It's a lovely, light space with huge windows and a rustic but modern interior. There's a shared kitchen and sitting space, and lots of options for small business owners and freelancers looking for shared office space. There are a few tiers of membership, including small offices (approx 1-4 desks), set desk space which you can rent, and a rover membership which allows you to hot desk - ie. sit at whichever desk space is free when you arrive. There's also a conference room which members can rent out. Most memberships include some monthly allowance for conference room time by appointment and some printing. I had a rover membership for 3 months, which at the time was priced at $100/month. I really enjoy the space and the desks are great. All uniform, nice and wide with ample depth to work in too, a desk lamp, and a set of drawers underneath where you can store your things while you're there and lock up temporarily if you want to leave things safely inside while you go out to lunch or meetings. The office manager was friendly and helpful. The only things keeping me from using the space at the moment are: The price - it's considerably more expensive than Hashtag, though it is a considerably nicer space too. The community - it's still early days and there aren't a lot of people to network with yet, at least there weren't when my initial membership ended. The construction on Fulton Mall - it's not a pleasant space to get in and out of at the moment, though I'm sure this will vastly improve once the construction is finished. So, to conclude, I love this place in theory, but it wasn't quite working for me in practice at the moment. But I do plan to re-join once the Fulton Mall is finished and my work schedule allows me to make it downtown more often.

My progress had stalled working at home. Vocal warmups, ear training, time-in for composition, experimenting at volume, etc. 'just never worked well' at home. Similarly, being 'out on an island' renting commercial space within earshot of contractors, accounting offices, chiropractic, etc - would inevitably result in me having to accommodate, rearrange schedules, set-up tear-down my gear, compromising... I don't feel alone and out numbered, but I also feel understood and respected when I and my art need some distance. I moved in February 1st, excited to start my journey back to music…read more I knew I was going to miss a couple weeks, and ended up moving in late on February. The first night, I already could tell this was a waste of money. I was sandwiched between two loud producers, one of which a non-black rapper constantly saying the n word in his music. He also said it outside in the hall. (A white man) I am a lifelong musician, loud rehearsal neighbors aren't new to me- but what bothers me is that this studio is not actually a studio. They are office buildings. There is absolutely NO noise isolation and to top that off, the door I had was broken. After 5 min of my walls rumbling from both sides with absolutely no insulation to soften the blow, so loud my head was throbbing - I realized the lockout owners were likely cash grabbers with no passion for sound. Very different from Sac Rehearsal and the other one off El Camino where you at least get SOME LEVEL of isolation and professional attempts at noise reduction. On top of that- I was offered a tour with a measly $100 off my next room selection. When I attempted to reschedule the tour, their only available hours to do so were 10A-2:45P, Mon-Fri, which as you might expect - will not work for 90% of people who can afford rehearsal studios. When I finally was able to schedule a time, they canceled for a family emergency and rebooked for Monday the 24th, leaving me a measly 7 days of a potential rehearsal experience. When I brought this to their attention, they nastily retorted, "well you've had access to the space the whole time!" A space with no noise isolation that is entirely impossible to think in, let alone rehearse in. Save your money- even if you're a mile away like I am, it's better to go to House of Hits. Even Sac Rehearsal. The only benefit of this place is the "safe" location- but it's really built with no regards to musicians and the customer service is built equally as shitty.

She was unnecessarily rude when my sister and I came to finish glazing our pieces during studio hours after coordinating with my instructor. She speaks to you in a very dismissive tone and makes you feel unwelcome, I understand we are not members however to treat potential members this way is unprofessional. Karen made the atmosphere so gross and unwelcoming that we chose to simply leave the studio without glazing our pieces because she seemed to have an issue with everything we did. I wont ever consider joining or recommend this studio to anyone simply because of this unfortunate interaction with Karen.

As the coordinator of a Latinx pop…read moreup market in the Central Valley, I experienced very unprofessional and rude behavior from Kat, the centers manager. Not only did I experience this behavior but also several of the Latinx vendors that were present that day at the event. They felt so unwelcome and experienced such rude and unprofessional behavior they expressed they would not vend at the MAC in the future. I have coordinated many events in various multicultural centers, art galleries and private venues and have never encountered the level of unprofessionalism that I encountered at this location. After the event, I messaged the executive director of the center to explain my experience and that of the vendors. My message was completely ignored, further convincing me they do not care about the experience of those who visit, attend and participate in events at the center.
