This is the absolute best chicken in at least a 60 mile radius of Champaign, IL. The new owners have really brought the quality. The strips are big, the flavor is bigger. This is fantastic Cajun chicken. Not that fake Cajun where they just douse it in pepper and burn it. This actually has a well blended flavorful seasoning that honestly beats the Colonel's 11, these guys must be using 14 or something. Their bone in chicken will have you questioning your existence in this world without Krispy Krunchy in your life. Their Fries are truly freedom fries, freedom from the bland fires you get everywhere else. And their honey mustard, honey please, if they sold this by the bottle I would liquidate my 401k and invest in honey mustard futures. What I'm saying is our lives were meaningless with out this in it. Thanks so much for the great service guys. I can't wait till I pick up another bag of goodness. read more

They gave me an extra wing to compensate for the lack of a breast. There wasn't a whole lot of meat on the bones but the skin was crunchy and delicious. The Mac and cheese was incredible and worth the money even though it's kinda pricey. The area itself was sketchy and made me feel like I had to keep an eye out but it was worth it for the food! read more

The food is really delicious and the chicken is crunchy and perfectly seasoned. The sides are of the southern variety like greens, red beans and rice and Mac and cheese. Their biscuits are different as well. The service is quick considering the chicken is usually cooked to order. The restaurant is small and there is no place to sit. read more

Best fried chicken ever!! I've had Popeyes and KFC growing up and this place beats those places hands down. The price and quality is insane. I ordered 8 piece dark meat krispy chicken and it was only $10. That's $1.25 for one piece! Keep in mind that I went in person and paid using cash. In the past, I've also ordered off Grubhub and the total was a little more for the same thing (I think $14?). That's not Krispy Krunchy Chicken's fault at all though. Since Grubhub is so greedy they take like 15% of the total, it makes sense why KKC had to raise their prices on delivery services. Regardless of how you buy it (online or in person), the price is still cheaper than Popeyes/KFC. The chicken itself was also delicious: the outside was krispy and krunchy (they def hold up to their name lol) and the inside was hot and juicy. I think they inject the chicken with hot sauce(?) before cooking so the meat was moist and not dry like most places. Ask them for their hot sauce if you like your chicken spicy! I've also tried their chicken jambalaya: I can't speak much about it since I don't eat jambalaya too often so I can't fully tell if it's authentic/good etc. It was yummy though and I ate the whole thing. I'm mad that I've living here for almost 4 years and just found out about this place.. I wish someone told me sooner! The location is a little sketch (next to a liquor store) but it's not something that should deter you from coming here. The men behind the counter are also super sweet. I've heard really good things about their honey butter biscuits so that is the next thing I wanna try when I come here. read more

Infused with spice, not oily at all, fresh and pipping hot and the juiciest chicken I've ever had. The previous reviews are true- the place is in a sketchy area but the food quality is also very true. Order delivery if you're not trying to go out. This place is on point. They have the best fried chicken and biscuits in town! I have literally driven across town in the middle of a work day for a friggin biscuit! So after a few visits for the chicken and biscuits, another customer tells me to try their Philly Cheese Steak....whyyyy?! It is everything I miss from my hometown! SO delicious! Weellll, it's some place other than KFC, County Market or Popeyes. Supposed to be "cajun" not spicy. Jambalaya is decent, homemade which is nice. Biscuits are meh, small over cooked. Price is right there with tge chains. $9 for a 3 piece that includes 1 side, biscuit and drink. The one big plus is that the pieces look as though they may have actually come from full size chickens. Unfortunately, for the price I'm paying for "cajun" chicken I'll have to stick with Popeyes since it DOES have a tiny bit of kick and although they speak urban gibberish it's easier to understand than the guy at Krispy Krunchy. read more

Ordered delivery tonight, had two wings, a breast, a biscuit and rice and beans, And i'm now sitting here with a contented smile on my face. Everything was excellent. The chicken really is crispy and crunchy. It really does beat Popeyes in my book. The breading is just spicy enough, sort of in between the two breadings at the forementioned place. The chicken was fried just right. The rice and beans were the real deal, and although I'm not a biscuit person, this one was heavenly. Crunchy on the top and bottom and a delicate middle. Krispy Krunchy Chicken is one of the better fried chicken places in Champaign. The chicken and sides are all delicious. The staff is friendly, and the store is always clean and tidy. It's much better than KFC and Popeyes with prices that are as good as, or even better, than those stores. read more
