Burdick, Community Events Specialist, was extremely disappointing and stressful. Christopher was very disorganized and created a great deal of stress for us at the last minute. There was significant confusion and poor communication regarding documents that had already been submitted electronically to Tracy. We were repeatedly asked for paperwork that had already been provided, which made the entire process unnecessarily complicated. The parking situation on the day of the event was especially frustrating. If the venue is going to be so strict about paperwork and procedures, they should also have a clear and organized system for vendor parking. Parking spaces were not numbered, making it extremely difficult for nearly 20 vendors to know where they were supposed to park. The parking permits that were supposed to identify authorized vehicles were not properly provided or explained to us in advance. Instead, they were handed out on the day of the event without clear numbering or instructions, creating unnecessary chaos and stress. Even more disappointing, our contract stated that vendor setup would begin at 1:00 PM, yet the doors were not opened until approximately 2:00 PM. Nearly 20 vendors were left outside in the rain with all of their equipment and supplies for about an hour, unable to enter and begin setting up. This caused significant delays and affected our event schedule. It is very disappointing that such a beautiful venue can have such poor organization and communication. Instead of making the experience easier for their clients, the process felt unnecessarily stressful because of excessive paperwork requirements, lack of communication, and a lack of practical assistance when problems occurred. The venue itself is beautiful, but unfortunately, the organization and customer service we experienced were not acceptable. I sincerely hope management reviews these procedures and improves communication, vendor access, parking organization, and staff coordination for future events.

The hotel is always spotless, and everyone I've interacted with has been welcoming and genuinely friendly. There's a lovely café and restaurant on the property, perfect for a coffee break or a meal. If you visit during the holidays, don't miss their Christmas decorations. The pink-themed Christmas tree is stunning and fits the hotel's style perfectly. I also love that if you're celebrating a birthday, the café can write a personalized birthday message right on top of your drink--such a thoughtful little touch. The Colony has its own unique style and atmosphere. Whether you're staying here or just stopping in for coffee, it's definitely worth a visit.

However, when we arrived and room choices were still a bit limited, the Colony made a wonderful and significant upgrade for us and we could not be more appreciative. From the time you're greeted by the bellmen, to the check-in process, the employees could not be more friendly and accomodating. The bartenders are long time employees, and very nice folks. The servers too are great. Management has done a fantastic job creating a welcoming atmosphere where one feels right at home. The restaurant, Swifty's, is excellent. Breakfast poolside is always nice. Early riser? Coffee and a choice of newspapers are alway waiting for you. Take it outside by the pool and have a quiet morning before starting the day. I have a couple of names to call out. The Bellman, KEVIN was amazing at recommendations. He spoke to us with a tone of authenticity as if we were genuine friends. He provided a list of suggested restaurants based on our interests and always offered us refreshments. Likewise at the front desk, we spoke with Jacob & Velouse who were able to accommodate us with a room with a great view. They were very helpful. And one more callout is the driver of the complementary shuttle, who was also very friendly and even helped us out when we left a shoe at our last location and did a U-turn for us The pool has limited seating space.
