Beware...if you buy online, you'll likely be disappointed.  The general hotel pics show water views but the rooms and descriptions don't say which rooms face the water.  I took a chance and I'm now sitting in a room facing the parking lot.  At check-in, I offered to pay more to upgrade to a water view but since I bought it online, they refused to make a change even though they had water-view rooms available and I offered to pay more.  Their response: "Call us directly next time."   Lesson learned...there won't be a next time. Oh - and if you're concerned about security, the external doors at each end of the hotel do not lock.

Despite all the negative reviews here - our experience with Edgewater Inn was a positive one. The room was clean, staff was able to recommend a great place to eat and the shower was steaming hot. Yes, no elevators, the view of the slough and lack of breakfast was a gripe, but at the price point of $124 a night, we actually got our money's worth. The WiFi is solid and we even slept well. If want to eat something organic, try Seacoast Gardens Persephone Cafe, for Farm-to-Table freshness lunch,, in nearby Charleston(photo).

This rating will probably improve post-remodel, but this is the current state of the property. They do not have card readers on the exterior doors leading to the interior corridor, so if you're there before 8 or after 7, you have to go through the lobby, since the doors don't get unlocked unless someone props them open. Even during the day, I had to go to the lobby since the doors weren't unlocked, and the front desk didn't know how to unlock them. Hot water in the northern part of the hotel is virtually non-existent. A couple of cold to lukewarm showers, unless you let the water run 15-20 mins beforehand. Guessing they're messing with the booster pumps and plumbing in the building. Internet at the north end is non-existent. Also, even though we booked a double queen accessible room, none exist at this time, due to the remodel. Apparently, the hotel knows that corporate keeps making these reservations on the website, but they have no way of honoring them. General manager is really helpful, the rest of the front desk staff range from mostly competent to not competent at all. The one person didn't know about the water issues or how to unlock the door. There's also tons of construction debris in the parking lot and the corridor, guessing Choice isn't inspecting as they should. Probably best to skip the Edgewater until they get the remodel done.

Bed that the whole tribe used for a trampoline p

The three stars is for the staff. The front desk agent was really nice super helpful. Everything that you would hope for in that first person that you meet when you walk into a motel. He is usually the night auditor and was out of his element, but he treated us so nice. That's why I gave this place the three stars that I did. He deserves five stars. I hate to rip this place cause it's really not bad but it could be so much better. They just did a remodel and it was really poorly done. I took some pictures. The bathroom sink is just so stupidly done. It's 24 inches or 2 feet wide in a space that's just not big enough for it. That leaves no place to put the stuff you need to brush your teeth and all the other crap you need to do and I'm a man I can't imagine being a girl and trying to do all the weird stuff they have to do here. It's terrible. Why in the world would someone put such a wide sink in a tiny little space? Just ego I guess. It makes no sense at all. I mean at least in a motel six or a super eight they have that stuff figured out. At least the bed in this place is pretty good. Or it was before someone allowed their root of eight or 10 children to jump on it for eight or 10 weeks as a trampoline over the summer. I think it really was a good bet at one time. If you think I'm exaggerating, see the picture. Another issue I've got is that it's two stories and no elevator. There's no accommodation for any handicap. Overall, it's a pretty nice room . It's clean and for 125 bucks. It would be good value if the other things weren't so screwed up. I'm just disappointed as I see such potential here that's just wasted.

Cost to much for a room with no elevator, no free breakfast, and no inroom microwave.

