9/14/19 Today I've completed Armed Citizen: Every Day Carry (EDC) with Defensive and Tactical…read moreApplications (DTA). This is my 3rd consecutive yr completing this class. Each time, the shoothouse is rearranged to accommodate realistic, every day scenarios for students to complete with role players. This is a force-on-force class using UTM munitions. Today we completed 9 scenarios, anything from getting out of your car, going into a store, or just getting home from work. Each scenario encompassed shoot/no shoot decisions with multiple roleplayers involved. This class takes you out of the "square range" shooting paper targets. UTMs feel like getting stung by a wasp too, so even with multiple layers of clothing, it stings every time you get shot. If an armed citizen truly wants to test their knowledge, situational awareness, and shooting ability, please consider taking force-on-force training at the Muncie Threat Assessment Center (MTAC) or at any similar facility near you. I've trained with Defensive and Tactical Applications (DTA) at MTAC for 3 years. I train with multiple other training companies too. While all companies do an excellent job, DTA is the only training company in Indiana providing this reality-based force-on-force training multiple times each year. The property was laid out nicely with paved walking and golf cart trails. The staff was very knowledgeable on the guns they offered, they also had a HUGE selection of shotguns, hand guns, and a few rifles both new and used. Although most of what they offered was out of my price range, they were cheaper than many other gun stores I've been to. If they didn't like the price I threw out to them for the guns, they could have just explained that they couldn't come close to that, but that they could offer a lower amount. Instead the guy, who I think is the owner rudely said, "I don't want either!" And conveyed with his tone to just get them out of his sigh.
