After I ordered, he brought me a shot of ouzo. Haven't had this in a while. After the meal, another shot of ouzo found its way to my table. The rump steak was good. It had a garlic butter sauce on top, but otherwise, not as flavorful as I'd prefer. The shining point was the staff. They came to my table several times judt to talk. My vegan friend is often challenged finding food and this evening was no different. They also delivered the wrong dish to me. I found this interesting since we ordered by number. They made good and brought me some separate lamb chops later. Sadly the chops weren't what I hoped for, a bit thin and lacking the hoped for flavor. The rest of the meal was fine with way too much on the plate. They offered more ouzo at the end as a form of further compensation but I declined. Like many places in Weiden they were busy with holiday parties and those coming in from the Christkindlmarkt. Plan accordingly. The pita was warm and soft. The tzatziki sauce was cool and tangy. And, all these rich flavors were cut beautifully by the slices of raw onion. I could give or take the rice but with so any other wonderful things on the plate, it was no big deal to just leave the rice uneaten.
