Booked slots at the Via Ferrata for our family of 7 ranging in age from 18-51. In my mind, I…read morethought the first few levels would be more like hiking on a ledge while clipped in. This is not the case and I saw immediately upon arrival that even level one is high off the ground and requires climbing. Our guide was great as she took us through the training and explained how to use equipment. We all started out on section 2 because she said it seemed to be easier for people scared of heights (I'm terrified). After that five of us did section one then I did section one again while five others did section 3. Intellectually, I could tell it was an extremely safe operation. The guides are like lifeguards, constantly watching what is happening on the wall through binoculars and calling out corrections or suggestions. Still, for me, when on the wall it was hard to get over my fear of falling. It helped not to look down. My entire party was proud of ourselves for trying it and would like to come back again -- perhaps with more rest beforehand. Some of them got partway through section 4 but were tired from earlier running and weightlifting. Overall a great operation and appreciate the picnic tables on the deck where you can watch others while taking a break.

We range from very beginner (me) to an experienced competitive team climber (my kid) to in between (the others), so that wasn't an easy task. But he was encouraging yet challenged us all. It was a great experience. We recommend powering past the last generation website to make your reservation and climb with KRAG.

And they are a ton of fun and really enjoy sharing their passion for climbing and the Red River Gorge. Whether you are an experienced climber or a complete beginner, or are climbing on your own or with your family/friends/party, I highly recommend climbing with KRAG. My brother and I climbed with Brian (one of the co-owners) and had a blast. We didn't have all our gear but KRAG provides everything you'll need for free (shoes, harness, helmet, etc). It rained so much the day we arrived and I was worried we wouldn't be able to climb. But Brian is so knowledgable and knew where all the best spots were that stayed dry. We got to climb so many classic routes, learned new techniques, and had so much fun. Also, one thing to not overlook is KRAG's emphasis on safety. Brian and his team have loads of experience and every certification out there, and it clearly shows. It gets even better. After a day of climbing, we were so hungry and headed back to the Skybridge Station. Turns out, you can enjoy from their amazing selection of local craft beers on tap! To add, they even serve the best hot dogs and quesadillas in town (and some of the best I've ever eaten)! The guys at KRAG are awesome and are the reason our trip to Kentucky and the red river was epic. I can't wait to go again!

The cabin was clean and had lots of things we didn't expect (plenty of cooking utensils, dinnerware, dehumidifier, A/C, etc). The water pressure and hot water were excellent. There's a firepit close to the cabins. Unfortunately, we're city folk and weren't able to get the fire going. Maybe we should have YouTubed it! But it was nice that they had a storage tub full of chairs and a picnic bench. The entrance to the property can be easy to miss because it is at a steep grade, but Wendy and Craig emailed us very specific directions that we printed out and had no problems. Everything was great about our stay. Except for that wasp that wouldn't leave. We also booked a climbing tour through RRO. Dan was our guide and did an awesome job. Highly recommended if you are into climbing but don't have all the gear and/or experience to lead and set.

It has a spacious interior with a variety of routes for bouldering, top rope, auto-belay, and lead climb. The walls are much taller than other gyms I've been to and make the routes much challenging. Some of the grading doesn't seem very consistent. Staff is nice. Kids and adults of all ages are welcome. It's definitely fun to experience it at least once! The day pass is currently $30 per person with all gear rentals included. No price reduction if you bring your own gear. The membership cost is hefty, $100 per month or $80 if prepay... that's close to 1K per person at a minimum. One membership bonus is that all classes are free. If I resume climbing on a regular basis, I might consider shelling out some $$.

The staff were very friendly and detailed on how to get prepared for climbing the wall with the harnesses and also the ins and outs of each level of difficulty. My son loved climbing, as this is definitely his wheelhouse, but not necessarily mine lol. There were numerous walls to climb with the ropes/harnesses utilized and other boulder walls with a harness or rope not used but with a padded flooring under the ways. There is a wall for each level of climber from beginner to seasoned. If you want to try something new or get more practice on your skills, LEF is perfect for you! We will come back soon!

Great professional staff and safety is their #1 priority. Located right in the city, just a short drive to get there. This is the most open cavern I have ever been in and you almost feel like you are in a dark warehouse, it's so big! No "tight" spaces of any kind. Heights might be your issue if that is a concern. If you have any climbing, repelling, spelunking, or exploring experience, this is a "walk in the park" for you. No experience is needed and they take care of everything. All you have to do is zip when you're told. Have fun! Shoutout to Bethany M., an excellent staff member.

Online booking mentions that it is a 2.5hr experience but with a smaller group of 8, it only took 1.5hr for all the zip lines. Overall a very fun experience and great with big groups! The Bad: Do not get the picture package!! The picture is taken at a standing platform after one of the zip lines, not an action shot!! The Ugly: It felt a little sketchy going down the barren hallway. It was a 5 min walk that felt like you were going through an industrial hallway and it just felt out of place to keep going if the signs were not there. On to my next adventure....
