We were vacationing in the area and treated ourselves to breakfast. The Yelp reviews looked good so…read morehere we are! Of course, I ordered the Eggs Benedict! French Bread, Canadian Bacon, two poached eggs (I like mine hard boiled), Hollandaise sauce (I always order extra Hollandaise), and a side of crispy home fries. He ordered the CountryFried Steak and Eggs! Both meals were good. A predictably good way to begin a day of sight seeing in the mountains! Most Sincerely, Dayla

We stopped in here by accident thinking it was another restaurant but since we were already there…read morewe stayed. I had a grilled chicken sandwich with Mac and cheese since I have a fish allergy and was advised not to eat anything that's been fried since it could have been fried in oil where fish was cooked. Okay??!! Better safe than sorry. My husband had a burger with fries. My chicken sandwich started out kind of good, but then it started tasting like a bland piece of cooked chicken. I did not taste much grilled flavor at all and it was awkwardly put together and even more awkward to eat. The Mac and cheese had so much cheese and that's about all I tasted, a gooey, cheesy mess. My husband said his burger would have been okay if it wouldn't have fallen apart. The fries were just okay. I really didn't enjoy my meal. I wanted to order something different but since they (allegedly) mix their fish fried offerings with other non-fish items I was relegated to this meal that I really didn't care for. On a positive note our young server was very sweet and did everything she could to provide us with great service. She was kind and offered suggestions and good information when she could. We appreciated that. So even though the meal wasn't a win, the server's attention and service was. I think it could have been better if we'd ordered something different, so don't overlook this place. Some other things on the menu might be just fine.

Lovely dinner and resys are highly recommended during summer season. We stopped in on Saturday…read moreevening around 7 pm and had to wait for an opening, which took about 20 minutes. The staff was great, checking in to see if we wanted drinks as we waited. We ordered the below: - Quail - interesting take and very delicious, the rice was a delightful pairing - Beet salad - light and refreshing, the cheese complemented it well - Bison meatloaf - table next to us recommended it and we can see why! Rich and delicious. As someone who doesn't like meatloaf, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The mac and cheese with broccoli rabe was fitting It was busy so the bartender serving us apologized a few times. She was kept busy but was friendly.

While visiting from out of town a friend suggested this restaurant. The restaurant itself is fine…read more Open interior dining with a outside porch option and a friendly staff. Nothing at all fancy. Very expensive small portions. They had a blackberry old fashioned as a drink special. I love old fashioned but not flavored so I asked if a regular one could be made. What I got was bourbon on ice with a cherry. No orange peel, no muddled fruit, no orange bitters I could taste but at least the pour was decent. $12.00. As soon as our drinks hit we were asked if we were ready to order. We haven't been there 10 mins. I'm not a fan of that in any way. It's supposed to be a dining experience not fast food. So off to a weird start. After a second visit in 5 mins to order I asked for at least time to finish our cocktail. Why the rush? 8 tables were empty. I ordered the heirloom tomatoes app, $18! See photo and what I got was a bowl of chopped tomatoes in juice with olive oil and chunks of cheese. One step above a cold chunky tomato soup. The server did say it was "different" but $18 for 1 chopped tomato? I asked for salt as it was lacking but it was never brought. We ordered a bottle of wine called Caymus The Walking Fool Red Blend, menu price $100. It was very good so after a sip or two I looked it up on Vivino as I might buy some at retail. The retail price at Total Wine is $29.99! A $70 gouge mark up! Ouch. We like expensive wine and are aware of restaurant make up but $70? Now we are wondering what the main course is going to be like. We have growing discontent. I ordered the Ciopino $48.00. It was a tiny serving of tomato-ish broth, with 1 scallop, 2 shrimp and a tablespoon of codfish seasoned with slivers of fennel and a piece of bread. The piece of bread was the only reason you don't leave hungry after that dish. On a positive note the peach cake was pretty good. $12.00 Now my bill comes and there is a $7.71 Credit Card use charge. Jeeze, prolly won't go back.

For context, I'm a South Louisiana gal, who's lived in Los Angeles for 23 years. I've spent the…read moreentire summer here, and I cook...A LOT. The catfish is the best I've had in Asheville, so far. I've tried Good Hot Fish, some of the other oyster houses and the po-boys at Sunny Point, but Crab du Jour is my fave, when it comes to catfish. Everyone is cordial and accommodating here. The sweet potatoes could use a little soul food mama help, but otherwise, everything I've had here has been delicious, from the clams, mussels, shrimp, sausage, corn and potatoes. Selfishly, I want the crawfish season to last longer, but I don't know the choreography of the rain dances to extend that season, so here we are with frozen IQFs.

(2/5 Stars)…read more Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing from start to finish. The service was fair, but the food took a very long time to arrive. When it finally did, the seafood didn't seem particularly fresh, and the catfish was overcooked to the point of being burnt. To the restaurant's credit, they did offer a discount after the issue was brought to their attention, which I appreciated. However, the quality of the meal simply wasn't what I expected. One thing that also stood out was the feedback box near the cashier. It was so overloaded with comment cards that it honestly made me wonder whether the feedback is ever reviewed or acted upon. If customer comments are being collected, there should be a visible effort to address the concerns people are taking the time to write down. I hope this was just an off day, but between the long wait, poor food quality, and the impression that customer feedback may not be taken seriously, I don't see myself returning.
