. We also tried to order a pineapple soju, but they didn't have it, so we settled for peach instead. The decor was nice, but the dining experience felt lacking. Food was served in to-go containers with paper plates, cups, and plastic cutlery, which took away from the experience. There was also a language barrier with our waiter, which made communication difficult--especially when asking questions about the menu or trying to place our order since the QR code system wasn't working. OVERALL, not an experience we would repeat.

She had heard about this place from a client that she had worked with a couple weeks ago. The place had a really cool vibe to it; it's like you're stepping into a more intimate, Cracker Barrel. We were seated by the front of house pretty quickly. The space could hold quite a few people, there is a bar area and outside seating. We sat in the back by the kitchen. When we got there, we ordered a couple drinks and a lot of food. I had the okey-dokey artichokey and my partner had the respect your elders drink; both were strong and tasty. It went well with our appetizers of fried okra and fried calamari. I really enjoyed the jalapeño aïoli that came with the okra so much that I started dipping the calamari in it. The calamari coating on the outside was a lot heavier than what I was used to, but it was still really tasty. For our main entrées, I got the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and collard greens and my partner got the porch burger with fries. The fried chicken was cooked perfectly. It wasn't dry. It was juicy and I really liked putting their homemade hot sauce on the chicken and greens. The habanero hot sauce was really spicy, but I liked how sweet it was. My partner's burger was cooked perfectly and it was a big portion. I definitely recommend this place to someone who is bold enough to go on a date and still eat with their hands. Somehow, this was elevated southern food, which could be shown by the prices, but I think it's worth it once in a while.