The service was terrible. People got kicked out when they were asking for room to be made. Would not refund them and even called the police

I loved the Itty Bitty Inn so much!!!…read more This is easily the best motel that I have ever stayed at - or even heard of, for that matter. It is, in fact, so much better than the second-best motel that I don't even know what the second-best motel I've been to is! Not only is the Itty Bitty Inn now a must-stay for me on my next trip up the Oregon Coast, but it is so great that it has dramatically increased the likelihood that I will be driving back up the Coast soon. I'm still shocked that the Lonely Planet guide didn't mention it. Rick (the owner) is the coolest. The first thing that he did was give my friend and I a rundown of Coos Bay hotspots. Then he showed us to our beautifully decorated and upholstered rooms - we had the two Tiki-themed rooms, each of which had too much detail to even be done justice by a picture. He proceeded to then pour us complementary beers and directed us to the outdoor patio for lounging and decompression after our trip. I felt like the King of France! I now absolutely need to stay in every one of the rooms for at least a night (there are 5 total, each with a different theme). This is no trivial feat, as apparently new complete redesigns are always in the planning stages. I can't wait to see the place next time I'm in town!!!

Upon arrival we were welcomed with vibrant exterior colors and beautifully detailed murals, bright flowers, clean grounds, a buzzing neon inn sign and the most friendly hosts we could've asked for. The sign in process was personable, friendly, and easy going. The "lobby" offers gifts, drinks, local nik naks and much more! Rik the owner initially showed us our room which was the terrapin station "Grateful Dead" room. He was kind enough to explain the inns and outs of certain things throughout the room such as the record player and taking off our shoes to maintain the wellness of the space. Once we were settled in he offered us a complimentary locally sourced beverage of our choice. During our stay we genuinely enjoyed every second of it. The bed was cozy, records were turning, and relaxation was at a max! Can't express enough how grateful we are to have stumbled upon this lovely establishment. Peace and love brotha!

Bay Bridge Motel - An absolute gorgeous and vintage chair from circa...1972?

I love this hotel!!! Is it dated? Yes but they have started the slow process of of remodeling…read morewhich we all know is very expensive. Our room is large with a fridge and microwave. My bed was so comfortable and I'm use to a heated, waveless waterbed. I slept soundly. The view is killer. Right out on the bay. Every room has a great view and can watch nice sunsets. The grounds are well cared for. I've stayed here one other time and was fortunate to get a reservation. They book up quick. Our Priceline Pre-paid price for 2 nights was $169. Pictures attached pretty much describe our dinky room. 1. Our beautiful view of the bay from the bathroom. Unfortunately the fan didn't work so our exquisite views were horribly limited. 2. A mirror over the sink designed for short people. The mirror is functional as it does reflect just fine. You just have to bend over. 3. A circa... perhaps1972 gorgeous vintage chair most likely refurbished with gorilla tape...perhaps in 1994? I now realize I could have paid a bit more and reserved that luxurious "queen room with sea view" and even gotten a bit more space to walk around the bed. Check-in went smooth. I walked in the small lobby looking for a bell but there is none. Within a minute a dude walked in and gave me an actual metal key. The dude is also the housekeeper and seemed to be out of breath. But he was a nice guy. There was some gagging and coughing from someone next door. Other than that, the main noise was from cars and trucks along highway 101. Thankfully, there were no drunken fights, screams, known drug deals or cops called during our 2-night stay. So why the 2 stars when honestly nothing really went wrong? I suppose I expected a bit more. No...not more like Days Inn or Travel Lodge quality. But a bit more like maybe consider the clientele doesn't value that vintage 1970s taped up chair? The room smell was just...creepy. Like a bad smell where no spray is going to work. Actually, that is why our room doors were open when we arrived LOL. Or maybe consider re-setting the bathroom mirror so anyone over 5'7 doesn't have to bend over? Oh yeah...when you sit on the toilet it reminds me of sitting on my chair in 1st grade. My guess is that this is a vintage toilet from the late 60s. Entertainment: You could probably take a hike up to the top of the McCullough Bridge and watch a ship pass under the bridge or maybe the Coos Bay Railroad swing span bridge that rotates 90 degrees to allow 3 trains-a-week train traffic over the bay. Grub: Hilltop House is nice, but I haven't dinned there since the 80s so take caution. Moms Kitchen is a better bet for breakfast or lunch. Be prepared to wait... If you can't wait, then I suggest the Pancake Mill.
