This coffee bar is a "branch" of the original Copenhagen Coffee Lab in Boldhusgade, across the parliament, and they take their coffee seriously. I got here on one morning in December with a mild hangover after the office Christmas party the night before. Looking for a quick fix instead of having to prepare breakfast for myself, the boyfriend and I headed here on a Saturday morning for coffee and a quick bite. As I previously spelt out, my flat white was excellent and my breakfast bun (morgenboller - sliced with butter and cheese) was very nice. The boyfriend was very happy with his cappuccino and a giant croissant.  This place is very cosy, with great service. The seats were not many, so sometimes it gets full in here, but without the noise and the crowd. I do notice that people come and go, to get their coffees away, but there are locals like us who linger a bit longer for a talk or just to read newspapers. It's exactly the kind of local hangout that we need more in Amager.

The inside is also very cute and comfy, and they always have music playing and the doors open :) The main issue I have here is the inconsistency. I have gotten around 8 hot chocolates here, and they are always different. There is only one size, yet all of the workers will charge me different prices (I don't think it's actually on the menu). I go in, and it is 20 DKK. Other times it is 25. Once it was 27. I also recall it once being in the 30's! I understand it being a few DKK off, but not by a 6-10 krone difference. Also, the hot chocolate is always different. Sometimes there is whipped cream. Sometimes there are marshmallows. Sometimes there is a little biscotti with it. They all taste good, but it still confuses me.

We went the next morning at 8:45am on a Saturday and this early bird special is only available for one hour from 8:30-9:30 Saturday Sunday or 7:30-8:30 Mon-Fri. Nice coffee shop. Barista was super nice. This place takes credit cards no problem. They have a few selection of pastries. We really like the croissants because they were super hot and fresh. Just baked right out of the oven with a nice fluffy bite into it. If your looking for super fancy latte art, not sure if this place is good at that. They do have a good interior seating and a nice section of outdoor seating as well. A coffee and a croissant came out to be around $5.75 USD for the early bird special is not too bad compared to NYC prices.
