I can't say enough good things about Kraynak's! I needed a custom flower arrangement for my daughter with several special requirements. They were so patient about avoiding flowers that are toxic to cats and really took the time to understand what I was looking for. Even though they don't typically carry dark or gloomy arrangements, they worked with what my daughter loves -- sunflowers and the color green -- and created something truly unique. They added little green gems to the sunflower centers and tied it all together with a giant green bow. My daughter was over the moon when she received it. This is a tough one. I had such high expectations and I'm not sure they were met. Admittedly, my mistake was going on a weekend. It was way too packed and the clientele was pushy and rude. We stood in the freezing cold outside on a half hour line (my second mistake) and watched people cut in the line right before us when we got inside and up to the entrance of the Christmas animatronic section. For example, a family that started with 3 or 4 people ultimately allowed their warm, toasty family of 20 to cut, pushing past everyone else who had waited outside in the long, cold line. Not cool. No employees are really here to monitor this, so it basically gets ignored. The animatronics were very cute. No doubt about that. The selection of other items at the store was vast and there was a huge variety. The organization of the store seemed a little scattered and disorganized, although I'm sure there was a method to it all. We bought a couple ornaments and a dinosaur for my son. None of it was particularly cheap, so I guess you indirectly pay for those animatronics that everyone is jumping the line to see. read more

Amazing, amazing, amazing Christmas store!!! I went as a kid and loved it and now I had the chance to take my daughter today and she LOVES it. Initially when we went, there was no parking which was frustrating. There was a long line outside. But it's worth the wait! And I made my own parking spot. Lol The line for Santa was long too. Santa gave out a roll of smarties. It was only 3 so I let her eat them. I snapped some pics of her on Santa and the two women taking the pics said I "have to buy at least one since I took photos with my phone." Kind I'd rude. If you're looking for an over-the-top yet overpriced credit card nightmare of a place, Kraynak's is quite the special treat for you and your whole family. Getting lost is part of the journey, which makes hours feel like minutes there. However, this store has more plastic Christmas trees than Pennsylvania has real ones, putting the real plants there hard at work to purify the air for the shoppers and screaming toddlers. This place is unreal. My wife has family in the area, and raves every year around Christmas and Easter about Kraynak's (pronounced locally as Kra-ni-aks.) We have friends here in the Cincinnati area with ties to, or who grew up in eastern Ohio/ western PA who all rave about this place as one of their greatest childhood memories. This year, I got to experience the hype. The weekend before Thanksgiving we headed to Sharpville to gather with family and made the pilgrimage to Kraynak's. As I noted before, this place is unreal. First, it is essentially and oversized gift shop/ toy store/ greenhouse. I'm not even sure that describes it correctly. I have taken to referring to it as the stocking-stuffer capital of the world. Toys, toys and more toys. Little kid toys and big boy toys, this place has a little of everything. There are toys there. I honestly don't think you can find anywhere else. There is candy- loads of candy. They have model trains, too. From the cheap to the classic Lionels to the models that cost more than your car (well, close anyway) they have one of the coolest collections of model trains. There are candles and other smelly things and who's its and what's its galore. The store was truly sensory overload. As cool as all of that stuff was, it wasn't at all the reason people really go there. It like the gift shop at the exit of the museum. The real reason the parking lot is packed solid this time of year is the Christmas display. (They also have a similar display around Easter.) When I say display I actually mean a Christmas tree extravaganza. I'm not even sure that word is big enough to describe this affair. People stand in line, that stretches around the inside and then outside and down a huge ramp in front of the store, in the cold, for hours to gaze upon this truly one-of-a-kind display. You walk through a back hall of the building lined with tree after tree after tree decorated to nearly every theme imaginable, ones you know and others you wished you thought of. The line moves incredibly slow, and yet you still can't take it all in. You want to want in line again (yep, hours more in the cold) just to try and see what you missed. Check the pics out if you don't believe. The coolest part- you can own anything you see there. After exiting the extravaganza, you enter the Christmas decoration shop, where everything you just saw is available for sale. Better, yet, fall in love with that Cindylou Who silver glitter flocked Christmas tree in the display area, just buy the whole thing, tree ornaments and all (The trees were all being offered at 50% off on this particular day.) The amount of work to put this display together is incredible. I'm so glad I don't work there and would have to tear it down. Never heard of Sharpville, PA? Well you are missing out. Forget the same old drive-thru light displays that yours and every other town has this time of year and charges $25 a car to drive through. Take a drive into the countryside of western PA and walk through the Christmas Wonderland at Kraynak's... for free. You'll come back every year thereafter. Your kid's will talk about it the rest of their lives. Seriously. read more

