Beka is a rare find. I didn't expect our child to learn more with our first one hour private lesson…read morewith coach Beka than the 5 hrs of private lessons he had taken with another coach (not affiliated with Beka Tennis Academy) . We were looking for an after school class to complement his private lessons and decided to give Beka a try to see if he would be a nice fit for our family. And after the group classes we have decided that for our son's benefit it would be best to only learn with coach Beka and, do the private lessons as well as the group classes only with him. We have invited our son's friends and they have all loved their classes and asked to come back . My husband and I are also planning to join the adult group classes. What we love about Beka is that he is fun and at the same time rigorous. The kids love him, but he still finds a way to instill discipline while fostering their love for tennis. Beka is not only a very talented coach, but he is a family man, as well as a great human being. Maia the academy coordinator, is amazing as well. She responded to our emails promptly and it was a breeze to communicate and schedule the lessons. The clay courts are nice , surrounded by trees across from a Country Club. The surroundings are peaceful. Can't wait to see our son grow as a Tennis player and as an even better human with Beka as his coach and mentor.

Beka is very patient and has the ability to quickly identify and fix problem areas in your game. I think one of Beka's strengths is the ability to make tennis fun. He knows when to be strict with a student and when to ease off so as not to turn someone off from the game he has so much love and passion for.

The school itself is flexible with the schedule and if you miss a class you can easily get back in the same week by communicating with the front desk. The class does take place in an open gymnastics warehouse, so if you're not used to other classes happening at once -this is normal for these type of environments. Classes are typically small 2-8 kids, but sometimes they can be a bit crowded due to weather conditions for example up coming snowstorm etc. These type of environments do require you as a parent to communicate your needs more, so if you're not comfortable with doing something or do not know what to do, it's best you ask the coach for support. The coach's are very helpful, and great with kids. They typically walk around the class to help but they also stand by stations within the obstacles that need the most assistance with mastering a skill. When it comes to gymnastics and this age group, you get what you as a parent put in. They require a lot of practice outside of class not just inside the classroom if you really want them to excel. One class a week is good but practice makes perfect and it takes time to get used to the routines being taught. As a former acrobat I approve of this school and program. Coaches have technical knowledge and know how to safely spot.

But based on our limited experience here with two children of different ages and genders, we really like this place. Class sizes are small. We've found Nastia to be excellent at engaging the very young children. Our kids always walk away happy, with the littlest one telling us unprompted that, "I love gymnastics!" Our older child comes out of his "ninja / parkour" class very sweaty, very happy, and very braggy about all his exploits. Two ringing endorsements from those in the know. There's a small play area by the front desk, which we think is a very thoughtful touch. We like the windows in the back and in the front, where we can spy on our kids and chuckle at our older one doing the worm -- or pushups as he calls them. (It'd be even better if they had one-way glass, but that's a minor nitpick.) Other than us, the parents there seem normal / fine. Our daughter has learned and grown so much from these instructors in just half a year. The studio is clean, well taken care of, decorated nicely and nicely maintained. We like that the classes are a full hour and there are a variety of activities so that it is not the same redundant class each week. They vary from working on the balance beams, bars, floor and trampolines. They are also very flexible if you miss a class and let you make it up by attending their open gym sessions on Friday evenings, so that makes it very convenient for us. We can't wait to continue on at Kinetic Kids for many years to come. If you are looking to enroll your child in gymnastics, we highly recommend this place!

If I am getting late in the morning, then my son usually tells me - Let's go Mommy, I am going to miss all the fun. Miss Jen and Miss Joanne, directors at Norwalk Tutor time, are very proactive. They are planning different themes for summer camps where children will learn about different countries and their cultures. I am really excited about it.
