I had some deferred maintenance and a wisdom tooth that needed to be removed and he answered all of my questions about what I needed and pricing. I had done my research and called around prior to choosing Seaglass and found their pricing to be extremely fair. I was able to fill out my information through a patient portal link that was immediately texted to my phone which I found to be convenient. When I walked into the office the next morning, I was greeted by a warm and friendly smile at reception and a very clean and modern lobby that reassured me that I was in the right place. They showed me around their office and you could see that they were proud to have the latest and greatest equipment. I have seen some surprisingly antiquated medical/dental offices down here in South Florida so this was a relief to me. The dental technician was extremely professional and charming as well. She took my xrays and then took me to the room where she reviewed my history and examined my teeth to begin coming up with a game plan. At that point, Dr. Schmitt walked in with a smile and introduced himself. You could tell that every person in this clinic truly loves their job and cares about their patients. I am not a fan of going to the dentist so this made me feel much better about being there. I had a time constraint that would not allow me to complete the procedure that day so they were able to schedule me the very next morning. I walked in the next morning a little nervous about the procedures and was greeted by the same kind smiles. They gave me a menu of things they can bring me such as water and a blanket and then asked me what movie I would like to watch while having my procedure. I chose an Ocean documentary because the ocean has always had a calming effect on me. The little details that they focus on to comfort clients is a game changer. I was extremely impressed by Dr. Schmitt's level of proficiency during the procedures. He was diligent in monitoring my pain level and keeping it to an absolute minimum. He was focused and efficient and the results were fantastic. I called the office after hours with a question about my aftercare and Dr. Schmitt answered the phone on the second ring, ready to answer any questions that I had. I'm so glad to be rid of my wisdom tooth and my gums are already feeling 100% better from the scaling and root planing. I will definitely be a lifelong client of Seaglass and I would highly recommend giving them a try and seeing for yourself.

On the day of my appointment, as soon as I walked in, the receptionist immediately asked for my credit card and held it. I was so confused. He saw my expression and said, "Well, how will you be paying?" -- as if I was going to run off without paying. Is it because I'm a minority? Huge red flag. RACIST. I clearly stated I didn't have insurance -- do you think I would come in if I wasn't prepared to pay? I felt cornered. I was in pain and desperately needed help with my tooth, so I gave him my credit card. He also held on to my ID. I filled out nine pages of paperwork. Looking around the office, I noticed they offered Invisalign. I laughed to myself, wondering how they'd even try to market that to me when I was only there for some tooth pain. Turns out, I was wrong. When I was finally called in, the doctor and assistant were nice -- but instead of actually trying to help me, knowing I had no insurance, they just took X-rays and pictures (without telling me the cost or asking me to approve anything). Then they tried to upsell me, saying "a quick fix isn't going to cut it" and that my bite was unhealthy -- and that I needed Invisalign. Red flag number two. In my head, I felt cornered again. I knew I wasn't going to get help for the issue I came in for. She just kept talking, trying to sell me whatever she could. I wanted to cry and go home. So I just nodded and agreed. She handed me a $2,650 treatment plan -- knowing I had no insurance. Then they charged me $265 for the X-rays and pictures without telling me beforehand. I felt trapped and said "okay" -- and then they ran my card themselves and only asked me to sign after the charge, when they returned my ID and card. I've never been treated like this at any other practice. I went home still in pain, and my husband was furious. Thank you very much for the heartless treatment today. This place is a complete waste of time -- RACIST, heartless, and only trying to upsell. STEER CLEAR. Unless you're rich and white -- maybe then they won't hold your card hostage.

Prior to entering the office this morning, I was quoted $875 after insurance for a crown/core buildup from their office staff over the phone. Today, the day of my appointment the manager slaps a paper in front of my face saying that the new price is hundreds more and to sign the paper authorizing this and a total charge of $2300 insurance included. Since I did not plan to pay more than $875, I asked why the price was different than what I was quoted over the phone. The manager stated that "this is what they charge" and the doctor makes his own quotes and someone probably told me that without checking. This portion I understand but it was the subsequent follow up that was shockingly inappropriate in my opinion. In so few words the manager basically stated that, because I couldn't tell her who I directly spoke with on the phone, the miss quoted price was essentially my fault. Furthermore, after discussing it with the dentist, her exact words were " he doesn't want to argue with you, he'll take off the additional charge" Mind you, there was no arguing before this. Purely an inquiry as to why the price went up 150% from my originally quoted price. Also, keep in mind that other reviews mention the same type of behavior. I am also wondering who speaks to an office staff member weeks in advance and remembers an exact time and name of who they spoke to? My boyfriend proceeded to ask a question and she immediately told him to shut up by basically saying she doesn't have to speak to him due to HIPPA. We are both Medical professionals and are very understanding of HIPPA and this is why I can say confidently that it was not applicable at all. As somebody who works in the medical field in one of the major hospitals here, I am shocked by the behavior of this office manager towards the patients. In fact, I wish I could tell you the amount of times she said to my face how she "doesn't care" that somebody else gave us a quote or about any of my other concerns. You NEED to care if you are in the health field, period. This was the worst way I've ever been treated and just for asking a question. It seems they may take advantage of too many people on a daily basis and get upset when it's questioned. Sad part is, I still would've paid the up charge until the manager started raising her voice with me. I left due to the simple concern that she behaved this way over a question, and I couldn't imagine if anything actually did go wrong with a procedure. Considering the questionable billing practices, the awful patient experience with the office manager, and the cookie cutter approach to treatment I would just stay away from this place.