This place reminds me of a 5&10 store in the Buffalo area called Vidler's. It is one of those places where there are rooms and rooms full of "stuff" that no one actually needs but that you end up wanting. Tons of Christmas decorations and displays for sale in every theme you can imagine. Sports merchandise, toy and collectible trains, toys and games, books, tons of novelty items. It was a blast just looking through aisle after aisle of useless stuff. And Christmas lane - what fun! I was a little kid again looking at animated Sesame Street characters, Coke Bears and other fun novelties moving around, skating, fishing, etc. When we first arrived at the store, the line was too long to go in, but by about 8:30, there was no line. I recommend going at opening or closing if you want to see the Christmas displays with no line. This was my first time in the store and I have no doubt I'll make an annual tradition out of a visit there. read more

Very interesting place. The Christmas displays are lovely. It'd be great if it was larger! Reminds me of a place in frankenmuth Michigan but smaller. The amount and variety of toys they have in this place rivals most toy stores. I wish they had the aisles set up according to the tree set ups for the ornaments so you could style a tree like the ones on display. So many ornaments to choose from Including mercury glass ones. This is a true Christmasland! My parents took me here as a child, I take my son here annually. A great holiday tradition to add to your family traditions. This is a greenhouse/gift shop that turns into a gigantic Christmas store and holiday walkthrough. They sell everything from toys, holiday decorations, plants, lights, candies, books, ornaments, Christmas trees, and the list goes on and on. The real draw is the Christmasland walkthrough. You walk through an area that has different size rooms featuring different themes that are completely immersed in that theme, some offering diffusers with scents that accompany the theme and animated characters. Each room has multiple fully decorated incredibly beautiful Christmas trees that I recently found out they are for purchase at an enormous discount that you can pick up in the new year. Did I mention that it's free admission? It can be busy on the weekends leading up to Christmas so be prepared for a line. We usually make a day out of our trip here since it's a little bit of a drive. There is a giant chocolate store/gift shop down the road called Daffins and there are multiple restaurants in the area to eat at. read more

I cannot say enough about this place...I mean yes they have a great kids toys department, they are known for their plants and outdoor decorations, and pick a holiday they have the decor-but truly for me this place IS a working breathing live childhood memory. Kraynacks is well known for Christmas Tree Lane - 300 feet of decorated bliss getting folks ready to welcome Santa or the Christ child depending on which side you are more inclined - they have trees and "sets" all to enjoy. Many a times we would wait in a line wrapped around the building to partake...last week I was told they have an Easter Bunny Lane now! This place outdoes itself every year! This easter bunny land even pumped in fragrance of frosted cupcake so that the air was a sweet as a decorations. I mean how better to explain to kids house spring really comes in Easter Bunny brings it! And Kraynacks brought it! This is my first time seeing Easter bunny Lane and more importantly the first time I've taken my kids as last year for Christmas tree Lane they were still too small. If you were a kid in the 1970's and lived within 40 miles of Hermitage, PA, you know all about the Kraynak's Christmas Lane. And if you have kids today, you gotta take them to see the trees. This was a yearly tradition for me and my sisters. Imagine a nursery in the winter in the north. Business prospects are a little meager. Solution; cash in on Christmas. Kraynak's does it well with a long lane of artificial Christmas trees, fully decorated, in different themes. The decorations are well done. In addition, the store is converted into a Chinese Christmas decoration bazaar. They have loads of cheap ornaments, cheesy outdoor "scenes" and of course all the trees and decorations that they display in the Lane. It's free and they're open 9-9 daily, 10-5 on Sunday. The kids will eat up the visual overload, and if you're in the market for an artificial tree, their prices are hard to beat. So, if you're anywhere in the area around the holidays, hit this place with the kiddies. PS, if you're hungry, Combine Brothers is just south on PA 18, before you get to I-80. read more

