The service was fine. Person helping us explained it's cheaper to order a half dozen than 5 individual donuts. I appreciated the insight here which helped us save some money. The donuts were perfect. As delicious as I can remember and fresh. They had 2 of the 3 speciality donuts advertised (crème brûlée and raspberry crème). The location was freezing. It was unbearable to be in there ordering the donuts. We had planned to eat the donuts inside but sat in the parking lot to eat them. If someone orders a particular donut online, you should contact the customer to ask them which donut they would rather have instead, instead of just giving them a different flavored donut than what they asked for, without warning. Good donuts, just do better with customer service. read more

I don't go there often, but when I have went there, it was for my birthday rewards and each time we are greeted with an attitude and they make it seem like giving the donuts away for free is coming out of their pocket. they are visibly annoyed and basically just hand you your order without even a thank you or saying a simple "here you go" but quick to slide the window closed right in your face. why does the company give out these kind of rewards if you're just going to get treated badly for redeeming them? read more

Back again and the lights on. This means that fresh donuts are being pumped out . You cannot beat these donuts when they are this fresh. Still an excellent store. Great staff. Nice parking lot. I understand that places are understaffed and overworked right now, but I was very displeased to hear the way the manager responded to my wife via phone. We don't travel to South Bend often, but when we do we stop at Krispy Kreme, especially when the lights on. We noticed the light was off most of our trip, so my wife called to inquire. The manager responded with a rude tone "In the morning only. I don't have cooks in the evening to make them." Although this is understandable, the part I didn't appreciate is when my wife said thank you and tried ask another question, but was hung up on. Not pleased with the service, so hopefully the new location opening closer to our home is a better experience for us. read more

I have to admit, I thought there was a real unhappy vibe in the staff on a Saturday morning . I waited in the doughnut counter line at least 2o minutes and didn't hear any of the 5 staff people around even talking to customers. When it was finally my turn to order, I left soon without ordering. I noticed another 2o minutes line waiting to pay! I asked the doughnut counter person if I have to wait in that line to pay. Doughnut counter person said yes. I asked if there is a time when the line isn't this long, where you can get in and get out on a weekend morning. She said no. The 2 cashiers were busy taking money, but not smiling or talking to customers. There seemed to be one person taking coffee-type drink orders. My assessment is management needs to look at this operation from a customer's side. When you are standing around waiting a long time, customers are observing what is not working at this place. I would echo what Nathan W. and others have said. This may be the dirtiest eating establishment I've ever been in. Just look at the photos. I contacted Krispy Kreme shortly after our visit and they promised to follow up. I told them I wasn't looking for a refund or anything. I wasn't looking for the manager or anyone to get into trouble. They never followed up so I assume it was ignored and the conditions might be the same. We spent over $13 for three of us to have mediocre donuts and drinks in this dirty environment. A lot of the plain donuts in the case were super tiny. No consistency with size. So I opted for the donut holes. They were stale and tasted like burnt oil. I doubt they were made fresh that day. I will say my hazelnut latte was very good, just not filled to the top. Our first counter person didn't know what a cruller was when we asked. She sort of abandoned us mid order and a second nice worker saw that and came and helped us. She informed us this location did not make crullers. We appreciated her stepping up. Be careful too when you come out of the bathroom because the viewing area for the donut assembly line has a tiled step that is the same tile as the floor. It's easy to miss and trip over if you don't look down. Anyway, we wanted this to be a fun family visit, maybe a weekly or monthly tradition. We won't be back until it's under new management and remodeled for sure. We don't discourage you from going to see if things have improved. It has a lot of potential. If it's still in this condition drive up the street to Martin' Supermarket in Heritage Square and get bigger donuts and drinks for cheaper. read more

Open the dining area! Nobody wants to wait in line for over 30 min for a few donuts because the line is 20 cars deep due to the inside being closed. So when I was in South Bend and noticed the brick and mortar store I had to stop by. The hot light was drawing me in like a moth to a flame. It takes way too long to cash out when there are five people working and MAYBE 3-4 people in the establishment total. Also although they have great donuts they are quite small when you can just go to Martins and get one that is almost just as good for half the price and twice the size. Thank god for Krispy Kreme and it's small donuts. Their lack of filling (at least for the filled ones) and small size are just what my diet needs. My wife enjoys these half donuts. So airy that they are barely there. After having one, you've forgotten you've eaten one. This is a way to scratch an itch and not get a better donut from one of the many better bakeries in the area like Rise and Roll, Dainty Maid, Country Bake Shop, Martins. You get the idea. The Hot Light was on, but no more free donuts. We live an hour away from South Bend, and every time we have a shopping day at the mall, we always stop at Krispy Kreme on the way home and get a box of mixed donuts, along with a hot free donut right off the line (when the light is on). Imagine my surprise when we stopped by last time only to be told that this location no longer gives out free donuts. Apparently it is not a "rule", and any franchise can decide not to give out free donuts when the Hot Light is on. The owner of this franchise decided, after years of the tradition, to stop honoring the free donut Hot Light policy. Is it a sore spot? Yes, obviously. It's what Krispy Kreme is known for. Most people ONLY stop because the Hot Light is on, and then leave with bags and boxes full of donuts they paid for. I was so hacked that this store randomly decided not to honor tradition and company policy, that we left without buying any donuts. LAME. read more

All of the employees here are really friendly. I like it when people smile while they are at work. The donuts and coffee are great too. This location also does so much to help the students in the area raise funds for experiences they otherwise would not be able to have due to their socioeconomic status. Great place to be! read more

Awful, I came for a free doughnut because the light was on and guess what? No free doughnut. These Krispy Kremers didn't even know how to make Iced Coffee. As an aside here's a quick way to make iced coffee; First, put ice in cup, then pour coffee blend on top, one or two pumps of whipped cream and wallah. Krispy Kreme was one of my favorite places to go in the Twin Cities but in 2008, Krispy Kreme left Minnesota and I was deeply saddened by this. 5 years later while on vacation, I saw a Krispy Kreme with the hot & fresh light on and decided to stop here for breakfast. 5 Years Later, it is still delicious and pure sugar bliss. Well my lovely wife and I avoid this tourist trap usually but, my kids wanted Krappy Krum donuts for whatever reason this Easter Sunday at 10 am 4-1-18. So we go in too look at the selection and stand at the display case waiting....and we wait.....meanwhile the ditz at the drive thru keeps staring at us but continues to box donughts for the drive thru. You think, because shes 15-20 ft away, she Could say somthing helpful, you know like "someone will be with you shortley" or "Ill be with you as soon as i can" no we got a stupid, blank, stare from a disconnected, disengaged, teenager who was not being properly supervised or trained. So we waited, the drive thru zombie stared, and after about 5-6 minutes a women came out of the back room. With no greeting, no welcome, no apology just a irritated look on here face. She squeaked out " what can i get for you?". Almost like we were wasting her precious time! We will not make this mistake twice. Martins doughnuts are about 1/2 the price. Just as good, and about 1/3 larger with more filling and the employees make you feel welcome, at home, and appreciated. With locations all over town your guaranteed to get great doughnuts with great treatment. Krusty Krum is hype, its for overpaid Grangertypes who have more money then cents. Stopped in to purchase a dozen donuts tonight. While paying for these we asked for our free donuts since the red ready light was on. Imagine our surprise when told they do not offer free donuts any more. I fully understand the policy change as many times that we gave been in there, although they were crowded, we were the only ones actually making a purchase.
