I've been taking my child to Dr. Okonkwo for about 5-6 years now. Yes, at times she can be…read moreassertive and critical, but I trust her professional judgment because I understand that she is only prioritizing the child's health needs. Being a physician does not mean one needs to be "friends" with the patient's parents. This is not to say that she is rude or unprofessional, because she is not. She spends a lot of time with the parent and the child during the appointment and I have never felt rushed out. I also like that she addresses diet, exercise, and other environmental factors in her approach. She educates the parent which is so important. In regards to other comments I've read about billing, everything has always been explained to me prior to treatment and I have never had an issue. The staff has never been rude to me or my child. Patients need to be responsible for understanding how their own insurance policies work. It's not fair to damage someone's professional reputation and business online out of spite because you were unaware of your financial obligation. At the end of the day even the doctor has their own employees and overhead to pay to keep their lights on and their practice doors open.

I'm very disappointed with this office. This is a new location which is nearby my home. I decided…read moreto give this office a try as I was looking for a new primary care physician for my child. Our first appointment was fine. Dr. Margaret Okonkwo was very nice and attentive to my child's need. I did not like that they did not have a lab onsite but it is what it is. A second appointment was set. When I attended the next appointment, the front staff advised that I needed to pay $100 towards my deductible. I asked her why didn't she tell me this over the phone especially since we've spoken several times to confirm and possibly reschedule. She told me that I should know that I have a deductible. I explained to her other providers I've taken my child to would submit the claim to insurance and IF there is a financial responsibility, I am billed for it. The lady told me that's not how they do it there. They request $100 in advance and then bills insurance. If a credit is owed, they would refund me. I think that this practice is really shady and prioritizes the payment over the treatment patient of care. Needless to say, we were not seen. I definitely will not be returning and seeking another provider. I am more annoyed that they are a participating provider with my insurance company. This could have all been avoided had I been made away of their policy.

Dr. Williams was friendly, it was our first visit so we shall see how the care is. Upon my…read moreobservation during our first visit, I'm a bit concerned about sanitation of the clinic, as I had to ask the nurse to sanitize a room after another family had just left out. This bothers me because we're clearly in a whole pandemic and taking necessary precautions to make sure it doesn't spread (which means sanitizing after each patient visits) is imperative. The office is a bit noisy too. The receptionist has to push around chairs that scrubs the floor, the doors shut heavy making a loud boom sound every time you close one (startled my baby). The hallway space is small and they are asking that patients wait in the hallway... this would be idea if the hallway was bigger and allowed for social distancing. I was very uncomfortable having my newborn wait in a hallway as people brushed passed us due to the limited space. I think they should have patients wait in their cars if they are not ready for them at their appointment time. They also appear to be short of staff, every time I call I'm put on hold for a long time, I mentioned to the receptionists the second time it happened... all they can do is apologize... I accept that... for now... We will be back soon for a follow up, I like Dr. Williams and hopefully my concerns are addressed