The customer is always wrong at this place! A very unhelpful and unknowledgeable staff with terrible customer relations and service. When installing a home orchard they gave me incorrect information more than once. Twice they sold me fruit trees that were incompatible or non-pollinators with each other meaning they would never bare fruit. Even though they admitted to the mistake they were unwilling to rectify their $36 error, so because of this shameful business decision they are forcing me to write this review. Kraynak's should not be allowed to sell fruit trees, for they know nothing about the subject! read more

Ah, good old Kraynak's. Few things take me back to my childhood faster than a trip to Christmas Tree/Easter Bunny Lane. This place even smells the same as it did when I was a kid in the 80s. I can't lie, the service here is often less than stellar. The toy selection is meh. However, I think we all know why we go out of our way to visit year after year. It's not to buy toys (though we usually do end up getting at least one), it's not to buy plants (though the greenhouse always has plenty of gorgeous plants to choose from), it's not to buy Christmas decor (though they have just about anything you could ever want, in every theme imaginable). The nostalgia factor is high here, and honestly, that's why I bring my own child back every year. If you grew up in western PA or northeast OH, it's tradition. read more

They said 20 minutes so we stopped came back Got back in line waited about a 1/2 hour and the bunny went on break again. The only reason that I don't give this a five is because the merchandise prices are extremely high in my opinion. They do have some wonderful holiday ornaments and flowers and plants that are decently priced, but the toys are priced very high. My family has a yearly tradition to go here, not to shop, but to go through their animated wonderland. It's free, and it never fails to disappoint. There are some insanely creative displays, and each new one is full of fun. It's worth waiting in line to see, and there's so much to look at. It's always fun to take $20-50 too and try to find something that's unique for someone. It's a great store, and it's worth the yearly trip. Oh what a wonderful little (big) Christmas land! I've always heard of this place but have never been. It looks like a normal sized building from the outside but the aisles are endless! They have everything you could possibly image. Toys, tools, plants, home goods, etc. Great place to look for Christmas gifts. I had seen a new type of Christmas lights on a tree in another store months ago and could not find out the name of the lights anywhere, I found them at Kraynak's! My friend did a search for them on amazon after we knew what they were called and found them cheaper, even with the 30% marked at Kraynak's though so that was a little disappointing and made me wonder if items were just marked up. If you go after Christmas everything is a percentage off, even the fully decorated trees that you can purchase in the Christmas land, and it's not as busy if you go after Christmas. I believe they are open year round with other seasonal displays as well. The Christmas displays were so beautifully decorated. My son loved it as well. I'm not sure how I never made it to this place before but I will definitely make it a point to go back. read more

Oh, Kraynak's. You are so weird and so wonderful and such a part of my Christmas history I will fight to get to you every year. This place is like walking into a time capsule of the 1970's - nothing has changed since then, except for more stuff and newer items. I swear the same people have been working there since that time. We ventured out this morning to try Breakfast at Tiffany's and since we were in the area stopped by Kraynak's. The line stretched out into the parking lot and we could tell it snaked around inside too as there was a sign by the door that said, "15 minute wait from here". We ended up waiting about a half hour to get into the display. The display itself was really fun, marred only by the folks that decided to cut in line behind us and then proceed to have their grandchild complain the entire time about how he didn't want to go through. The little kids in front of us more than made up for it as they had such a good time. My husband and I are kids at heart so we had fun seeing the displays too! The store itself has a bit of everything, toys, candy, holiday decorations, you name it. I see another reviewer said it is like Vidler's in Buffalo - I'm from Buffalo and disagree, Vidler's is more upscale but doesn't have as much variety as Kraynak's does. read more

Kraynak's is much more than a Greenhouse and Flower Boutique. The difference is like the comparing a street flower vendor to a major florist center. This is the place to go to get your holiday sprit a boost and look at the hundreds and hundreds of Christmas trees that they have from the standard 5 foot tall plain jane Christmas tree to a fully decorated tree with a major theme that looks like the technical people from Disney World had spent a month working on the technical stuff. They have a huge room where you can see various themes for the trees, including all the surrounding music, angels, lights, ribbons, bulbs and tinsel! It is a must see before your Christmas season begins! Oh! and they have hundreds of thousands of things to put on your Christmas tree, walls, windows, outside and any place else you put your Christmas decorations.
