This review was a long time coming but this speaks to the impact that Scott had on my mindset about fitness. My husband and I hired Scott back in May of 2023 for a 12 week personalized, virtual plan. In a perfect world, we could have worked with a trainer in person with access to all sorts of expensive equipment but we're both busy and neither of us really like being in a crowded gym. Scott's online training program seemed like it was the ticket. My goal was to build muscle and core strength. I've always been fit but could never get over the finish line of having a muscular physique. Scott helped prepare a program that used what we had in our home gym and that was personalized to our likes and hobbies. I'm a runner and a cyclist. I didn't want to give those up and I didn't have to. He was thoughtful to craft a plan that fit each of us. The dietary plan coordinated by Lexy was a big part of the puzzle, as well. The plan was challenging but not overwhelming and it was nice to have weekly check ins with Scott for the confidence boost and feedback. By about week 8, I really started to see the difference. I have been training with Scott twice a week for about 18 months now. Scott is just wonderful on so many dimensions. He's very knowledgeable, sociable, and positive. Just all-around a great human being and personal trainer. I was never able to go to the gym consistently for this long on my own, so while I joke with Scott that I still never look forward to a workout with him, he's been able to keep me coming back for more! I also think it's a good value relative to the high priced gyms in this area. I might spend $600/month on training, but I don't need a gym membership. Thus, for a few hundred more than a gym membership I'm able to get personalized training that keeps me accountable to do the workouts. Scott does a nice job of varying the workouts so it doesn't get boring. I have been able to add muscle and improve my physique overall. Wow! What a trainer you are! I started training with Scott around September of last year... Never has he repeated an exercise on me! where does all this knowledge come from?... Perhaps because he has been doing this for over 11 years... That's what we get from a disgruntled engineer! Engineering by by, personal training here we come! I do 30 min sessions with Scott, they are very stimulating, challenging and I have gotten to the place where I can challenge my body and be only somewhat challenged in my body. I have a lifetime of injuries starting from a car accident at age 30 that messed up my neck to falling a few years ago and hurting my back. I had the gym membership and worked out regularly, but would repeatedly injure those areas working out on my own or doing group classes. Not to mention that working at a desk and computer would aggravate my neck and back and lead to chronic pain and migraines. This Gym came highly recommended by a friend and I thought I would give it a try. I met with Scott and Peter (my trainer) who assessed me and recommended that I try out functional training, which Peter specializes in. After being in Physical therapy several times, I knew that functional training was the key to getting strong, increasing my mobility, and reducing the amount of chronic pain in my life --- which was my primary goal. I have been working with Peter and realized I no longer have pain, I have more energy and better posture, and that our workouts evolve, because I am stronger than I have ever been and my new goal is to do 1 proper push up and pull up. I have lost 10 lbs as a side effect of my renewed health and the best part, I haven't had a migraine for over 3 months. I do a combination of weight training, kettle bell and body weight exercises, and also work on balance exercises. Peter asks every work out - how I'm feeling, and if one day my body is tight or stiff in an area, we do special exercises to relieve that tension and loosen up those areas by relieving pressure points, just like my Physical Therapist would do. It is really hard to decide where to start with this one. I have trained with Scott on and off for quite some time now. He is unlike most personal trainers in the sense that he REALLY listens to what you want. Butt more toned? Legs thinner? Arms bigger? Anything. He doesn't just make you sweat, he works you out in order to get the results that you actually want. Aside from that, I am a really busy professional so his 30 min sessions were key for me! He is also really honest with what you should be eating and HOW to eat. The other thing I really liked is that whenever I would come early or stay late I would peek in, and he would be training others differently than how he trains me, which solidifies how specialized his programs are. Scott is the best! He is a metabolic personal trainer and his facility is VERY clean and spacious. I had the pleasure of talking with him to get to know what he does and what separates him from other personal trainers, and you can tell by the way he talks that he isn't your typical trainer. He genuinely cares about your well being and before he starts the training, he does a consultation with you to figure out your goals and what it will take to obtain them. And he also told me that there are multiple body types. In the back of my head I think there is only one body type, super model. But this isn't the case with everyone. Everything in his gym is built to work some part of your body. My last personal trainer just told me to run and didn't really care about my diet or my exercise. I rarely write reviews, but just had to write this one. Scott is so knowledgeable and so attentive that made a person who hates the gym like me actually enjoy working out! He first give me a evaluation of my body type (apparently I'm a type C!), and then he customized a workout routine for me. I hate going to the gym but enjoy working out outdoors, so he taught me how to take advantage of the great So Cal outdoors and still get a good workout in! I don't want to loose any weight but just want to tone my body, he put me on a complete program that covers every aspect of my daily routine, including the nutrition part of it. I'm seven months into training with Scott, and I could not be happier! I began training with Scott in August 2019 with a focus on learning how to train with and around a knee and shoulder injury. My plan was to train for 2-4 months and then continue training on my own.
