Rik the owner initially showed us our room which was the terrapin station "Grateful Dead" room. He was kind enough to explain the inns and outs of certain things throughout the room such as the record player and taking off our shoes to maintain the wellness of the space. Once we were settled in he offered us a complimentary locally sourced beverage of our choice. During our stay we genuinely enjoyed every second of it. It wasn't as big as I expected, but they had all of the slot machines I enjoy playing, so I was happy with the selection. I also appreciated how clean everything was. I constantly saw employees wiping down the machines, and the ventilation system does a good job of keeping the casino from feeling overly smoky, even though smoking is allowed. On the downside, the non-smoking room still smelled like cigarette smoke, which was disappointing. The slot machines also seemed pretty tight during my visit. I wasn't impressed with the rewards program either. New members only receive $5 in free play after signing up for a player's card and spending $10 first, which seems a bit backwards. It would be nice if the free play was available immediately as a welcome incentive.
