They say there is a first for everything. Yesterday when I went to Chenango supply company on…read moreSusquehanna Street I had such a first-time experience. One of the employees called me names and followed up by threatening me with violence. I was there for the third time too see if my chainsaw had been serviced. The first two visits the promised that it would be taken care of right away. This time they said that the tag didn't mention what was wrong with it. The first time I visited they asked me to write my name and number on a tag. Nobody asked me to fill out the tag with the description of what was wrong. I simply told them that it was leaking gas. Second time I visited we also talked about that it was leaking gas, and they promised to get on it right away. I guess they were getting tired of me asking about the saw. For an employee to escalate personal frustrations to the point where the customer is called names and threatened with physical harm is not only unpleasant but illegal. The fact that it is illegal is probably why the business owner has chosen to deny everything with references to security cameras that only he has seen. Let's hope that changes are being made behind the scenes so that future customers won't be exposed to that kind of behavior.

On my last trip, I was greeted by a nice guy at the door who was able to point me to the correct aisle. When I got to the aisle, it had a little safety gate pulled across (but nobody was stocking shelves). Another employee walked by and offered to open the gate for me. Very friendly, very helpful. Even the guy at checkout was friendly. In Brooklyn, store employees almost never talk to you (even if you address them directly). These types of kind, informed people make me proud to be from the triple cities. Keep it up!
